I'm 44 yrs old and i have been using Viagra for 12 years for recreational use, how do i wean myself off, i have tried having sex without Viagra but i can not achieve a full erection or an erection at all if i don't take the pill, i have been to my GP and to my urologist and have done blood test and had my testosterone check and all is normal.

I have been having a few issues maintaining erections for a few years now, sometimes its fine others not so good. It has got to the point where this is happening more often than not.
I had been taking 50mg viagra but this did not always work and generally left me with a headache for hours after taking.
On many occasions now I am unable to maintain an erection which is hard enough to allow me to penetrate my partner which is frustrating for both of us.
I am considering buying a strap on hollow penis sleeve from one of the sex shops eg love honey. This should allow me to at least penetrate.Does anyone have any experience of using these and have they made a difference.

View 10 RepliesI'm 16 weeks pregnant and ive been on heroine since I was 17 I am now 19...my parents stopped talking to me since I became a drug addict, the father of my child pushed me down the stairs when when I was 12 weeks because we were fighting about keeping the baby (he didn't want me to keep it) I had nowhere to go except my friends house with her boyfriend they are also on heroine and her boyfriend is constantly trying to get with me and I don't want to tell her because she will kick me out..., I work part time at a restaurant but I don't make enough to be on my own. I want to stop using but its so hard. I really love my baby and want him or her to be healthy.

I didn't realise just how mind and body controlling these drugs were.
Ok to cut a long story short I became ill and was prescribed 30/500 cocodamol the first few weeks I felt great yeah less pain and what a head rush.
I started to get addicted and needed my 2 tablet four times a day fix,was my injury gone I don't know I just needed the fix.
I tried a few times before to go cold turkey and ended up with the worse symptoms possible I sure you have had these.
The restlessness and aches in the legs were the worst I'm sure you will agree.
Through my dependency I became intolerant to any products containing caffeine as I noticed my body would itch and I had pain in my kidneys all the time.I stopped caffeine 6 years ago and cured that issue.
This time around I decided enough is enough and try a taper plan.

for 7 day only then I started my taper plan and it really works.

This worked for me and just remember plenty of water but not mountains of it as too much water can be deadly.
I would say to anyone who has just been prescribed co codamol just be aware that the come down after long term use will really spoil your day.
For the full impact of going cold turkey should only last around 8-10 days from sources I read but I will say this for a easier stage of coming off and less side effects try a taper.

I am 55 yrs old and have only enjoyed the experience of what it feels like to orgasm 3 times. first time in 2004 and two more at separate times within the past few years. I think I'm having problems due to the medications i'm taking.
I've been on an anti depressant since 2004 and klonopin to treat my general anxiety disorder. I KNOW for a fact these two are culprits. but when I wasn't even taking these meds I couldn't achieve orgasm. I can't stand it when dr.s say it's all in my head that I can't. that the mind prevents me from experiencing it.
I've had 4 natural births but have had surgical laparotomies 3 times due to one being a total hysterectomy when I was 45 and previous emergency surgery after a mishap from having a routine tubal ligation years before having my hysterectomy. so the nerves have been cut and maybe possibly damaged either from the surgeries or from having the episiotomy from having the vaginal births.
I read that dr.s take SUCH care in performing surgery for men when they have prostrate surgery as not to damage the delicate nerves, but they don't take the same care when they cut the woman for the episiotomy therefore damaging the nerves on the woman which can cause damage to nerves.
there fore we can't FEEL as well as before the surgery.
I feel numb down there most of the time. I asked my family dr for help but he referred me to a gyno. My gyno did hormone tests which showed up all normal levels for my age. I am also taking estrogen since my total hyster. because of having had to go into sudden menopause. let me tell you, I was a BASKET CASE when I wasn't taking the estrogen.
so it helps me significantly. but not in the area I'm writing about here.
I want to know if there is anything that a woman can take to get better blood flow to help achieve orgasm. that's why they say foreplay is SO important. and now I see why this is true. the woman gets blood flow to the vaginal area which is needed and takes at least 15 minutes for this to happen.
My gyno RX'd me some type of hormone but my insurance would not cover the brand name OR the generic form. so I gave up trying. I was on a mission to get this resolved.
I've just accepted that there's nothing that can be done for me. I now am trying an herbal supplement that has been used in other countries for many years called horny goat weed with MACA in it. I found it in the intimacy isle of my pharmacy and it's a lot cheaper than the so called supplements of testosterone.
I think it was progesterone that my Dr. prescribed me that my insurance wouldn't cover.
so I'm wondering what hormone I actually need.
