3 Series :: Banging Or Clunking Coming From Under E-brake Area On Hard Acceleration

I drive a 1992 325is,(auto) with 150K... a few weeks ago only when racing or hard acceleration there was banging or clunking, coming from under the E-brake area, almost sounded and felt like the back tires hopping up and down as if i where chirping gears in a riced honda. The tranny IS NOT slipping or banging etc.

Now over time it has progressively gotten worse, it started doing it when rpms jump, now i cant even accelerate, I have to feather the gas OH SO lightly or else, it clangs and bangs almost sounding like the drivetrain is slapping against the chassis. i have to accelerate extremely slowly, and lightly or else it clanks and bangs, it takes me 5 mins to get to 40mph. Can it be the guibo? or mount that keeps the drivashaft in place?

I have a 2003 Camry 4 cyl. around 60,000 miles on odometer and for around 3 months the engine seems to have gotten louder while at idle. At the back of the engine around the plastic intake manifold area the engine is making a light banging / tapping noise. It never made this noise before. The engine idles fine and the drives normally. I always keep an eye on the fluid levels and they are up to par. I'm not sure what is going on and if I should just keep an eye on it. I have provided a link below to a video of the noise. Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2000 - Banging Noise Coming From The Rear

Did I get bent over? had a banging noise coming from the rear and took it to my regular shop, they told me the leaf spring shackle and hanger brackets were almost rusted thru and one more pothole and I'd be all over the road, so they ground out the rivets and replaced said brackets. I don't have the equipment to do that kind of work but I still feel it was a little high.

7 Series :: Vibration And Clunking Only On Heavy Acceleration / Or From A Stop

So this vibration/ cluncking seems to be from between the front seats and mostly during off the line acceration, and from all I can find it's the flex disc, but my flex disc shows no signs of damage. Can these discs go bad without looking bad or is this possibly the hanger bearing on the driveshaft?

I am also looking for any other possibilities for the cause of this vibation/ clunking as there sounds like something is hitting the bottom of the car but there are no impact marks to show me where the issue is

Elantra GD (2013+) :: Clunking Noise Coming From Steering Area / High Pitch Squeak When Fan Turned On

I've been noticing some new noises in my Elantra in the last couple of months.

First, there's a clunking noise that sounds like it's coming from the steering area. It usually happens when I back up and rotate the steering wheel, like when I back out of my parking spot. More often it's in the morning.

Second, when I turn the fan on there is a high pitched squeal. If you turn the fan off you can hear the squeal more clearly for a moment as the fans die down. This one only started happening in the last couple of weeks.

I guess I'll have to take it in and get them to take a look. Last year it was a squeaking in the pano roof which only happened when it was hot out. They seemed to have lessened it but it wasn't gone completely.

Prius (2010-12) :: Clunking / Banging Noise When Starting

Yesterday I started my 2011 Prius, about 3 seconds later (Im guessing here) I pushed the A/C button, the engine started (at the same time), and I got this horrible grinding, clunking, bucking noise from under the hood. It lasted for about 5 seconds then stopped and everything was fine. Engine ran smooth, A/C was running. I turned off the A/C thinking that might be it and started it again, again everything ran smoothly. I pushed the start button the shut down the car, waited about 15 seconds, pushed it again, all normal, again with the A/C on. I put into drive and moved forward, allowed the engine to start, no problems. Smooth operation, everything normal.

I gather it'd be a good idea to take it in, but want to know how many "on-off cycles" until a problem is erased from memory. I did drive it last night (everything ran just fine) and went through 3 "cycles". What this could be? Bad fuel?? I have a 2011, with about 38k miles on it. This is the second Prius I've owned and have never had a problem before, let alone something like this.

Golf/GTI VI :: Vibration Coming From Radio Area / Rattling Under Acceleration

Last week I had my shifter linkages replaced under warranty because the shifter was sweaking like crazy. I know that they had to take a lot of the car apart (center console, exhaust), but I'm not sure exactly what.

The rattle is pretty hard to notice and could easily be mistaken for engine noise, but after owning the car for 2 years, I know that that's never been there. It sounds kind of like a vibration coming from the radio area, or maybe a little lower. What worries me is that it doesn't happen over bumps or uneven roads, only under acceleration, in gear, while moving. Also, it doesn't always happen, sometimes its completely absent.

I was thinking maybe a screw wasn't torqued properly somewhere? I have no clue though, the problem is that I don't really have time to take it back to the dealer right now.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Under Acceleration And Sudden Braking Pop Is Coming From Passenger Fender Area

I just recently bought 2012 CorollaS. Great car inside and out with about 20k miles. I've noticed under acceleration and sudden braking a pop is coming from the passenger fender area. I've replaced the motor mount on that side thinking that might have been the issue, but it's still there. What are the torque specs for the motor mount. Maybe it's simply not torqued correctly.

Rodeo :: 2002 LS 2WD - Hard Chatter In Brake Pedal And Clicking Sound From Dash Area

I have an 02 rodeo ls 2wd with 110k miles.. I am having a lot of brake issues. 3 months ago i had front pads rotor and rear shoe's installed.then i started to feel maybe once a day a hard chatter in the brake pedal and a clicking sound coming from the dash area..so i took it back to pepboys and they said it was warped drum..so they installed new drums as well.

Well the clicking noise behind the dash is still there and the chatter in the pedal still happens.....when the pedal chatters the truck wont stop so it's kindda scary.

Also sometimes (it will last for a day or 2 then disappear) when coming to a slow stop the brakes make a rubbing noise like a waa waaaa waaa waaa as the tire rotates to a stop..I've been to pepboys 4 times and of course the noise never happens for them.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: Odd Sound When Taking Off From A Dead Stop Under Hard Acceleration

Wonder if its dry driveshaft slip splines? Only happens when leaving a dead stop under hard acceleration. Hard to describe sound, but seems to be coming from behind me, almost sounds like 2 broken pieces of steel snapping past each other. frame is o.k., leaf springs are o.k. , doesn't do it when shifting between gears or if I gently take off from a stop. I don't think there's a grease fitting for the driveshaft where the splines are (where the 2 piece shaft takes up slack for being loaded or unloaded) may have to take that apart once the weather breaks and see what i find. my 1st ranger never had this issue after 200K miles. this truck is now at 145K but its almost 20 years old. I've read somewhere before about pulling the shaft apart & greasing the splines up. does this sound like a possibility for whats happening? not sure what else it could be.

Ford - Windstar :: Clunking Noise Coming From Brake Pads

I've been noticing this rattling sound when going over bumps, which doesn't seems to go away!. I know it's a problem with the brake pads because it goes away as soon as I depress the brake pedal. So I decided to take another look at each wheel.

- Brake pads are relatively new and properly installed.
- Wheels have anti-rattle clips properly installed.
- Bolts were properly tightened with a torque wrench by me.
- Slide pins are lubricated.

During my visual inspection I saw the rear wheel calipers are a bit loose and that should be making the noise. I would describe it as up and down play with respect to the rear rotors or the ground.

I don't know what would cause that since each bolt is tight. I don't know if low brake fluid could cause that, no lights are lit on the dashboard but will take a look at the reservoir.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2001 Edge Really Rough At Start Up / Stalls On Hard Acceleration

2001 Ranger Edge 3.0. Like the title says, when I start my ranger it idles really rough. If I give it gas it shudders like it's gonna die. After about 2-3 minutes it smooths out. If I'm on the interstate and down shift to pass someone, while accelerating it feels like I have a misfire (no CEL given) not all the time though. I've changed plugs and wires and it stopped doing it so I thought I had it but, it continued a few days later. Then I changed the fuel filter and it stopped again for a few days. Well it's back again. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump but I wanted to check here before I take my truck bed off. I also checked for vac leaks and I'm all good there.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 1990 - Rear Brakes Locked Up When Hit The Brake Pedal Hard

I have a 1990 4x4 ford Ranger, the little truck was purchased in early 2008 as a work truck but has ended up becoming my main vehicle, it has been a good truck for the most part but know I am having some brake issues, well have been having for some time but they seem to come and go. Usually it happens when I have to hit the brakes hard, the rear brakes lock up, I replaced the master cylinder months ago and thought that fixed it, then a month later it happened again. The last time it happened was friday, the time before that was in march 09'.

I have searched this online and found numerous try this but the original poster never comes back to say if the problem is fixed or what fixed it. My ABS light DOES NOT come on when this happens, it does function properly, it illuminates when the key is turned on then goes off. My parking brake no longer works either but I think that is from me "driving thru" the locked up rear brakes. I plan on replacign both drums and shoes within the next week but would like an option to repair the locking up issue.

Touareg :: Rubbing Banging Type Noise Coming From Rear Of 2006 V8

I have a 06 touareg v8 air sus, loaded. Today was the first time towing my bass boat with this truck, and on the way to the lake, I keep hearing a weird noise, sound coming from the rear of the vehicle, something like a rubbing banging type noise. At first I thought maybe the factory hitch wasn't bolted on very well, but this is not the case(as I could tell not much to see under there) I tried jumping on the trailer to emulate the sound but this didn't work. Its not the trailer brake, which is a self actuating system, that checked out ok.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Loud Banging Coming From Engine Bay - Blown Headgasket?

So I was driving home from work in my 2000 Jetta 2.0, which has 115k miles on it. Its a 5 speed and I love the car, even though its kind of a beater. Anyway, coming off the highway and reducing speed, I hear a loud banging coming from the engine bay. It sounds like a car would if a spark plug were blown out of the block.

There is definitely a loss of power and the motor is running rough. The check engine light is flashing at me constantly. I pull off the highway and pop the hood. No fluid loss, no obvious smoke coming from anywhere. I start feeling around the engine bay and I feel high pressure air (exhaust?) being expelled from under the valve cover.

So what could have broken? Cracked head? blown headgasket? some other thing I haven't thought of? Its obvious that exhaust gas is leaking from a cylinder into the valve cover.

Touareg :: Banging Sound Coming From Passenger Side In Front Under Vehicle

I was coming home from a trip and started to here this banging sound coming from the passenger side in the front under the vehicle. It already sounds like it busted up some gears cause you can here it being tossed around inside the casing. The vehicle will drive but once I get to around 10 mph it would start banging sounding like gears are messed up.

There is no binding there is nothing that makes the car slower but something is broke. I am wondering if there is a gear box under there near the center console and over to the passenger side in the front. Funny thing is... Is that it started in the back rear but stopped then the front started and then broke something. The back is fine though. Think this could be the All wheel drive also or some part of it.

Prius (2010-12) :: Banging Sound Coming From Front End On Driver Side

My wife has a 13 Prius persona. There is a rattling/banging sound coming from the front end on drivers side only. Car has not been in any accident. Toyota dealer has looked at it twice. First time could not hear noise. Second, he heard it. They looked at everything and then stated that it was the ABS Brakes testing. It sounds like something is loose- that is the best way to describe the noise. It happens fairly often, too. Never happened with my 2012 Prius model two when we had it.

Saturn - S-series :: Brake Light Started Coming On For Several Seconds On Dashboard

Just recently, my Brake light started coming on, on my dashboard for several seconds or more then going back out. I checked the fluid and it was fine. The next time the brake light came on, I noticed that the needles for Both my Speedometer and RPM gages dropped to zero for as long as the Brake light was illuminated. Once the brake light went off, the needles once again showed my speed and RPM (were functional). This occurs while I'm simply driving down the road.
