Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Adding Decent Control / New Harness?

May 23, 2017

Is it possible to add the decent control if my truck didn't come with it? Is the harness already wired for it and the computer programmed for it or would I have to get it reprogrammed and get a new harness?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Service Traction Control / Downhill Decent Control Fault Messages Showing Up

I have 2 messages showing up in the message center / control panel. I have taken the truck to the dealership and we cannot recreate them while the truck is at the dealership. How it can be resolved.

2013 Ford Superduty Platinum : 33,800 miles and the truck is stock

Messages : service traction control / Downhill decent control fault

This will happen just driving down the road or just after starting the truck and taking off.

It has happened towing my work trailer and also not having the trailer connected to the truck.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Adding Supplemental Heater - Wiring Harness?

As it turns out my entire dash needs to come out to repair the HVAC so thinking while it's out I should add the diesel supplemental heater. What's involved with this? I need to replace the entire HVAC plenum so imagine the version with the supplemental heater can be bought instead. I know it's an 1800W electrical heater so my main question is the wiring harness on a regular truck setup for it or do I need to change the harness. And then I suspect the HVAC control module would need to be reprogrammed as well.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Adding LEDs - Wiring Harness?

I am going to add some led's to illuminate the steps getting into my truck at night. I plan on putting them directly under the door over the steps. Is there a wire under the door threshold I can tap into at each door? If so what color? If not, where to get the power from. I want them to turn on and off with the interior lights when doors are opened.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Decent Amount Of White Smoke Started Coming Out Of The Exhaust

2007 F550 with the 6.0. About 2 months ago I replaced the EGR cooler with a Bulletproof cooler. Truck ran well for a few weeks. Then I started getting the "turbo fart". I stopped using the truck until I had an issue with another truck. I was stuck so I sent the 07 out without cleaning the turbo. This morning a decent amount of white smoke started coming out of the exhaust. The smoke would sometimes get a bit gray. Going up hill it didn't have much power at all.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2010 - Location Of Plug On Main Harness?

Have a 2010 Lariat crew cab and I just bought an upfitter switch set and relay harness. Found where to mount the relay block and have been able to get the switch panel installed in its home. For the life of me though I cannot find the plug in the main harnes under the dash to plug the relay harness into to power everything up. I've read several threads here and even found the drawings that indicate plug #C215 in a diagram for the 2011+ trucks. When I get access panel out and look underneath the dash where it should be....no spare or open plug. Is the plug location diferent in 2010 from the 2011?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2014 - Removing Glow Plug Harness?

I'm really struggling to get this sucker off my 2014 6.7 F350

it says in the ford manual to lift the plastic tabs then pull off, I did that easily with 3 on each side, but the end plug on each side (the one closest to the windshield) does not seem to have a liftable tab (it looks different to the others as its at the end of the cable)

I've almost broken it but not quite, its over $300 for new harness, ouch

I do have the odd little hook tool they sell for this, it worked with the other 3 for sure, but I've spent ages on the 4th on each side and cannot budge either of them

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Door Wiring Flex Harness Shredded

First I lost the power window functionality in the rear left door... didn't think too much of it, then I lost the power door lock functionality, which was bad because I was assuming my door was getting locked when it wasn't actually. Pulled open my door this evening and found this:

I think my truck overheard me when I was saying "I like a good electrical problem, those are my favorite." I'll solder it up to get it working tonight, and then I'll see what a new harness costs... although really they should have used ultra-fine-strand wire with silicone insulation for an application that sees lots of flexing.

My multimeter's test leads are such an example of wiring that is intended to see lots of flexing.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2003 - Leaking From The Glow Plug Harness

Got a 2003 6.0 that seems to be leaking from the glow plug harness. How hard would it be to just replace them? I've heard that trying to remove these things can be a pain because they almost always break. But if I'm just going to replace them who cares right?

Is there anything I need to be careful about? Or can I just rip em on out? Also I've noticed two different styles of harness should I replace mine with the other style or just keep it the same? And yes those valve cover nuts are loose. I'm aware

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2013 - Adding Rear Wheel Well Liners?

I first saw them on the 2013 build and price and was thinking that I should look into adding them to my 12. I never got around to looking up part numbers. So, recently I thought of it again and after a little poking found that they could be had as a Ford accessory kit for around $110 depending on your dealer. MSRP is 133 I think. So, I hit the dealer and grabbed a set they had in stock. Install took 30 minutes. Very easy. They give the wheel wells a finished look and offer lots more protection than the small plastic strips on the rear that came with the truck. A hundred or so bucks well spent if you don't have them. There are aftermarket ones that are a touch cheaper on eBay by Rugged Liner but they don't work with the 5th wheel prep which I have.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Tail Lights Go Out / Wire Harness In Front Left Wheel Well Rubbed

My fathers truck had the tail lights go out the other night so we checked the fuse and the bulbs both good. Took it to ford and they found that a wire harness in the front left wheel well had rubbed through and needed replacement. I went and checked mine and yup it was rubbing through the wire just not all the way yet. Might want to take a look. It is at the top of the well near the coil spring. I will get the camera out tomorrow in the daylight and take a picture of the location.
