Got a code p0087 on my 2012 accent (manual). The car won't go over 60 mph and has trouble going over 3,000 rpm. Car won't turn on unless I pump the gas for several seconds.
View 1 RepliesI stopped and when I started the SF the engine light stayed on. I shut it off and checked oil. Oil good. When I started it again it didn't start as swiftly as it normally would. Since I still had 150km to go in the dark I decided to give it a whirl as the alternative, like waiting for a tow truck, would be many hours.
Max rpm, about 2000. Give more gas and it sputters. Eventually nursed it to maintain 80-100 kmh at the 2k rpm. Since it was mostly downhill I continued to at least get closer to civilization. Found sort of a sweet spot and was able to maintain 100kmh on level ground and lost some on grades. Engine was running smooth.
As it turned out I made it home. Total milage on SF: 58,250 km. Guess I'll see what the dealer says on Monday.
I'm getting a p0087 on a hard acceleration new low pressure pump new fuel filters run the pinpoint test in the pced is fine and passes the high pressure test with the ids? Not sure where to go from here?
View 5 RepliesThis morning I went to go to the corner to buy something, I knew it was colder than usual, -12F. I did not plug in the pre-heater last night. I let the truck idle for 15 minutes before moving it. It was still idling high. The P0087 code is the only code popping- is this just because of the cold temp? I haven't owned a diesel since my '79 Rabbitt, and this engine is as different from that as night is day. this didn't happen yesterday but it only got down to -2F and warmed up to about 18F.
View 6 RepliesMy hpfp just blew up 2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting to hear if my ford extended warentee will pay for it. What was weird for me was I had a p0087 code thrown about an hour before the p21b0 code. I had a 5sec warning of reduce power, then pull over now message, then it died before I could get over. All service down by ford, 48k miles on my 2011. I'm not happy that the truck left me on the side of the road with the 5th wheel in tow. Having a second failure? Not sure if I want to keep the truck now or not. Sounds like even the newer trucks are failing as well. I would have thought they would have this fixed by now.

My accent currently has just under 17k and about two months ago displayed a cel. I plugged in my innova 3100 code scanner and it displayed p0441. saying it was incorrect purge flow. My question is.. is this covered under the factory warranty. I'm on a very tight budget and I'm trying to find out before going in and finding out. I've owned Hyundai's since 2002 and so far have never paid for an out of pocket repair. But it doesn't hurt to check ahead.. And I've already gotten the standard "it's your gas cap". Ok I'd buy that if it was 10yrs old but it's only a yr and a half old. besides it only goes half a turn then clicks. so it kind of either seals or it doesn't.
View 3 RepliesI got a 2012 Hyundai Accent SE manual 112000 mostly highway miles. For a month now I am getting the MIL on and P2191 code (System too lean at higher load bank1) after erasing the code it appeared again in 3-4 days. I replaced air filter check all valves and vacuum in air flow, changed to premium gas. Pipe that connected to the valve from EVAP system looks not damaged and valve works as intended. While changing spark plugs I noticed that all of them were quite charred. I am thinking to replace both O2 up/down stream sensors. Which not OEM sensors would be the best match for my Accent?
View 11 RepliesI love my car 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS but once it hit 60K miles, the engine light came on and it has been eating gas. I get up to 160 miles per tank now. My MP fluctuates from 12-25 MPG. I literally watch it jump when I fill up the car, then a few miles later, it drops again. Code P2196 always comes up. (stuck rich)
Dealer advised me to do fuel system flush.
Dealer replaced upstream o2 Sensor
Dealer replaced Check Valve
New Spark Plugs last Fall due to hearing really loud spark knocking... and also re-gapped last week. Now I can hear them slightly again.
Engine light just came back on after almost 200 miles.
Reading some other threads- apparently this seems to be a known issue for my car.
I am wondering if I should try replacing the downstream o2 sensor.... OR consider trading my car.
I have a 2011 F450 with a 6.7. It has 99K. The whole fuel system was replaced about 10K miles back. I installed a dieselsite aux fuel filter/water separator after that. Has been running like a top till this am on the way to work. Right before I get to my biz the reduced power warning came on, fortunately I made it into the parking lot at my biz. Then the engine died and it would not restart. Hooked it up to auto ingenuity and I got the P0087 code. I changed the diesel site fuel filters and the stock primary and secondary fuel filters.
The diesel site had a little bit of sediment but no water whatsoever. The Ford filters were very clean and had no trace of sediment or water, but I replaced them anyways. I cleared the code and tried to restart the engine but it will not start. Checked for codes again and now has P0087, P2291 and P2539. The pump is kind of loud when trying to prime the system but there is pressure to secondary filter on engine. I do not have a gauge and adapter to check the pressure yet. I did pick up a replacement pump before the parts dept closed. Could the pump still be bad even tho I do have pressure at the secondary filter?
Ok had a check engine light. It directed me to replace the IAT sensor.. After some research I found it was integrated into the MAP sensor. Purchased a new sensor and replaced. Drive about 15 miles CEL throws another code. P0106 (sensor i just replaced) faulty Map sensor.
Followed procedure to replace sensor.. unhook battery cable reset ecm. After reset engine is hard to start. Followed by RPM changes (assuming its the ECM re-adjusting). Then CEL flashes 5-6 times and goes out, Drive 15 miles. Map sensor code reappears. (note i only purchased one sensor But repeated install 2 times).
My thought is against wiring. since the codes refer to different signal wires one for IAT one for MAP sensor. Faulty replacement sensor?
2002 Accent 1.6L
So, I recently purchased a new HID kit for my car, with a harness and power source from the battery and everything. But the problem is my right light keeps going out. I had trouble when I first installed it so I switched the ballast and it still had the same problem on the same side, so jiggled around with the ground for a little and it worked. Later it went out again and while driving it went back on and for the next two days it worked. It's out again now and I have yet to play around with it.

View 41 RepliesJust bought 2012 hyundai accent and not sure if I have air conditioning. The dealer wasn't sure but didn't think so. It has all the dials, heat works, defroster works, circulation button seems to work, but just air blows when I turn the dial to cold. If I have all this stuff, does that mean I have AC and its just not connected or takes forever to start to work (read about this issue on some forums). If I don't have AC would it be easy to install since I do have all this stuff?
View 20 RepliesSo, I just got home and turned off the ignition. I then accidentally clicked off ECO. When I went to press the button again, it lights up and it does on my dash as well, but once I let go of the button, they are both off. I thought this had something to do with the car being off, so I started it and I still couldn't get ECO to go on.
Am I doing something wrong or is it possible that the button is broken?
I have a weird sound from my car air condition, i just need to check if all Rb`s have the same sound or just me. When the air condition is on and car RPM between 850 & 1000, A quite VOoOm sound is heard and you can feel some vibration under your feet. when rpm is more than 1000 the sound disappear, the sound comes only when AC is ON. I start investigating the noise and i when i open the hood and put my hands on the pipes Low and high of the AC, i feel this sound and vibration inside the pipes, i tried to keep the pipes a bit away from the body by putting some rubber, the sound and vibration decreased. why such sound appear at low RPM? Every thing in the AC is normal. I went to the dealer service center and they though it was the AC compressor, and change it, but the sound still there.
View 3 RepliesI have started noticing a hum or vibration that I can feel in the pedals when I am cruising around 50-60mph. Doesn't matter what gear (automatic trans) I am in, I can feel the gas pedal vibrating slightly at those speeds. Below or above that, it goes away. Any thoughts? I know dealer, dealer, dealer, but wanted to know what you all thought so I can have some direction to lead the mechanic in so they dont tie my car up the whole day.
Don't think it's:
Wheel bearing because I don't hear it all the time.
brakes because I don't feel any vibration at other speeds.
Gear box because I can shift into different gears at different speeds with no sound.
Tires because I just got them rotated and the tread still looks new after 22,000 miles.
My Accent has 89000km (about 54000 miles) and has been pinging under acceleration...tried higher octane gas with no improvement.
View 65 RepliesMy wife had her car go off today while driving. Prior to this happening, she had switched off the engine while in a gas station, with the gear in D. After driving about 13kms more, the car goes off while in motion and doesn't restart immediately. When it finally does, it shudders until finally stabilizing. Could it possibly be due to the single act of switching off while in D gear? The car is a 2013 accent GLS.
View 28 RepliesI've had cars in the past that the fan would come on automatically when the ac was turned on regardless of the temp. Meaning the second the ac button was hit, the cooling fan came on.
I have the 13 GS and it does not come on automatically. Is the fan supposed to come on automatically with ac on or is it temperature driven even with ac on?
