I have a 2013 Camry. This morning I put my car in neutral and rolled out of my garage into my driveway. After cleaning my car I drove back into my garage but noticed that the brake warning light stayed on. I checked the parking brake and fluid level and no problems there. I took a drive around the block and the brakes worked fine. Why this warning light is on?
View 3 RepliesI noticed today, coming to work, my "Brake" warning light is on, on my dash panel. I engaged and disengaged the parking/emergency brake, thinking maybe was stuck there, but the light did not go out.
Is this related to my parking brake or my 4 wheel brakes? I have 4500 miles on this car. It is an XLE, 4 cyl. First time something like this has occurred since purchasing in December.

View 8 Replies643 miles on a 2016 Camry XLE, while driving down the road, the BSM warning malfunction warning light came up for the 3rd time in 4 weeks of owning the vehicle. BSM works after restarting the car, but it looks like it's a recurring issue.
I was putting off buying a new car from dealer for years because I know even new cars have glitches and recalls. This is not a HUGE issue, but extremely annoying when the car still smells new and you get a BOINK while driving down the freeway.

I checked all tires and the pressure is 35 PSI but the warning light is still on, how to turn it of or reset it?
I own a 2012 Toyota Camry LE (TCLE), and recently I've noticed that the "instrument cluster" shows "MAINT REQD" warning light on for more than a few seconds when I start the car. All other warning lights do turn off while the "MAINT REQD" is still ON for a few seconds more than I usually remember. This car has about 25K miles, and I bought it with 19K miles. Should I take it to a dealer for a check up? By the way, I was waiting until the end of February to take the car for a oil change, but I am now concerned with this stupid WARNING light

View 4 RepliesI just noticed this morning that the "warning" light (orange triangle with exclamation point) is on in the Multi Info Display in the middle of the dash ONLY when the engine is off. I scrolled to it and it says "check charging system" with the battery logo. When i turn the engine on, the warning light goes away.
The battery logo does not light up where the gauges are. Does this mean the battery is okay? Its confusing and the manual does not clear it up.
Am I correct in assuming that I'm low on battery only if the battery logo lights up where the gauges are? I have no issues when starting the engine or anything.
My completely un-modified fully-loaded V6 Camry SE is currently in the shop getting the brake actuator assembly changed after almost a YEAR of these lights randomly coming on. There was no rhyme or reason. I'm a tad OCD so if there was a pattern,I'd have found it. Never came on to where they could test it. Said they could do nothing until they saw them. I took photos, but they acted like they'd never seen it before. Finally, as I was just ready to pass the dealership, they came on. I pulled in and they checked and said the lights came on right when I "was going 4mph, on an angled curve with my foot on the brake!"
And after an hour and a half said I needed to leave the car, gave me a warranty rental, and said they'd call me. I called them to learn it was the actuator assembly that was going to be replaced and one would be overnighted in. So I have a 4-cyl rental without all of my perks, like the moonroof, the heated seats, the automatic rear view mirror, back up camera.....what a difference! I'm spoiled after 19 months of my Camry! Oh, and when I first got it, there was a bad musty odor from the a/c vents every time I turned it on. I bought it with 55 miles on it...they said "all Toyotas do that."
I said this is my 3rd Toyota in a row, and I ah do one in the past. Oh, "brand new Toyotas," they said. My corolla was 6months old when I bought it. After 2 years, I traded it in for a brand new FJ Cruiser, then traded that in 6 years later for this brand new Camry. Nothing! Finally, I get a notice in the mail from Toyota re: a/c condenser pan overfills, not draining, and can cause airbag problem! was that stench water in the pan, seeping in through the vents smelling like a dirty rag not enough of an explanation that something was wrong. We had to wait until it could have been an airbag issue? Yikes! Happy that took care of the problem and my new car smell was back in no time. How it goes with the lights!
In my one-owner purchased-new 2005 Prius w/ 74K miles and w/ no maintenance/accident history other than doing all scheduled maintenances at Toyota Dealers along w/ recalls applicable at each time (other than we had Toyota replace the 12V battery last year just because I knew it would die at some point anyway and I don't like pushing my luck; I'm not 100% certain if there's been a recall on any water pump for this car and if so, don't believe the dealer has mentioned it), I have the following indicators which appeared all at once while I was driving along at around 45 MPH in no unusual circumstances (80F, dry afternoon, about 30 minutes into a trip of mixed speeds, no loads in the vehicle, no effect on the car while driving):
From Left to Right on the display:
1) Red Triangle - Master Warning Light
2) Orange (Symbol)CHECK - Malfunction Indicator Lamp
3) Orange (!) - Brake Warning Light (but it didn't highlight the word 'Brake' in red)
4) Orange VSC - Vehicle Stability Control Warning Light

We immediately aimed for the house (about 5 miles away); the car drove perfectly fine, with the engine stopping and starting at lights as needed, with speeds going from the 55MPH we were traveling at the time of the alarms down to 0 and back up thru 35/45 MPH and such per normal off-interstate driving. The battery currently shows all the blue bars, and the engine and hybrid systems showed charge/discharge as usual as we drove. There was no discernible change in the driving reaction of the car to brake, steering, accelerator, etc.
Three days ago while stopped at a light the car creeped forward forcing me to press harder on the brake to keep vehicle from moving.
Next day drove for 100+ miles with some stop and go traffic no problems. Third day drove 50 miles and upon arriving at home brakes felt spongy and nearly hit the floor the dash illuminated "Check Brake System".
My Camry has 5437 miles on it.
The dealer just called and said they need to replace a "brake booster". They said there is a TSB that addresses this issue in a VIN range.

I'm glad I was only stopping to pull into my drive way and not the freaking stop and go freeway traffic on the way to work in the morning.
I've got some issues with my 2005 Toyata Prius (~150,000 miles). My wife was driving recently and the "Master Warning Light", the "Hybrid System Warning Light" and the yellow "Brake System Warning Light" all came on.
Some quick reading of the owners manual said we should take it to a dealer right away, but because it was a yellow, and not red, brake system warning light it seems ok to drive at least to a dealer. in regard to the yellow brake system light the manual said it could be that: "the regenerative brake system failed or that the hydraulic brake system failed".
Now, I have a cheap bluetooth OBD reader hooked up to the "torque" app on my phone and I thought I would try to see what error codes there were to learn more. But strangely, it did not read any fault codes. I've used this reader successfully on my 2001 Mitsubishi galant, but I'm not reading anything for the prius in this case. I'm not sure if there is legitimately no error code associate with the warning lights or if my app is just failing to read them for some reason.
Having issue with the hand brake? It works fine, just when I want to release it, the brake light stays on and when you drive away hand brake warning comes up and I have to play with the handle to make the brake light go away after release...

View 6 RepliesStarting a few days ago, three lights on my dashboard display started to turn on. Sometimes they don't turn on for a few minutes after the car is running, but they do eventually turn on. The first is a red "BRAKE" light above the gas gauge. The second is a yellow/orange "ABS" light above the speedometer. And the last is a yellow/orange symbol of a car sliding, or swerving, this one besides the RPM gauge. What do they mean and why would they suddenly start turning on together?
View 2 RepliesThe Tire Pressure Warning System display on my XLE hybrid shows icons for four tires in a horizontal row with the pressure readings beneath each icon. The icons are not arranged in the logical layout of two by two. There is no indication to which tire an icon corresponds. In other words, if the display indicates low pressure beneath one of the four icons in the horizontal row, you do not know to which tire the icon corresponds.
View 14 RepliesWe recently purchased a used 2006 Prius. The vehicle has approximately 74K on it now. Well the other day my wife went to leave work and pressed the power button while pressing the brake pedal, and the Master Warning Light and brake warning light both came on. The car would not allow her to shift the car so she tried to turn it off and it wouldn't do that either. After about 5 minutes she finally got the car to turn off, and when she restarted the sequence everything went back to normal and she drove home fine.
We called 2 dealers and they both seem to be confused by the symptoms, but one thought that maybe the battery was old on the transmitter. So thinking that might make sense I replaced the battery with a new one.
I installed some 5K HID's with 35W ballasts and a relay on my 15 toyota camry SE. When I start the system, it says check charging system and once the engine starts it goes away. I initially had 50W ballasts installed but I changed it to 35W as the 50W caused the HIDs to be too bright for my taste.

If you pull out to pass a car and don't use the turn signal does it give a warning the entire time you're in the "wrong lane" ? Does the warning stop when you're back in the lane you left?

I tried to push on it but no clicking noise at all it wont grab or anything. How to fix my E-Brake?. Or is it still safe to drive it to get to Toyota service?. How much the replacement parts? car got only 16k miles is it still cover with warranty?
