The tweeter and the speaker in my passenger side front door have this awful hissing sound coming from them. The sound gets louder and quieter with driving. Could it be a lose connection at the headunit or would it be to each speaker? The speakers are stock by the way.
View 3 RepliesI had two 12" subs running in my 09 corolla. The front right door speaker and little tweeter speaker stopped working so I took the subs out. I figured the speaker was blown so I ordered new ones. When I installed the new door speakers, they didn't work.
I know for a fact it is not the speaker that's faulty because I tried them on the driver- side door and they worked. So my passenger side door and tweeter speakers aren't working. Do I need to order a new tweeter speaker as well? Like does the tweeter need to be working for the door speaker to work? And vice-versa?
I have been experiencing loud popping and static/feedback sound from my front left speaker or tweeter. I replaced the jbl speaker with used jbl speaker. But it seems that my tweeter is done for as well. No sound comes out of it. Is it best just to replace it with a new jbl tweeter or are there better options that fit with not a lot of work.

I took a 64 mile round trip drive yesterday with the audio between 16-22 volume and there's definite rattling coming from the right passenger side door.
This was through the Satellite Radio Feed. It wasn't all the songs but any songs with the extended drawn out bass you can here it rattle.
I'm about 115 miles in and will most likely take it in this week. There's nothing in the side door compartment...
I have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with the Mark Levinson audio system. I am starting to hear a sound from the passenger side door speaker like a rattling when there is low bass in a song. I wanted to know much it should cost me to have all the speakers replaced to higher quality ones.
I don't need crazy bass that will make my windows shatter, however currently these speakers feel like if I put any hip hop or dubstep on more speakers will blow. I do NOT want to have to cut any part of my car to install new speakers, I am not comfortable with someone cutting holes or making bigger holes to fix the new speakers.
So I have a hissing sound (kind of what the vacuum cleaner makes when air path is obstructed with debris) coming from passenger side foot area. The easiest way to hear it is to turn on HVAC and put the fan on the lowest setting so the sound of the fan does not interfere with the noise.
View 1 RepliesOk just so I know what the dealer may do to fix it....I have a weird hissing sound coming from the driver side like a vacuum hose is off or something...but when I apply the brakes it goes away...I let go and it comes back...when I shut the car off as well it stays hissing until I hit the brakes again or it just quiets down... What this may be?
View 1 RepliesRecently I noticed that the interior trimming (or whatever it's called, I'm unsure of the correct term) on the passenger side door seems to be not in the right place. Almost like it's snapped out of place. I tried pushing it back but it doesn't wanna stay.

I noticed that when I was driving the other day, the right front passenger lower speaker made this terrible popping/thunder sound. I took the REG in today and the lady told me that there is a faulty speaker and amp, and that they are ordering a new set from Germany. She also told me that one of VW's touareg reps was in town today and she is reporting this problem to him so this will not be future problem with touaregs.
View 5 RepliesThe passenger front speaker on my 11 FX4 has been intermittent for a while. I replaced the door harness as described in TSB 12-11-4 but found the harness may not have been the cause. I have aftermarket speakers in my truck and installed them using Metra speaker harnesses. When pulling the old harness out, I found the connector for the speaker to be full of water. This is likely the issue with my truck but I wanted to share this observation with others who use these little harnesses. These connectors are not assembled using rubber grommets between the leads and the connector housings, which are necessary to make the connection weather/water tight.

Now, I'm just passing this along in the event others are experiencing this issue and also have aftermarket speakers. Before hitting the dealer up for the TSB repair, check to see if you have the same issue as I found. But if you're running factory speakers and have intermittent speaker operation, hit up your dealer for the TSB repair.
Having issue with body squeaking ? . I am getting a squeaking sound coming from around the passenger rear door /body area of my 2010 Passat. Car has 10K miles and has been doing this since around 6K miles. Not noticeable unless going over uneven pavement or railroad tracks but it is annoying. Never had any body squeaks from a new car lite this. Have not been to the dealer with this issue yet.
View 6 RepliesThe sound is coming from the front passenger side. The noise gets louder the faster I go, put in neutal and noise still there press brake noise there turn wheel no change in pitch. Jacked it up and there's no play in wheel. Just changed both front wheel bearings 6 months ago.
Just changes all brakes today and got all new tires today. I'm thinking maybe the differential bearing but not sure and if so how to change it. I travel from Mississippi to Baton Rouge, LA everyday for work, about 240 miles round trip. What would happen if a bearing went out while driving 70 mph on interstate.
I was coming home from a trip and started to here this banging sound coming from the passenger side in the front under the vehicle. It already sounds like it busted up some gears cause you can here it being tossed around inside the casing. The vehicle will drive but once I get to around 10 mph it would start banging sounding like gears are messed up.
There is no binding there is nothing that makes the car slower but something is broke. I am wondering if there is a gear box under there near the center console and over to the passenger side in the front. Funny thing is... Is that it started in the back rear but stopped then the front started and then broke something. The back is fine though. Think this could be the All wheel drive also or some part of it.
I've been noticing "Hissing Noise" coming from the rear passenger side (rear right hand side) of my 2011 Prius for a few days now. It sounds like the hissing noise is coming from the vent that's located on that side. Not sure what that does, but the hissing noise is usually present when I'm driving at 10MPH or up and it's gone when I'm less than 10MPH or at a complete stop. I have about 32K miles on the car.

There was a loose tie rod, tightened it up
Took out the wheel, checked the bolts.
Checked brakes (he painted the calipers for me)
Checked rotors etc
Only happens when I accelerate the car. Barely makes the noise in reverse.

There is a clicking sound coming from the front passenger side of my dash. I have narrowed it down to being a problem with the Air Outlet Servo Sub Assembly. How should I go about correcting this dilemma? If I choose the option to waste another perfectly good weekend on taking apart my only means of transportation (except for my bicycle), how should I go about doing this to avoid creating anymore havic on what seems to be a perfectly good car?

I have noticed it when I come to a stop, then I hear a repetitive knock coming from under the front passenger side of the car. knock, knock... 7 times, in rhythm, not decreasing in volume, then it stops. Kind of like a gnome trying to get in from under the car... It does not sound like something is flapping or swinging as the knocks are consistent, it sounds mechanical in nature. The car is at the dealer right now for that and other things but they cannot get it to make that noise.
View 8 Replies2003 Passat 1.8T, 53,000 miles. There's a clunk coming from the front passenger side so I jacked the car up today and checked it out. Not much play at all when I moved the wheel. Tie rod ends look good, CV boots are intact, control arm bushings look good........except for one. The outer bushing on the passenger side lower rear arm is cracked. I assume this means I should replace that arm?
View 5 RepliesMy father in law has an 04 EX with the 5.4. It has a weird sound coming from the front passenger side. He listened to the jiffy lube kid who told him it was the brakes. I pulled one side completely apart tonight and the brakes are fine. We took it for a drive so I could hear the noise. It is coming from the passenger side up front. It is intermittent.
Doesn't matter if we hit a bump or pot hole. It sounds like a cat being run over. It will either last for a few seconds or just really quick. I crawled underneath and could not find anything loose. The first time I heard it I thought it was a shock. But the second time it was way too long to be a shock. And they are only a year old.
Secondly, it has a cat, and two mufflers..... Is this normal?
I own a 2005 Volkswagon Passat, and took it to my mechanic yesterday to get a sticker and my new summer tires put on. When I picked up the car, the passenger side speaker is no longer working. About a month ago I took my car to a specialist to have an aftermarket radio put in for me that I got for my birthday so I can listen to my iPod. Why my passenger side speaker is not working anymore? Does it have anything to do with what my mechanic might have messed up when putting the new tires on?
View 5 RepliesMy 05 Supercrew 4X4 with 172k miles started making a horrible noise these last couple days. It sounds like its coming from the front passenger side area. The best I can describe is that it sounds like an electric tool motor with bad bearings. I'll be driving along at 45mph or above and every now and then I'll hear a really bad bearing squeal. It's bad enough that I can feel the extra friction caused by the squeal start to slow my truck down. It's vehicle speed related. I know what a bad wheel bearing sounds like and this is nothing like that. It's gotten bad enough I'm nervous to drive anywhere.
