The pain from the tooth abscess has spread from the far left corner of my jaw to my ear and even under my chin. I can't see a dentist till next week and this is only getting worse. I already went to the er that is how i got these meds. The clindamycin is also making me very sick to my stomach. I ate some soup to take it last night and ended up hugging the trash can at my job for little over 20 min till nothing was left to come up. Please help this is getting out of control i can't even hardly help take care of my 2 month old baby because it hurts when she ends up touching the left side of my face!

Tooth Abscess :: Clindamycin Or Azithromycin?

Last week my tooth started to act up so I went to see my Dentist the very next day. I started on a Azithromycin that same day. My tooth still really hurt by Sat. so I called him and he told me to finish that up but also called in a rx for Clindamycin in case I still needed a antibiotic. My question is, has anyone taken that med for a abscess. I have done a lot a research on it and I think it's the last med I would take! I already suffer from acid reflux and this med is really harsh on the stomach. Would like to know if anyone has used it and what if any side effects? Forgot to mention, the abscess is not completely gone.

Dental Abscess :: Adjacent Tooth Decay Caused By Wisdom Tooth

If you check the x ray (where i circled in red), I have a tooth decay because of wisdom teeth coming close to my last tooth. My options are to do a root canal on the decayed tooth and eventually get the wisdom tooth removed OR get the decayed tooth removed and let the wisdom teeth occupy its place.

And my wisdom teeth is partially erupted, so it is not out fully.

I have asked around for a few suggestions and everyone is suggesting to go for option 2 which is removed the decayed tooth and let wisdom tooth partially take its place.

Can anyone suggest if that is a good option. As you can see all my teeth are healthy and I just had bad luck with the wisdom tooth coming at an angle!

Tooth Abscess Not Visible On X-ray?

My dentist took an x-ray of my mouth and found no sign of a tooth abscess, even though when she drilled the infected tooth (which had a filling), there was a foul smell, indicating an abscessed tooth.

There is also a swelling below my left jaw, and it is difficult to swallow and open my mouth.

The dentist didn't explain much regarding why the x-Ray didn't reflect the tooth abscess. When we asked about the swelling in my jaw, she answered (rather uncertainly) maybe, it was because of trauma?

Tooth Abscess - Terrible Toothache Under A Crown

I've got terrible toothache under a crown on an upper back molar ... wonderful kind dentist has drilled through crown and "cleaned it out" and put me on 1,500 mg amoxicillin per day for 7 days - going back next week, hopefully for root canal. My problem is, I expected to feel BETTER after yesterday;s "clean out" of roots and starting antibiotics but awake half the night last night in terrible pain and felt far too ill to go to work.  Pain is making me cry!  Taking Nurofen "migraine strength" ibuprofen & lysine and oddly, swilling with boiling hot salt water provides relief even though I can feel throbbing.  Has anyone been here?  Can anyone tell me what to expect?  I don't want to bother dentist if I dont have to as he's already been absolutely fantastic and I feel such a wimp ... but must try to get back to work.

Dental Abscess On My Tooth Second Time In 6 Months

I'm 20 years old, I suffered an abscess In October last year, it was the most painful experience of my life, I finally got a root canal in my tooth and I thought that was it all done, it's flared up again the other day started throbbing I knew straight away what it was, I went to the dentist today they took an x Ray and he even said it looked like it did before I had my last root canal, so was again infected, I've been put on antibiotics again until Tuesday but if it's not better I'm being referred to a Leeds specialist, can anyone tell me why it's come back so soon? I'm scared I suffered from this once before years again on the other side. What will happen now? I never want another one again and just want it sorted once and for all.

Tooth Abscess - Jaw Perforated Due To Large Cyst

Just discovered I have both of these a couple months ago after noticing a lump in my gum. The cyst has been eating away at my jaw and has perforated it, I've had no pain, but will be getting surgery soon.

My question is what are the chances of the tooth infection contributing to my chronic fatigue? I have found a few only posts stating, infections can make you feel lousy, fatigued etc. But no real solid information or testimonials.

Dental Health :: Sensitive Tooth, Abscess

Recently, I visited a dentist , and my teeth were cleaned. I was asked to be repeating that every six month. However, after the visit, a tooth became very sensitive to anything that touches it, whether hot or cold, or even ordinary water, a kind of pain sends me jumping.

I went back to the Dentist and he directed for an X-ray on the affected tooth. The X-ray showed a hole in between the teeth(an abscess). Some drugs were given to me( Amoxicillin 500mg; Flagyl 400mg; Cata? 50mg) which I have taken for some days. The pains are still there, and the dentist says the tooth will have to be removed, which I do not like at all! Instead, I have decided to to start brushing my teeth twice a day using Sensodyne toothpaste, and Listerine Mouthwash, twice a day. Doctor, will the alternative procedure that I have prescribed for myself eventually save me from the removal of the tooth, which I very much detest?

Tooth Abscess :: Jaw Pressure And Gums Swelling After Removal

Had abscessed tooth on top under gold crown. At the same time bottom gums swelled and I was told that one of my back molars needed extracted. Had 3 teeth pulled. My gums are still swollen on bottom which all doctors say they look pink and healthy. I feel pressure in my jaw. I feel like I'm being strangled in my throat. Now I feel like I'm in a tunnel when I speak. All these symptoms came one after the other and I don't know what to do. I have had a CT scan, a scan of my jaw, and an MRI of my jaw. The doctors say they don't see an infection. I don't understand what is going on. What ever this is, it seems to be spreading. The last oral surgeon I saw said the symptoms may be due to different things but I don't think so. Has anyone had anything similar?

Dental Health :: Tooth Abscess Worse Taking Amoxicillin

I need some advice from someone who's had a tooth infection.

I just went to see a dentist today. He put me on antibiotics (amoxicillin), and gave me some painkillers (hydrocodone). I've been keeping up so far on taking my amoxicillin. But instead of the pain getting better, it feels like it got worse. The bottom of my face is sensitive, sore, swollen, and tender to touching and cold.

Before I got this stuff, I could lie down in an elevated position and fall asleep alright, but now if I lean back at all, pain comes rushing to my jaw and infected area, causing me to become alert and loose my progress on sleeping. I only feel comfort when sitting straight up or standing, I'm at a loss.

Is this normal? Does it get better from here and just an unfortunate first night symptom?

Dental Health :: Abscess After Tooth Extraction And Bone Graft - Implant?

I recently had a fractured tooth extracted.  I had previously had a root canal and crown on the same tooth. After the extraction, a bone graft was done. We are in the process of waiting to get the implant done.  Today, however, I noticed a little mound in the space where the tooth was extracted. I popped it  and the liquid was consistent with previous abscesses I had. I immediately cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide and water.  Seems like these pop up a little bit more when I have sinus issues.  My question is whether not I should wait a little longer before getting the implant. Do I also need to go back to my oral surgeon and let him know? Not sure if this is normal or not.

Tramadol :: Tramadol And Alcohol

I began tramadol in June 2014 after surgery. It subsided the pain and made me feel good. Like happy and optimistic about my recovery. I couldn't drive while recovering, so I walked everywhere, including to physical therapy appointments. That was all of last summer. I stayed on them until January to help with physical therapy discomfort. Then I suffered an elbow injury also in January, so stayed on them. My surgeon who originally prescribed them began cutting down on what he prescribed, so I found them elsewhere. This past spring, I began drinking alcoholic beverages after taking my last dose at around 5pm. Two months later was a disaster. Since, I have learned two very important things about Tramadol. One is that it's also an antidepressant and two, alcohol makes them even more addicting. This I learned through all the research I desperately sought. I am now 11 days without taking Tramadol and It's been hell. I spoke to a detox facility and they said that my insurance company would not pay for treatment for Tramadol because it is...wait for it... NOT ADDICTING. So here I am still trying to get this poison out of my system. It stinks because it is now I need something to calm my symptoms. Which is the lesser evil? I have no energy, depression, muscle weakness, no motivation and can cry at any given moment. Why me, why any of this? Doctors need to know what Tramadol truly is as do the insurance companies.

Allergic To Antibiotics :: Used Clindamycin To Develop A Rash And Pimples On Face

I seem to get rashes often from different antibiotics. My allergic to or sensitive to list is ever growing. I recently was taking clindamycin and got a "rash" that looks like little white and red pimples. It started just on my face. I haven't taken any in over a week, but it's still all over my face and back and front of my neck. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there anyway to make it go away. I've grown accustomed to hives, but this is different. I should also add, I had an infected tooth and my period. Could these have anything to do with it?

My Doc gave me Azithromycin for 3 months and it seemed to clear it up, but as soon as I stopped the antibiotic it came back.  Im starting to think it's more of an allergy than a skin condition.  I tried the bleach baths, clindamycin foam nothing makes this go away forever. I am having one cultured today and i'm sure it will change nothing.

Tramadol :: Stay Away From It

Last Friday (16/Sep/11) I had an op to repair an umbilical hernia (overnight stay). On being discharged the nurse gave me a packet of 50 mg Tramadol capsules to ease the pain, although the pain wasn't that bad. I had been walking to the toilet (in hospital) within 4 hours of recovering from the op.

Anyway, I got home on Saturday and what with the fairly long walk from the hospital to the taxi, plus getting in and out of the car, I was starting to feel some twinges, so I took 2 Tramadol. Much later that evening I started to have really weird side effects. They are so difficult to describe. A combination of panic attack, dizziness, extreme fatigue, and difficulty nodding off to sleep. I'd nod off, like one does, then I'd immediately have these images in my head - people I'd seen on TV that day, cars, animals, all jumbled up.

Then I must have fallen asleep for an hour or two only to come awake with a start after having this veritable nightmare of there being someone in the room and when I opened my eyes (in my sleep just before coming awake) there was this extremely tall guy, 9 feet tall, his head was literally brushing the ceiling. Then "he" walked across the room to another bed (my mind thought it was still in the 4-bed unit in the hospital ward) and disappeared! As if in a puff of smoke. And at that point I awoke feeling hot and sweaty.

So those were the last Tramadol *I* was ever going to take, I can tell you. And then, yesterday, Thursday I had severe itching at the surgical wound site. This had nothing to do with the Tramadol I'd taken on Saturday, which must have been out of my system by then. Anyway, apart from the itching there was still a bit of an ache, so I thought I'd take just a single Tramadol capsule.

The itching went; the dull ache went. But this morning, very early, about 04:00am, I awoke feeling anything but refreshed. I had some numb feelings in my hand and thigh, they kept coming and going. I got up at around 05:45 am, make a cup of tea, then suddenly felt very weak. Jittery, fast pulse, zonked. Since then I have just lain on my bed in between going for a short walk and am drinking glasses of water in an attempt to flush this [b:095f76e716]POISON[/b:095f76e716] out of my system and am starting to feel a little better.

Earlier in the week on doctor's recommendation I booked an appointment with the nurse for this afternoon to have the dressing changed and the incision checked (it's a long, vertical cut about 4 inches long; they found two hernias), and in order to save on taxi fares I booked one of the free pick-up buses to take me and bring me back. However, I've just cancelled them and have ordered a taxi instead as I cannot face the lengthy zig-zag route these buses often take as they have to pick up numerous other people. I'll talk to the nurse about Tramadol and see what she says. I don't need any pain killers now and if I still get one or two twinges in the next few days, I shall take only paracetamol if necessary. (Not allowed to take ibuprofen or similar NSAIDs as I have a tendency to gastritis and duodenal ulcer.)

So, I am never going to touch Tramadol ever again and this time I mean it. I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. If some people take it just to get "high" they must be stark, raving mad.
