When ever I change the temperature up or down there is a humming noise coming from the back of the glove box for a short time. Is there some kind of temperature motor back there?

I recently bought an used 07 elantra w/ only 34000km (21080 miles), the inspection came up fine but he said I would have to change the timing belt within the next year and he said both set of tires (winter and summer) are on their last season.
Yesterday, I was driving for the first time on the highway with it and I notice a pulsating humming noise at speeds of 110km/h and more (~68mph+). I read that I should try and turn to see if the noise is louder, I will do this tonight.
Could it be the bearing even if the car has only 34k or is it probably the worn tires?
Ok at 40 mph and above I have a loud humming noise coming from my left front wheel. I replaced my rotor and pads due to normal wear. I also replaced the bearing. No fix. Tires were rotated a month ago. Could it be my CV joint? The boots are fine.
View 3 RepliesIn my 2013 Elantra, sometimes I hear the squeaky fan noise coming from under the glove compartment when i turned on the heat and it sounds like a cricket. It started around 1 week ago.. Also, rattling problem on the passenger side near around seatbelt.
View 36 RepliesMy girls family has had an 08 elantra 2.0 new since 2008 and I've been doing the work. I recently did the timing belt ( July) with beck arnley oem parts. 65000 miles. I replaced belt, idler, and tensioner.
Right after I did it there was a mild hum at idle. It somewhat did this before the belt so I assumed it was just the new belt in plus the very mild hum it already had.
Recently it is humming very loud and high Pitched. It gets louder with higher rpm. If I take the cover of and move the needle on the tensioner while it's running it quiets down a little but it's an auto tensioner and doesn't stay right where it needs to be AND even when it is at the ideal spot it still hums.
For the past few weeks, I've noticed am occasional humming noise while driving. It seems to happen more frequently at lower speeds (around 15-30 mph, though it has also happened at around 45 mph), and it stops as soon as I apply the break. Turning the A/C on and off does not appear to have an effect, nor does opening/closing the windows (in case the humming noise was just air at a certain vibration), nor does the radio.
I took it to a mechanic, but it didn't happen when he drove it around the block, so he said that it's probably due to tire pressure imbalance, adjusted the pressures, and told me to bring it back if it happens again.
What this is, or what other things I should look for?
06 GS430 has started making this loud clicking noise when we start the car ... not all the time but very often ... it almost sounds like a jackhammer and is extremely loud. Goes on for a good 20-30 seconds then goes away.
The location sounds like it is coming from the glove box area but not really behind it, more below and behind it..
I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra that makes a RRrrrRRRrRRR noise when turning corners - only to the right. It's not a screeching or scraping noise... more of a loud whirring or humming. One note- back left tire was removed and repaired shortly before this began - could that relate?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2009 Sonata GLS with about 45,000 miles on it. Lately when I am driving over 50mph it has been making a very annoying, high pitched humming noise. The noise seems to pulsate on and off. If I am going in a straight line, the noise is present, pulsing steadily. If I turn right, the noise speeds up and gets louder. If I turn left, the noise slows down or goes away completely. The noise is not super loud yet, but it is driving me crazy.
I took it into the dealership and they said it was a tire problem - one is worn more than the others (though not so much that it needs to be replaced yet)
From what I have been reading online, it sounds to me like it's a wheel bearing problem, and possibly the worn tire is a symptom of that problem. However I have also read that the average wheel bearing should last about 100,000 miles with proper maintenance. If it is a wheel bearing, it should be covered under warranty, shouldn't it?
I thought it was the tired due to the cold weather. But now it is warmer the noise is still there. Bareknuckes previously mentioned wheel bearings as a potential problem. The car is driving (sound-wise) like I have some huge mud-bogger tires on or like crossing a cattle-guard continuously. so loud (in the cabin) that sometime I forget to shift because I hear the humming rather than the engine.
View 2 RepliesMy 2006 hyundai accent makes a humming noise while driving. it gets louder the faster i accelerate. I have checked the wheel bearing but they appear to be fine. i jacked the car up and tested the wheel by pulling and pushing back and forth at the 12 o' clock position and etc. no give in either wheel. i also held the spring and spun both wheels with no vibration. I also rotated tires back to front. when i did this noise seemed to be lower.But still there. I did hit a fallen sign on the highway going 70 mph. I am wondering if this may have damaged my tires or if it still could be wheel bearing. and there is no vibration in steering wheel or while driving. just annoying humming.

It doesn't seem to change if I am steering right or left and i have no steering wheel shake or any sort of noticeable bumping at 60mph. Could this just be my tires making noise, they are quite worn by now.
View 12 RepliesThe glove box on my wife's '13 elantra keeps popping open. I guess the little plastic latch that keeps it up is not going into the hole far enough when it's closed, so after a while it slides out.
Would rather avoid a trip to the dealer (not even sure if it would be covered under warranty anymore, the car is over 3 years old).
2007 GS 350. In the past 6 months i have changed my FRONT brake pads with two different pair. First was a generic pad(REMOVED), and did some research then went for Akebono(CURRENTLY) brake pads 2-months noise-free and now back to braking noise dilemma.
Issues:
-In the morning, first 3-5 pressed brakes makes loud(REALLY LOUD!) humming noise then goes away. Feels like the brakes are rusty but it continually does it everyday. I just got the car serviced so assuming all my fluids are filled.
-Randomly, on a fully stopped brake i hear a whistle noise from the front brake. NOT as loud described above.
-I noticed the noise happened the most on HOT weather, and occasionally on COLD weather.
Longo Lexus advice me to buy an OEM brake pads and should resolve this problem. I'm also thinking of just getting it done at the dealership and pay that extra cash plus warranty.
09 i4 AUTO 47K miles ... When the car is running at around 50mph and if I give it very slight throttle (enough only to keep speed constant), I would hear this rhythmic humming noise. The hum rhythm has a frequency of about 1/2 second each. It is very muffled, almost like exhaust noise or tire noise. However, if I downshift to 4th gear, keep the same speed, and apply the throttle in the same way, the noise doesn't occur.
View 13 RepliesI just bought a truck, it has a whining noise while accelerating, stops while letting on the gas, does not do it in neutral even if i rev up the engine. Only whines while there is some force on it, ie.. accelerating, or going up a hill at any angle, and does it from about 10-15mph- atleast 60mph.
View 2 RepliesI have an '06 F-250 that's making a quiet grinding/humming noise from what sounds like the front end. It doesn't seem to be coming from any side in particular, just an omnipresent noise whenever the truck is moving. It's constant with speed, and most noticable between 30-60 KPH.
Truck has about 268,000 KM on it right now, and has been worked pretty hard for whatever that's worth as well.
I was just working on replacing the cabin air filter on my '06 sonata and when I opened up the side panel I noticed that the glove box strut was not attached to anything. This would probably explain why my glovebox will occasionally open all the way to the floor.
How I should reattach it so that it will stop doing this, or have a diagram that shows how it should be connected?
I took my 2006 Prius into the dealership a few months ago for an oil change. When I drove the car away from the dealership I heard a weird pop from the area of the glove box. When I opened the glove box later to see what had happened, the glove box only opened about halfway. Some part of the spring mechanism had been compromised.
When I returned to the dealership telling them to fix the glove box, they examined it and concluded that the glove box was opening just fine. Looking for a brief video of upper glove box opening, to show the extent to which it fully opens on its own? I would like to present such a video to my dealership folks, who seem not to know how their own parts are meant to function.

I don't hear the motor lock the trunk either. I can open it with a broom handle through the back seat ok or with the actual metal key, but pressing the button on the remote or next to the steering wheel does nothing. I checked the fuse, and the glove box switch.
Anything else I can try? It's no worry since its still under warranty, but if it's something simple it would save me the trip.
I was wondering is there a way to have an audio input cable plugged into the glove box cd changer female socket?.I just want to connect anything,by doing this i can connect my mp3,iphone or any other audio device's output.
I do not have the AUX option.
