I was jacking up front end the car started to roll back!, I had the parking brake on, so do I like bricks behind the back tires? or do i have to jack the back end up put the jacks under the car, then the front?
View 9 RepliesI have been having problems with my drivers side power window on my 06 Ford F-150. At first, it would roll down, but wouldn't roll back up, so I replaced the switch. After replacing the entire power window control switch, if you push the switch for the drivers window down, it will start to go down, then stop, and you have to press it about 20 times to get it all the way down. You can definitely hear the switch clicking off. All the other windows work perfect. I took it to get the oil changed and asked about it, and they said to change out the regulator, which I did, but the same thing happens. I checked the fuse and that was fine. Is there a relay or something I should check?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2012 Toyota Camry and I noticed that when I am on a slight upward hill, my Camry will slowly roll back if I don't have my brake pedal applied. Does this happen to you and is it normal? This is my first new car and my old car which was a 94 lincoln never did this even on very steep hills.

View 4 RepliesI drive a 2011 GTI. The other day I left my car parked in the sun for a while so it was all hot and stuffy inside when i came back. I rolled down all four windows and then pulled out the key after they were all the way down. Within like 3-5 sec, all four windows rolled back up by themselves.
This kinda threw me off cause I didn't expect that to happen. I tried to show my friend later to impress him but it didn't do it. So im thinking whether that was just one of those freaking moments that only happens once, or is this an actual feature that comes in the GTIs.
When driving Prius v 2012, I've noticed that prius will roll back a bit when stopped on a steep slope. I think it is due to cvt transmission design.
For example Subaru have a "hill holder" button, I did not noticed anything like this on prius or is there one?
So for some reason today, my passenger (front) window decided that it doesn't want to stay shut when I auto roll it from both the driver and passenger side switches. It will go all the way up, and then roll back down approximately 2-3 inches like it is doing a pinch protection. If it is rolled all the way up manually it stays up. I have visually checked the track and don't see any obstructions, which I didn't expect to find since it will stay up when done manually. Is there something I'm missing or an easy fix?

Its holding the brakes for me on an incline, I am assuming its normal, but kinda surprised I didn,t see anything in the owners manual or on the window sticker about it
View 6 RepliesRecently had a driver's side window replaced in my 99 GMC Sierra. Also had the regulator and a door handle replaced as they were broken as well, but I knew this going in. Was informed I needed a new master switch and had them order/install.
Today I turned the key on and the window began rolling down on it's own. I hit the switch to stop it, which it did, but only as long as I held the switch down. Now the window is all the way down and will not roll back up. Passenger side window works fine from either switch. Door locks work as well for whatever that's worth.
We had light snow here in Boston tonight, and its a little chilly, nothing crazy. I get into my car after finishing work, start the car as normal and clear the snow off the windows.
Get back in the car, select 'R' and the car doesn't roll back like usual... I apply some gas and... nothing. I try 'D' and again the engine just revs - its just totally failing to get any gears. Engine oil levels are good.
I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. The driver window controls will not roll down the back windows, but it will close them. What is the issue, I am thinking a broken switch.
View 4 RepliesI have a 1999 GMC Jimmy. Today I rolled my power front passenger window down and it's still there. Main Control panel on driver side won't roll it back up and passenger switch won't roll it up either. All other windows and locks work fine and I do not hear anything when trying to roll the window up. Does this automatically mean the motor just went out all of a sudden?
View 3 RepliesI just recently replaced the driver side 4-button window switch with one from AARodriguez (FixmyVW.com) on my 2001 MKIV Golf. The new switch had been working fine, but over the last few months, the back windows intermittently wouldn't roll down. It was a gradual process that started when I realized that the windows would actually start to roll back DOWN when I was rolling them UP, or was it vice versa... regardless, it was backwards, and I would have to do it a few times to get it to work properly.
Now, the windows won't roll down at all using the driver's switch, but I do hear a click in the back doors as though some connection is being made. The windows just won't budge. The switches on the back doors work flawlessly, so I don't think it's the motors. The switches for the front windows on the new 4-button switch work fine. There's always a possibility I got a bum switch, or that this one went out, I suppose.
When I put my car (04 s60 2.5t) in reverse it hesitate, then when I press the pedal it roll back with a loud clunk noise. But if I put the car in drive before putting it in reverse everything goes smoothly.
View 2 RepliesI've got a 2007 Camry V6. My front rotors were doing great until about 42k miles, when they started vibrating. I knew that it was relatively common, and I replaced them with NAPA OEM parts.
That lasted about 15k, when they started vibrating again.I halfway expected this, and replaced them with high end NAPA parts - ceramic pads, the high end rotor thinking that better parts would equal longer life.
So here I am about 10k or 12k later, and I've got wavy rotors again. I've let it ride for a while, but now I'm tired of it.
Is there a permanent solution for this? A particular brand of pads and rotors? Do I need to replace the whole brake system on both of the front wheels?
I have a 2007 GS 350 and i bought the weather tech window visors for my car with matching floor liners. Both look great on the car but I am having problems with the window visors. Since installing them (following the directions letting them sit for a week or so without opening the windows) I still don't have the automatic feature back to roll up in one click of the switch. once it hits the top of the window the safety feature kicks in and the window rolls back down. if i hold the window switch all the way it will close. I am trying to get back that one click and automatically closes. my friend has the same visors on his is 250 and his still works fine.
View 4 RepliesPassengers can roll down the power windows on front passenger door and both back doors. But, they cannot roll the windows back up. The only way they can do that is to have me do it from the driver door. The window lock button is unlocked. I am thinking some is wrong with the driver main window controller since it all goes back to it.
View 1 Replies05 Camry, 2.4L, 47K. Replaced the front brake pads two months ago. I put in Akebono pads and did nothing with the rotors as the original pads were not completely worn out and there is no vibration whatsoever in the pedal.
The pads have recently started making noise on brake application. I'm getting ready to take them back apart and re-lube everything. Should I take some sandpaper to the pads & rotors to knock off any glazing? Do I hit it with a course or fine grit? I have not had this problem happen in the past and was thinking that maybe it is the quality of the pads but I believe these are oem...
2001 F450/6.8 gasser. Auto trans. This strange thing just appeared from nowhere. Start the truck, put it gear. As soon as the truck starts to roll, the chime begins to sound. If I continue on, it'll beep 80 or 90 times before stopping. As soon as brakes are applied and the wheels stop turning, chime disappears. Happens in forward or reverse. No lights appear in the cluster. A check with an Actron scanner shows no codes or MIL. Seat belts are buckled.
View 4 RepliesI have replaced the passenger side motor and regulator for the window (at the dealer) on my B6 Wagon. Now the windows doesn't roll all the way down. You can still see about 1" of glass when is all the way down. I called the dealer and VW of American and they said these are the upgrades parts and that is why does not roll all the way down. They said that there is nothing else they can do

I know we've got the ghetto scissor jack that comes with the car and fits where the frame meets the chassis on that little lip, but I hate using it because it seems so unstable. I'm an auto-xer and so changing tires quickly and often is a necessity....Where I can do a whole side of the car at once?
