I have an OBDII reader which works for every vehicle I have tested except for my 2007 Accent H/B and my wife's 2012 Elantra sedan. In both cases I get a " linking error" message. Do Hyundai vehicles require a special code reader?
View 3 RepliesI got a 2008 accent hatch basic model. Its got the 1.6 motor with 23k miles. It will not start at the moment. Battery is good, I am getting fuel. It is not getting spark, and my scanner wont link up to it. I don't know what else to trouble shoot. I am out of warranty car is a salvage title,car ran fine until today. I am thinking the ecu fried but I don't know? All fuses good. What can i check or how do I troubleshoot?
View 6 Replies2000 Maxima - I just changed the head gaskets, got it back together and no start, no spark, solid security light and linking error to ecu. 50 miles to a nissan dealer. I have 12v to the injectors but no ground, I just checked spark last night and have none. I tried all three keys, will no battery for a month or two cause key security issues? I hate to drag it to Nissan and have them tell me I need a new ecu for a few thousand dollars. Does a security issue cause a linking issue?

Now today i just got a new iphone and I tried to hook it up the same way via usb but it will not work. It wont read and a error message came up on the display saying usb driver not found.
View 1 RepliesThis morning on my way to work my 2006 2.5T XC90 engine lost major horsepower. I barely could creep ahead once the traffic light turned green. The exclamation point on the dash was lit and the error message said "Engine performance affected". I sputtered to the curb and put the vehicle in park. I depressed the gas pedal several times all the way to the floor with little reaction in engine rpms. I then shut off the engine and restarted. After this the warning lights went out and the engine ran fine. The outside temperature was -7F and my vehicle had been running for about 5 minutes.

My 2011 Accent's engine light came on recently. The mechanic said it was a cylinder 3 misfire and recommend changing the spark plug and coil pack for that cylinder. We did that over the weekend. Now the light is back on and has read 5 codes in the past 12 hours (4 at one time). They are P0303, P0304, P0003, P0403, and P0100. I have looked the codes up and can't discern if any could be caused by one main issue. About a month ago it read a code for the oxy sensor, but it went away and never came back.
View 3 Replies2009 Accent, 1.6L 154,xxx Cylinder two misfire. Engine was rebuilt due to timing belt. Twice. Second time I did it. Replaced plugs, coil packs, all gaskets, (everything new in the head) did a smoke test, compression test 180 psi across all four, used a noid light for coil packs (good) did it at the injectors 1,3,4 did good, but 2 came on then went off. Check resistance and it shows good, replaced injector anyway and the connecter. Still doesn't work. Checked powers and grounds at the rail, good. Good solid voltage. I hooked up a scan tool and tried to shut injector 2 off, no change in RPM or vibration. Scan tool worked for 1,3,4. Used another PCM, still misfire in two. Even jumped a wire from PCM control and 15A inj fuse for the 12V constant (bypassed the harness) and still doesn't work. Also have knock sensor code, just two codes.

View 7 RepliesNot too terribly long ago I got assistance on identifying and fixing an engine misfire on my 2009 Accent. I assumed was directly connected has cropped up again - a P0497 Low Purge Flow error has come up on the car.
We recently replaced the purge flow valve, and everything seems to be running fine - there is no visible cause for the error, and I've even tried making sure I get the fuel cap as tight as possible.
The code is not popping up constantly - this is only the second time it's come up since the misfire was fixed(without obvious symptoms I always clear a code once just to make sure it wasn't a computer glitch), and the first time it popped up on it's own was the day after I fixed the misfire. Need to know what to check to find out what's wrong and, of course, how much priority I should place on fixing this issue.
I just changed the battery in my 07 Camry with factory installed navigation system and now my whole radio/navigation system is DEAD.
I ejected and reinstalled DVD in NAV system and it has no effect. The ON/OFF button on radio does not turn radio on. Error message on screen is 'No DVD - Please insert MAP DVD. I have checked the radio fuse and it is OK.
I am trying to determine the P106 error message (MAP sensor, or 5V error). Where the MAP sensor is located as well as what else I should be looking at? Something else that has been odd is when the ECS error comes on the check engine comes up as well. I just had my car in for the ECS, brake light recall with no change.
View 9 RepliesI received a new CD for father's day and tried to put it in the factory 6 disk player and once I removed the cd I wanted to and tried to load the new one, I got a cd error message. Now it won't even play the 5 cd that are in there and I can't get it to eject them or accept the new one. Is there an easy fix, or am I looking at a new radio? I'm guessing I won't find one like the factory one, but will an aftermarket one work with the steering wheel controls and all?

View 5 RepliesI have a 2003 1.8L Volkswagen Passat which I hate to say I've been lax on taking care of. In the past year I've been good about getting the oil changed and using fully synthetic oil. I am now getting an error message that says STOP Check Oil Press. Stop Motor. I took the car to my mechanic who can't tell me exactly what's wrong. From what I'm reading here, it looks like I'm dealing with "sludge."
My car is at a little over 60,000 miles and I'm wondering what to do. I don't mind spending the money to fix the car, but I really don't know how to figure out exactly what's going on, and what I should do. The mechanic I took the car to is going to completely empty the oil and then get a gage of the true oil level...
Sometimes my Samsung S5 will connect and I am able to use Pandora, other times not. Bluetooth is always on. I get a message that says "Tether error" where the Pandora box is. Tried resetting the system by pressing and holding the volume button for 3 seconds, also turned off and back on bluetooth on my phone. Today I opened the app on my phone and still nothing.
This is on a 2014 IS 350 AWD F Sport.
Don't know know the cause of this message. From what I've been able to find, it sounds like a serpentine belt.
View 13 RepliesI picked up a 2016 CSG GTI S 4-door with DSG on Dec 31st. I had an Airbag Error! message come on when I started it this weekend. I went through several cycles of restarts and it didn't go away. I did a quick Internet search and didn't hit on any common problem with airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, etc. I called that Saturday and was given a Monday appointment. I was dreading them having to take out interior dash, seats, trim, etc. to troubleshoot. I just got the call that the problem turned out to be with an airbag sensor connection in the front bumper and it is ready to go. Can't wait to get back to driving!
View 5 Replies3 weeks in shop and still no end in sight regarding all the TSB and warranty work. One fix seems to lead to a new problem. Service guys are nice, but it sure is taking long. They thought it was nearly ready to go, but the latest error message showing up tells the driver to "put the vehicle in P" while driving.
