I can't adjust my exterior rear view mirrors with the control button. I tried looking up the fuse in the Owner's Manual and didn't see the one it could be? I checked 51 and 55. Which one it is? Or what else the issue could be? (I am not trying to do this while the car is moving)(2006 Avalon Limited)
View 4 RepliesMy '11 Ltd. r.v.mirror has the backup camera, and is attached to the windshield 2 inches below the top, order to clear the GPS, antenna, theft, ( ? ) hardware..... I'm over 6 ft. and it seems to needlessly block too much of the front field of vision,......anyway, I've tried to adjust it as high as it'll go and it's still an inch from the top. Is this as far up as these mirrors can be set?
View 3 RepliesWhenever the wife drives my car she adjusts the rear rear view window which means I have to adjust it when I get it back. Each time the mirror is adjusted the rear view camera in the mirror gets the blue screen of death. A little later the rear view mirror will start working again.
2011 Avalon with 120K miles
Another issue just cropped up with my 2006 Avalon....
On startup, the front button on the climate control flashes for several seconds. The system will not heat on the left side, but the right will.
Having trouble with the auto dimming mechanism of the rear view mirror? Mine seldom dims when driving at night when other cars are behind me hitting the mirror with their headlights.
I tested it by shining a small flashlight on the sensor and it responds as expected, but it just doesn't work in the real world. I don't think my expectations are too high as my wife's Camry mirror works great, just not my Avalon...
Of course the dealer said it was operating correctly after shining a light on it in the shop, but wasn't interested in doing a road test.
Well the warmer weather is approaching and I have decided to venture out and replace a chipped door indicator lens. What is the procedure for removing the plastic body coloured housing? I am assuming that once the mirror glass has been removed the housing will probable be held in place by some screw fixings, but I'm guessing!
View 7 RepliesWe just got the car and I know for fact the CC worked before. Now I don't even get a light when pushing the on/off button on the end of that incredibly weak column arm.
Is there a fuse, or relay? I checked under the hood in the fuse/relay box everything there seems fine, although I don't know if 1 of those relays controls the CC?
2006 Avalon
Whenever I start the car at the moment, the rear view and wing mirrors are both in the dimmed position and I have to press the button under the rear view mirror to clear them to normal operation. Why this is happening? I can't find anything in the FAQ which covers it.

View 11 RepliesThe tire pressure monitor comes on when there is only .5 difference in one tire. Then it won't go off.
Also, the driver's side mirror will not program and it has a mind of its own just changing randomly every time I back in.
2012 Avalon Limited. Is it possible to somehow adjust the sound volume of the turn signals? I can't hear the blinker at all, and can't see arrow at a glance due to where I have to set seat. I find myself being one of those idiots driving down the street with blinker going.

The sunshade will go up when you push button but will not go back down when put in reverse or pushing the button. The control arms move about 2-3 inches and stops.

View 1 RepliesI bought a used 2013 F150 Limited. The truck only had 24,000 miles on it and is still under the 36/36 warranty.
I tried to use the rear defroster and the button never stayed on. As I started to investigate the truck through the owners manual I realized that it was supposed to come with heated mirrors, standard equipment on the limited, and it shows them on the VIN build out. It does not have the heated mirrors installed.
I take it to my local dealer to get the rear defroster fixed and have the mirrors installed and the dealer won't do it. I have to call Ford and open a case. I do this and Ford rejects my claim since I bought it used.
To me this shows a very poor business ethic and is disrespectful to a long time loyal Ford customer. To be honest this has really ticked me off and completely turned me off towards Ford.
06 limited. I lost the Toyota book that has the procedure in it to change the smartkey system's door handle button to unlock all of the doors instead of just the drivers door.
View 5 RepliesI was wondering from the community if they ever hear a "motor" sound or like a "leveling" sound coming from the steering/instrument cluster area after you press the keyless start button (not starting the car). To me I was thinking it's like the car is maybe moving the steering column kinda like how luxury cars move the steering away to allow people to get in and out. But I don't believe the steering wheel is powered since I adjust it using the levers. Just wondering what this sound is for, worried something isn't right with that.

View 5 RepliesI didn't need to replace the rear shoes. I just did it because the front brake pads were worn and I thought the rear shoes might be worn also. The front brakes were super easy to replace. The rear brakes not so easy. I ended up using a breaker bar and a 32mm axle socket wrench just to loosen the spindle/hub nut so I could remove the brake drum.
I re-assembled the brakes shoes and springs exactly like it shows in my Haynes manual. The new shoes are shaped identical to the ones I replaced. Now I can't get the shoes to seat tight when I apply the brakes and my parking brake isn't working at all, although I can see the parking brake lever move on the trailing shoe when the lever on the console in the car is raised and lowered.
I did as the manual directed. After putting the wheels back on, I applied the brakes "forcefully" a number of times while I was driving forward and backward. This was supposed to auto adjust the brakes. There is no adjuster slot. (The front brakes are stopping fine.)
The old shoes weren't that worn when I replaced them, so the parking brake shouldn't be totally out of adjustment. I don't want to remove the console and start messing with the parking brake cable adjustment until I can figure out what I must have done wrong when I worked on the rear brakes. It seems like the adjuster lever pawl is not working?
I have a 2007 Sonata and the rear driver side exterior door handle broke. How to repair it? Does the interior panel need to come off? I see a screw under the pivot side and an interior bolt through an access port from the inside.
