Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Climate Control Turns Off Sporadically

Apr 28, 2013

I purchased an '07 Elantra used about six months ago. Ever since I bought it, an issue with the climate control would pop up every few weeks.

Here's the issue: I'll hear a "click" under the passenger glove compartment, then the climate control would turn off. By "turn off", I mean if I have it on heat, then the heat would turn off. If I have it on AC, then the AC would turn off (including the little green AC light) and I get hot air (not ambient air from outside, but *hot* air). It turns off... then it turns back on. Then maybe a few seconds later it will do it again. Sometimes it turns off for a few seconds, sometimes it turns off for less than a second... for example... AC is on, blowing cold air... *click* :hot air: *click* back to cold air... a few seconds later, same thing happens.

The clicks seem completely random, and not triggered by any events, such as going over bumps in the road.

Elantra GD (2013+) :: Climate Control - How To Disable Automatic AC On / Off

I have an Elantra GT SE with automatic climate control. I would like to know if there is a way to disable the automatic A/C on/off with our system. The problem is that even if the air is cooler outside, the air conditioning is automatically turned on and the fuel economy drops. (I know that we can do this for the base model (to turn off air conditioning while using the defroster).

Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Dash Lights Including Radio And Climate Control Not Working

I just bought a 2005 Elantra GT 5 speed. Nice car but the dash lights (including the radio and climate control) don't work. All fuses are good the rheostat (dimmer) is fine. Checked the continuity from the dimmer to the back of the dash instrument panel all checked OK. Light bulbs are good.

Basically it appears that I am getting power to the panel lights, yet they don't work. The radio appears to be stock with a factory plug. All other lights and electrical gadgets work fine. I can not find a schematic to check grounding.

Lexus GS 2006-11 :: GS300 AC Light Illuminate In Climate Display / Compressor Never Turns On

So warming up around here and and my fiance brings to my attention that the AC is not working in her GS. I fumbled around a bit and found that the fuse in engine compartment is good, ac light does illuminate in climate display, freon is at approx 80psi on low side, and the air does in fact never get the least bit cool. It seems as though the compressor never turns on, now I know that these cars wont kick on if they sense low pressure in the system but it is full.... also swapped ac relay out to no avail

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Auto Climate Control Not Working

I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata that has the digital display for the climate control- which i am assuming is the auto climate control system that is talked about on here frequently. The problem is that the fuse for the climate control system continually blows, causing the display and all controls for the climate control system, to stop working. Put a new fuse it, blows again.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Automatic Climate Control Not Working

Recently noticed that the automatic climate control on my 2006 Sonata stopped working. The temperature readout still shows desired interior temperature but nothing happens when dial is turned all the way up or down. When in manual mode, the heater fan will adjust faster or slower when dial is turned so I still get heat/ac but only by dialing manually. If I switch to automatic mode, the fan will operate in whatever setting it was in when in manual mode. What part do I need to replace in all likelihood and how hard is it to replace?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2009 - Climate Control / Front Defroster Always Comes On In Cold Temp

My 2009 Sonata Limited always has the front window defroster come on in cooler temps when the climate control is set to AUTO. This is aggravating since it shouldn't do that. I took it in for service last year at this time and they didn't find anything wrong and I gave up arguing with the dealer about it.

Is there a sensor or something that is out of adjustment? It comes one when the temp is about 40F or lower and you just start the car after it's been sitting cold. I don't notice it so much when I am out on multiple errands.

Another thing that I notice is that I can never just turn the fans on for air circulation when the temps are moderate, not needing A/C or heat. If it turn the fan on, it always seems to blow cold air feeling like the A/C is on, even if it is not in AUTO mode. I complained about the same thing and the dealer said the unit is operating OK.

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Climate Mode Not Working / Stuck In One Position

I have tried everything I know to fix the mode switch on the climate control. It's stuck in one position and I can't switch to floor or defrost. I've replaced the climate control panel and actuator and I STILL cannot get the modes to switch. I don't know what is is between the two causing it not to work. I've tried everything I know and I just can't seem to get anywhere. I only have a test light to see if voltages change and I can only get the voltage to change on one wire but none of the others.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2006 F250 - Climate Control / AC Vents To Defrost And Blow Normal Air Through

I have a 2006 F-250 Super Cab with climate control. The last three years when the temp exceeds about 85 degrees outside it acts up. It will switch from the AC vents to defrost and blow normal air through, not ac cold. Then it will switch back, when doing so I can hear the internal deflector shudder. It will do this every few minutes. It is extremely annoying. All other times of the year it works fine. My local dealer had the truck last year, but could not find anything wrong. I have used the search and also Googled and while I find similar problems nothing exactly the same.

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Check Engine Light Never Turns On

So I have an issue with my 2004 Elantra GT. I failed inspection because my CEL never turns on. Even when first starting the car. I originally had thought the bulb was burnt out, but it started working fine on its own a couple weeks ago. Then 2 days ago, it stopped working again. So, where should I start in finding the problem? I had a radio installed a couple of years ago, and I have had issues since. Like, my odometer button no longer works, and the radio will occasionally reset when I start the car. So maybe I should remove the dash fascia and see if there are any loose or unplugged wires?

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2009 - While Listening Radio Turns Itself Off And On Intermittently

I have a 2009 Hyundai Elantra. I've been having an issue where my radio turns off and on intermittently. To clarify, it will not turn itself on if the button was off. However, if I'm listening to the radio it can turn itself off and back on again multiple times. This happens on AM/FM/AM and Auxiliary. I'm assuming it happens with CD, but haven't listened to that lately.

Sometimes it happens in rapid succession, other times it's off for five minutes or more and comes back on. Other times it stays off. Sometimes it behaves as it should. It doesn't seem to matter if the car is warmed up or not. Is this merely a wonky fuse or something more sinister?

Hyundai - Elantra :: 2004 - Turns Off In Strong / Sharp Turns

I have one 2004 Hyundai Elantra. It was parked outside for almost a year without being used. I recently installed a new battery and had the front brakes/rotors replaced - they were rusted on so tight the guy had to partly saw them off. So now that I have set the scene, why this car turns off in sharp turns. Luckily this only happened twice as i was driving slowly and turning into my driveway. I can turn the ignition and it goes right back on.

Lexus RX 2010-15 :: Pressing Auto Climate No Longer Turns On A/C Switch

I am trying to determine if my Auto climate is woking correctly. I have 2012 RX350 with NAV.

I believe when I first got the car that when the Auto button was pressed, the AC light (in the climage screen) came on, and was always on. It could only be turned off by powering the fan speed to zero.

However, I now have this situation:

- Auto A/C Mode On (in custum settings)
Climate control is in manual mode with AC light on.....when I press Auto the A/C light turns off (cannot be turned on by repeated presses of auto)

- Auto A/C Mode Off (in custom settings)
Climate control is in manual mode .....when I press Auto the A/C light stays in current condition either on or off.

Summary: pressing Auto no longer turns on the A/C switch (and I believe it used to)

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Cruise Control / Shift Lock Release

2010 Elantra. The other day I noticed that while driving with cruise control on, on the way home from work, pressing the brake pedal didn't turn the cruise control off. I felt the brake work, but the engine started revving like I was holding down the accelerator so I took my foot off and manually turned the cruise control off with the On/Off button. I didn't think much of it at the time other than it hadn't done that previously. Then, when I got home I couldn't put the car in park. The shifter wouldn't move past Neutral up to the Reverse or Park position. Using the shift-lock release push button I was able to put it in park. I'm not sure if the two issues presented here are related, but they both occurred for the first time on the same day. I was hoping it was a random occurrence and it would be better today, but things haven't changed. The brake and accelerator have continued to work just as before and the car feels no different driving it.

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 - Car Is Out Of Control In Snow While Braking Around Turn

My 07 Elantra SE (5 speed manual) without ESC is terrible in the snow. While traveling at almost any speed, and braking around a turn, the rear end (under icy conditions) will break free and the car is out of control. No warning was given. While traveling in a straight line on hard-pack snow (icy) with ruts, the rear end gave way and I ended up in the ditch. Didn't break or turn the wheel prior to this.I love the car but am afraid to drive it in the snow. Does ESC (electronic stability control) take care of this problem? I love the car otherwise; always get over 30 mpg (usually 33-34 mpg).
