I have a 2014 Azera Limited and find it odd that the trunk doesn't have some kind of hydraulic system and just swings open so loosely, especially for a luxury car. Either way, my trunk makes a a creaking sound when fully opened and then again when I start to pull down from the fully opened position. Just wondering if this is normal. It just sounds cheap and is kind of annoying.
View 1 RepliesSo I use my sunroof pretty regularly and a week ago I opened it to an alarming creaking sound. It opened fine but when I closed it it sits. I called the dealer and even though I only have 20k miles the warranty expired 2 weeks ago. How screwed am I here?
View 3 RepliesI am the new owner of a 2015 ES350 and I've found that my trunk can be opened using the button under the trunk lip even when I don't have the key fob in my possession (my 2014 Dodge Charger does the same thing). How to prevent anybody without the key fob in their possession from accessing my trunk?

I saw a lot of complaints about the liftgate height, but no number.
I took my car in to get this checked out, but they say they can't hear it.
Sometimes when I turn my car on right after I turn it on, there's a loud humming sound like a compressor or something is kicking on and it's not fully engaging. And it only makes the sound for maybe 3-5 secs. Sometimes it won't happen when I turn the car on, but when I'm driving and I let off the gas and go to touch the brakes, it'll start.
The best I can describe it is a 'hum'...but it's loud, and I can feel it as if it's near the gas pedal right behind the firewall.
Dealer thought maybe it was the ABS switch testing itself..but they could never reproduce....I got in after they replaced my rims and checked it...and it did it 4 times when I started it, then turned it off. He came out to check, and it was almost as if you couldnt hear it outside of the car.
So, what the sound might be...I can't reproduce it anytime I'm there. Figures...... but I hear it almost daily. He put some foam tape on the firewall behind the gas lines saying the 'pulsing' from them might be doing it...but it did it again this morning.
How do i access the top speaker in dashboard? , i think something is loose there...

View 13 Replies2012 Sonata Limited... I purchased my car in November of 2011. It had allegedly been driven for 5500 miles by a salesperson at the dealership.
Within a week, both my husband and I noticed that the cruise control would simply not go on every once in a while. The dealer claims to have taken apart the cruise control, looking for problems, but says there are no problems; that I should come back in after docummenting problems more specifically.
I also continue to hear the creaking noise in the sun-roof area. Allegedly, the Body Shop adjusted the headliner clips, but I still hear creaking.
I am most concerned with the cruise control, but annoyed at the dealer for keeping my car for over two weeks and having achieved nothing. I like the car, but this kind of a start with it makes me want to sell it and go get either another Honda or a used Volvo.
I have a 2008 Hyundai Azera and out of nowhere the moonroof quit working. It is almost closed - only 1/2 inch open - so I can live with it but would like to fix it. My mechanic said that the problem was software that only the dealer could fix. Called my 2 local dealers and they were absolutely clueless.
View 8 RepliesA few times I have gone into the garage and found the trunk lid of the car open. It could be that I am inadvertently pressing the key while in my pocket. I am not sure that this is the case since it takes quite a hard long press to open the trunk. Is it possible to have a signal interference or a signal being generated by something else that cause the trunk lid to open?
View 1 RepliesIve got a 2011 Sonata GLS with 111k miles. I purchased the car new. For the past several months the brakes make a crunch or creaking sound when the pedal is being pressed OR released. The funny thing is it only happens when driving forward. When I apply the brakes while reversing, the brakes are silent. I did a pad slap at 68k and have taken everything apart, cleaned and re-lubed to no avail. The sound can be heard at the front wheels when someone else works the pedal while the car is parked. Pads have about 50% thickness. Pads? Calipers, master cylinder?

Most of the sedans I've owned in the last 25 years had a way to prevent the trunk from being unlocked from the inside without the non-Valet key. Sometimes it would be by turning the trunk lock in a particular way, or there might be a way to disconnect the passenger compartment lever with the non Valet key.
On this base model Camry however, it seems the trunk will always unlock with the hand lever, and the valet key is only for keeping the glove box locked. Is this right?
I purchased a new 2012 Toyota Avalon and had the dealer install a trunk spoiler before I picked it up. Unless the trunk is completely opened and seated, the lid falls down--most times while your head or hands are in the way. I went back to the dealership and they told me that the lifting mechanism was working correctly and that they had never heard of this happening before. They also said Toyota does not make a heavier duty lifting mechanism.
Their advise was basically get used to it because, after all, it is my fault because I requested the spoiler in the first place or to see a member of their sales staff and try to work out a deal on a new 2013 car. I cannot believe that I am the only Avalon owner who has a spoiler on their car. I have talked to the owners of other makes of cars who have spoilers on their cars and not one of them has this problem. Most will hold its position when lid is even less than 1/2 opened.
Maybe around 35000 miles, experienced a creaking noise when you brake? The car typically does it after warming up, but every time I come to a complete stop, the rear of the car produces a creaking noise right before the braking completes. I brought it to Hyundai, they couldn't replicate it. So I took them for a drive myself, and was able to replicate it, however the technician had never heard or experienced this before. So far it's intermittent, but whenever it's more constant I'll bring it in again.
View 6 RepliesMy wife and I have an 08 Azera GLS. Been to the dealer for a few things. I guess the biggest was a TSB about Timing chain guides. Also replaced the TPS sensor. Transmission had a down shift shutter.
My question is the left front door creaks when open all the way. Mechanic a dealership said he had the door off of the car and believe that "the metal layers the hinges bolt through have become slightly separated and rubbing or creaking when reaching the end of its travel". He believes they will have weld the body or something. There is only 12000 km on the Azera.
Creaking dashboard on 2008 azera ... I bought silicone spray to try not sure if this will work.
View 1 RepliesI have 2008 azera and the dash is creaking noise, I tried felt tape across the length of the dash still the noise, sounds like the windshield is flexing or the dash is flexing when I take off and driving any solutions don't tell me to turn up the volume on the radio.
View 3 RepliesSometimes after opening fully, my trunk drops down again about halfway. I cannot think of any logical explanation for this. Moreover, it doesn't happen all the time. But the occurrences are pretty unpredictable. I took the car in to my service dept. and the trunk worked flawlessly. But later that same day, it malfunctioned. It makes a noise as it drops and comes down at a rather fast speed. In fact it's rather scary because if it didn't stop about half-way, it could be potentially harmful.
This happens even when there is no-one near the trunk.
My parents have a 2008 Azera with 65k miles on it. Bumper to bumper warranty has expired. Their trunk will not close. It doesn't seem to latch. Any recommendations before I take it to the dealer? What the cost may be to have it fixed?
