What is it that is making a fast clicking sound in the back under the car every time i turn my key to on?? It last for maybe 5 minutes or so then goes off...Not a clue !!
View 4 RepliesI just bought the car a week ago 90% of the time it shifts great sometimes shifting very rough and going through the gears way too fast....sometimes its jerky on the interstate as if odd kicking in and out today i jump in cold takes off great get 1.5 miles out and starts slipping the further the more it slips if you let it cool it does just fine again until 1 mile or so and repeats...
Took to auto zone and read fault codes...p0440 evap (expected that one due to its age and mileage 186000)...p0742... stuck on(paper says) tcc commanded off by the ecm-tcc slip detected after off command...p1860..pwm solenoid electrical fault(paper says).. The ecm has detected an improper voltage level on the tcc pwm solenoid circuit...
Fluid level correct and not burnt up although slightly dirty... I have added sea foam to the fluid and what the heck does pwm stand for?
I have a 96 SSEI, it has been sitting for one year....I put it back on the road yesterday and done some shopping, and found out the key won't open the trunk so i tried the button on the door and it didn't work either. So how can i get the trunk open, I couldn't find the fuse the the release button.
View 11 RepliesSo...I'm driving home yesterday and hit my left turn signal when all I get is a fast clicking sound. The light on the dash did not light up at all. Right signal is working fine.
Checked it out in the driveway -- my left signal is totally out. No front, rear or dash light when I hit the left turn signal. When I hit the hazard switch, I get only a right blinking light. The right turn signal functions as normal.
I thought this was probably a bad bulb so I replaced both the front AND the rear bulbs. Got no love - same results.

View 8 RepliesI recently starting hearing a very audible clicking/ticking sound in the rear that happens for about a second each time the car is started. After, everything seems to be just fine, but I don't know if this is something I should be concerned about.
I recently did some suspension work and I don't know if this is somehow related or if I'm now just extra sensitive to the sounds my car makes after the work was done. Perhaps the auto parking brake disengaging?
This is in reply to a question I just heard on the radio show from Stash (sp?) I believe. He has a jetta and the there is a fast clicking coming from the turn signal after it is used and returns to the "neutral" position. I have a GTI of similar vintage and replacing the blinker did not work. What does work is even cheaper! Get some CRC electronics cleaner from the local auto store and spray out inside of the turn signal switch. What happens is, over the years the lube inside of the switch wears away, allowing the contacts to wear against each other, creating little metal debris that ends up completing the circuit. The CRC cleaner dissolves all of the gunk and gives the necessary clearance inside the switch to allow it to function properly.

When I release the brake pedal too fast, the brake pedal bounces back with sound which is a little bit loud to me. I feel the sound is from the spring if there's one. It's annoying so I have to remove my foot from the brake very slowly. Is it normal?
View 20 RepliesMy dad has a 1998 S10, 4.3 2wd. He said it gave all clues to a starter going out. We replaced the starter and solenoid, charged the battery and got clicking. The lights turn, radio, etc. When we turn it over, we get clicking and that's it. Not sure where to go from here?

The Ford dealer said it's normal for the type of trans and handed me the following statement: " ....vehicles equipped with the Powershift DPS6 transmission may experience a clicking noise from the transmission after the doors are unlocked, opened and prior to the engine starting, for up to 3 min.

Hearing such a ridiculous sound/concept about waking up a transmission. Note, this noise even happens when you open the passenger door. Why does the transmission need to be waked up for someone getting in the passenger side. The car cannot be driven from here.
I drive a 94 Saturn SL1 as a part-time delivery driver for a pizza shop. Recently I bottomed out on someone's driveway. I could hear the bottom of my car scraping against the asphalt. It took several tries (in my 5-speed) to free myself from this trap. Since then I've been hearing a pretty loud "clicking" noise from the passenger side of the car every time I make a turn, where a small turn or a big turn. My mechanic replaced the left axle and the right boot, saying that both were defective. However I still hear the noise. What can I do??
View 3 RepliesI just got a used low-milage 2013 LS460, and noticed that every time I tap the break pedal I hear a "clicking" sound coming from under the dash or hood. This seems to happen every time I touch or press on the brakes, at seemingly any speed. It sounds almost like an actuator of some kind... perhaps like the type which allows the transmission to shift out of park. Is this normal, or an indication of a an issue?
View 14 RepliesI've been having an electrical issue for the past few months that I've decided to address now that the weather is getting a little warmer.
What happened is the left turn signal was blinking fast, so I assumed bad bulb, and later that day it stopped blinking fast and now I press the lever down to indicate a left turn and there is a quite loud buzzing sound. Sounds like it's coming from where the relays are, but I've replaced them and the bulbs and still nothing has changed.
I've also replaced the multifunction switch to see if that was an issue, but a new one did the same thing so I returned it.
Running lights work all around, but now there are no left blinkers, and also my left brake light doesn't come on. Pulling a trailer I have the same problem, I had the plug tested and only 3 of the pins have anything to them.
I know nothing about auto electrical systems.
My 2010 toyota corolla LE headliner makes a clicking sound in the back. This usually happens when I go over a rough road.
View 4 RepliesMy sis drove the Phaeton yesterday and we had to go through some nerve-wrecking parking. The gaps were only a few milimetres across but luckily we made it through the lot in the end. Anyway, we had to do a lot of full steering turns (that is, when the wheel is turned to its maximum) and there's a worrying clicking sound that goes on until the steering is turned back from its maximum radius. Is it a problem or just a minor thing?

View 1 RepliesMy car was looking really rough, covered in salt. I took it to a car wash which was across the street from where i was staying last night. After the car wash, I drove home about 1 min. The car sat overnight (temp to -5).
The car won't start today. When I turn the key, it makes a "whirring" sound but doesn't turn over. No clicking. Good power, all lights are on. Put a booster battery back on the battery to try to rule out a batter issue, still no start.
Can the starter actually freeze? I'll never wash the car again.
