Is there any trick to removing the rear seat bottom, or do I just need to pull each side up with enough force until it pops out? If I get my hand under the edge of the seat there seems to be a decent amount of give to it, but I don't want to break anything...

View 7 RepliesI just got my clazzio seat cover yesterday, spent the whole day installing it. I'm up to the last seat (rear passenger side) where i need to remove the seat belt.
I'm having problem removing the seat belt. Tried with several different tools, including variable speed tool, and even tried turning it to the right in case it has different direction to unbolt, but it just wouldn't turn at all.
I called the dealership, but no luck. So i'm now stucked with all but 1 seat being covered. I went to some shops today, most wouldn't touch it because it's liability issue.
So I tried removing my rear deck but was unsuccessful. I removed 4 "screws" when folding the seats then the ones inside the trunk but it didn't come off. Did I miss anything that is holding it down?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2010 4 door GTI. I'd like to install my daughter's front facing Britax child seat either in the rear right or rear central position. However, in either case, I'm finding that most of the rear weight ends up on the headrest and I would like to simply remove the headrest from that seating position.
I read in the user manual that to remove the headrest,I pull it to it's highest position and then push the button on the right side of the plastic entrance of the head rest into the seat, and 'simply' pull the headrest vertical out of the seat.
This is similar to how this was done in other cars I've owned. However it is not working for me with the GTI. Once I pull the headrest to the highest possible position I can get to, I press the button but the headrest simply refuses to come out. I've tried this on the other rear seat and same problem. With the middle rear seat I can't seem to pull the headrest out beyond its lowest position.

View 20 RepliesI folded down my rear seats on my 2012 Elantra and now I am unable to get them to lock back in normal position. It doesn't matter how hard I slam the seats I cannot get them to lock. This is the second time I folded down the seats and I am not sure if they locked from the last time I folded them down. Maybe it is the cold weather in NY that has an affect on the lock.
View 9 RepliesI got some manual of the internet on how to take out the bottom off the back seat. I got it off and installed the seat covers. How do I reinstall the seat. Instructions say attach rear hooks then push down to attach front. I attached the rear hooks but can not just push down on the seat to install the front. Sitting on it does not let it latch on. How to make the front latch on? This is on 2010 Prius. I got the u tubes going inside the white connectors but they will not latch on. Is there a trick? Seat is faom and Styrofoam so I don't want to just push down as I might break something. It's GT covers that I am installing.

View 4 RepliesHow to remove (fully remove) the rear seat headrests from a Golf 7? I never have passengers in the rear seat, and I find that the headrests obstruct my vision (via the interior mirror) out the rear window.
I know that VW configures these headrests so they cannot easily be removed (this to prevent them from unintentionally popping out when someone is adjusting them upwards). I am sure that there must be a 'trick' to getting them out completely, though.
How to completely remove these headrests?
I was able to unlatch the two white hooks attached to the back of the rear seat and lift the rear seat up to about 45 degrees. What about the front?

Also, I need to pull the cover off the rear seat DVD player as I want to solder in some RCA's onto the aux in. Can't figure this one out either, and I'm afraid to break the cover.

I believe the are held in by clamps from middle to top but not sure what needs done at the bottome. And I can also feel two straps at the bottom.

I would like to remove the tray located under the rear sit. I don't want anything installed back in place of it.I want the open space when the rear seats are folded up. I have two large dogs and they hate the tray. Will the rear sit ride okay if i remove the tray or will it loose some support?

Also I am guessing the washer goes on the inside of the bearing as opposed to between the bearing and nut?
