I've just got a 2014 model Hyundai i25 and it has a funny habit. When the driver's door is opened there is a ticking noise (like a light on/off sound). The noise stops when the door is closed. It happens only with the driver's door. This a company car and I checked the others ~ 15. None behaves the same. The local official Hyundai dealer/workshop can't figure it out...

I've been searching around google and here, all I can really find is that it's a huge PITA, and you're supposed to use a hook to pull out a C-Clip.
I really can't see this C-Clip. Or even make contact with it, if it is there. I've been pulling the crank back and peaking inside ever so slightly and I'm just not seeing anything. With a hook in there, I spun the crank hoping I'd feel a 'bump' or 'nudge' of the clip against my hook (bent metal wire), but honestly I've got nothing.
My Accent is making a ticking sound in the rear passenger side. When I slow down it becomes a grinding sound. The car only has 19k. I have scheduled a appointment to get it looked at....
View 2 RepliesSo, I bought a 2012 camry se about 2 months ago and as soon as I got it home I noticed a clicking in the drivers side door when I open and close it. There's three clicks before its fully open, I'm thinking that it clicks at every stop point the door has. I know there's some models that have this put it stock so the wind doesn't blow your door shut on you, is this what it is? I tried looking online about it but couldn't really find anything.
View 14 Replies2009 XLT.. rear drivers side door is locked and closed. Master lock button, remote button and keypad all function and make the manual lock rod go up and down as it should. Both the interior and exterior door handles move freely, as if the door were properly locked, but regardless of the lock position neither will open the door.
I dismantled the door from the inside as best I could and can see all cables and rods are intact down to the actuator mechanism. Pretty sure something inside the actuator is messed up, but how do I get the door open to get at the screws needed to remove the actuator?? If I need to pry the actuator apart, what am I looking for (or more acurately, feeling around for) to release the door latch??
I purchased a brand new 2014 SFS 2.4L Luxury just a week ago. I have noticed rattling/ticking noise coming from the driver side door. If I press againt the door with my elbow, the noise stops.
And here is the weird thing, I can hear the noise in the morning when the car is cooled overnight (parked in underground garage). But it does not happen when the car has been parked under the sun for a long period of time (in 25C/77F). So basically, I hear it on my way to work and it disappears on my way home.
2011 Scab truck when driving over rough stuff drivers side door sounds like its cracked open when its not...never liked clamshell doors wished they would have went with mini doors like Dodge....

In comparison, my 2012 Corolla LE was built in Japan and was just as quiet as a mouse inside.
This is the only rattle. So small and so persistent. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting an hour, but when it is gone it is definitely gone.
I can tap on the panels, open and shut the door, run the window up and down and yet it continues to rattle. Then, all on its own, it disappears. Sometimes for days without making a peep or a squeak.
It is not the Seat belt, nor is it anything attached to the seat belt. (If anything should be rattling it should be at the seat belt pillar adjustment).
I heard this noise on my mkIV GTI as well. When I unlock and open the car in the AM I hear a strange "whirring" sound. It sounds like a cell phone vibrating on a hard surface. I don't think anything is broken since it has done this on two different cars. I just want to know what it is. The sound happens as soon as I open the driver-side door.

View 1 Replies2012 Accent. I have a wind noise issue. I don't mean that it's just loud. The driver's side upper window area has a crazy noise. It's a high pitched (is there another kind?) whistle. It is very inconsistent. I can not give any precise circumstance under which it appears, but it is definitely speed related. It appears from about 65-70 mph. But only sometimes. It also seems more common with cross winds, but it's hard to say for sure. I can not for the life of me pinpoint the origin. It seems to be around head level on the driver's door.

I have no clue what it is i even asked my mechanic who has been working on volkswagens for years and he said hes never heard anything like it.
