I am not sure where or how or even what parts to buy? It looks like the mirror itself and the wiring is ok and that only the frame or structure that held it on is broken? Is there someone out there that can refer me to a parts diagram or simple instructions that I can follow to fix it?
View 4 RepliesI guess I put some scratches in the drivers (left) side door mirror. My micro fiber towel must have had some forein material in it. if I can order and just replace the mirror part? or do I have to order the complete assembly? It's a 2014 Avalon XLE with the heated mirror option. At certain agles I see swearl scratches right in the middle of the mirror.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 Avalon Limited. Just recently when I have the air turn on, it blows warm/hot air on the drivers side where the passenger side is cold as ice??? What gives??? I have the dual zone feature, and the drivers site is warm weather its on dual zone or regular.
View 7 RepliesReplaced the battery on my 07 the other day, and subsequently discovered my passenger side power window would not open or close from driver side control switch. Initially thought the worse of course, that I needed a new motor for the passenger side window. Then I tried the passenger side window switch and the window worked fine.
So now, I think that the switch for the passenger side window (on the driver's side) is bad, and I will need to replace the whole switch control module. Did a search and found the root cause and solution to the problem. Apparently, after replacing a battery, I needed to RESET the passenger side switch from the passenger side, by HOLDING the switch approx. 3 seconds after raising and lowering the window two times.
The air on the driver side in my 2007 Avalon blows out warm and on the driver side it is slightly cool but not cold.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2011 limited and around 41 mph I get a lot of wind noise from the top of the driver side A pillar. I did some research and it seems like it's a known issue. During my research I found there may have been an advisory issued (T-TT-0065-10) by Toyota, but the dealer can't find a record of it.
I've heated the seals / molding around the top of the door and re-fluffed it which didn't work. The seals are doing their job. When I pressure wash the car no water is getting in (never did). Tried sealing the gaps with blue painters tape to stream line the gaps and that didn't work. I'm pretty sure the noise isn't caused by the seal. It's difficult to pinpoint.
The driver-side nozzle on our Avalon is clogged but the passenger works great.
We have tried wires, needles and spray air cans but to no effect.
I want to remove the nozzle from under the hood (it is not on top) but do not want to break it.
How to do that?
I need to replace the hub assembly on the rear drivers side of my 2005 Avalon touring. I just need to know if the hub is pressed into the bracket that it is bolted to with 4 bolts or not. I would prefer it be the latter but I just want to know what to do with it. I took it all apart but decided to put it back together once a saw the back end of it seemed to be pressed into the bracket. Maybe it's not, I just need to know how to get the original off and get the new one on.

Headlight on the drivers side goes on but then after approx. 30-45 seconds goes out. The passenger side and the brights are ok.
How do you replace the low beam bulb? which bulb do I purchase?
Is there a video showing the way to get at and remove/replace the bulb.
A spring popped out of the door pocket in the driver side door when someone tried to clean it pulling it out (which they shouldn't have done). I have the two springs but I need a diagram on how to open the door to get inside the panel to put it back. How the door comes apart ? I can try to guess but you know there is always a trick.

View 4 RepliesTwice now I have taken my 2011 Avalon to a drive-thru car wash and had the roof molding pop out of the channel. The first time I had this problem was when I went to a car wash that had large roller brushes that contact the vehicle. When I exited the car wash I saw that the driver's side roof molding had popped out. It was a quick fix to just pop it back in but of course the concern is that it could come all the ways out and be lost either on the road or in the wash bay.
So, for the next wash I took it to a "touchless" wash and when I pulled out the bay I saw that the passenger's side roof molding had popped out of its channel. So, I am guessing that since there are no brushes contacting the car that it is either the power of the blow dryer or the power of the water spray or a combination of all the above that is causing them to pop out.
I am sure this is pure coincidence but we had to have a new battery put in my wife's '09 Avalon. Later in the day we noticed that the front window switch for the passenger window on the drivers side, does not work. The one on the passenger door works fine so it's not the motor. How difficult are these to replace? BTW, the window lock switch is NOT on.
View 13 RepliesI've been having this ongoing clunk in the front of my 06 Avalon for about a month now. When I slightly hit the brake i'm getting almost a metal on metal clunk sound from right in front of the drivers side wheel area, or possibly on the other side wheel well area, and not sure if its related but a popping noise when i turn my wheel a certain way it seems.
Replaced:
Both CV axles
Both Rotors
Both transmission mount and engine mount (left and right side)
Dog Bone torque bar on top
Drivers side caliper
Control arms
Struts were replaced 6 months ago, and reused old mounts, so I took it out and replaced the strut mount with the bearing on passenger side only.
Control arms have been replaced 4 or 5 times in 6 months because they keep cracking, they are being installed correctly and still having the issue, they're slightly cracked right now (many tiny little rips in the rubber rear bushing of the front control arms) perhaps this is the problem and they're flexing too far? They're Dorman and ordered off of amazon. I have 2 replacement ones arriving tomorrow and will throw them in.
124k miles. I have had multiple shops look at it and cant figure it out, they said everything is tight. One shop said it was internal transmission.
On my sister's 2009 avalon unlimited, the remote will only unlock the rear drivers side door. If the door handle is grasped to unlock the doors, only the rear drivers side door unlocks. On the inside of the car, the drivers side door unlock switch (master switch) does nothing. The passengers side door unlock switch only unlocks the rear drivers side door. The bottom line is that only the rear drivers side door locks and unlocks using the remote or passenger side door unlock button on the inside of the vehicle.
View 5 RepliesI have a 05 Avalon XLS and I've just discovered an issue with my climate control. It's that time of year that things are warming up so we started using A/C and found that driver's side vents are blowing warm air while passenger side vents are blowing cold. I've tried varied temps and dual mode on and off as well as auto and manual control. Nothing makes a difference. I suspect some sort of thermostat for the driver's side, but I really have no clue.
View 1 RepliesWe took my 08 Touring down to Florida for our vacation, and while she performed great- {average 28-32mpg @ 70ish mph} -she fell shy of expectations when we hit a few light rains. At speeds above 70 the drivers wiper blade would clear on the up stroke but not on the down stroke....yes, 1st thoughts are go slower, but that isn't a real answer for me.
Before leaving I installed new brakes {rotors/pads/hardware} all around, new Michelin tires {all 5} and "new wiper blades" {rain-X}. The new brakes were very useful going thru the stop and go traffic in Atlanta, the new tires were very useful in the twisties of Tennesee's hills...but the wipers had me getting lapped often on the way back home due to the lifting issue above 70, so I kept to 65-70mph.
The way I see it, it's either the wiper blades not having enough "ramp" on the blade for the wind to push it down at speed, or the wiper arm tension spring is going soft.
My car is an '08 with 154k...{no leaks/motor still has great power/went 3400 miles and she didn't burn a drop of oil!}.
My '11 Ltd. r.v.mirror has the backup camera, and is attached to the windshield 2 inches below the top, order to clear the GPS, antenna, theft, ( ? ) hardware..... I'm over 6 ft. and it seems to needlessly block too much of the front field of vision,......anyway, I've tried to adjust it as high as it'll go and it's still an inch from the top. Is this as far up as these mirrors can be set?
