Have a 2000 excursion V10. Cruise wasn't working when I bought it. There are no lights on the dash that come on and I changed the switch on master cylinder. What to do. Fuses are good
View 2 RepliesI have a question on my '00 7.3. Cruise control just quit working. From reading the threads/forums I have gotten some ideas, but how about no dash light when turning the key to on? Nothing with the self test also. How can I troubleshoot the switch in the steering wheel? I could also have a bulb out in the cluster, but either way- no cruise function.
View 4 RepliesWell, on our way home during my leave, the wife made the comment about halfway home that the blinkers had quit working. I assumed it was probably a fuse or relay, so we came on home. I have been looking at it for a few days now (too hot to spend too much time out crawling around under the dash ) and I am still having some trouble. My brake lights, and hazards are not working, and neither is the cruise, which was working fine while I drove before the blinkers went out.
I have no power at all to the flasher relay. I replaced the brake light switch because it was definitely worn and looked a little burned inside when I pulled it out and inspected, but still nothing. Have not found any fuses blown. Brake pressure switch fused link harness seems good with my test light. Wipers, brights, everything else on the turn signal switch works fine. Can't even get the cruise to go into diagnostic mode, it only blinks once when I try.
2004 Excursion 4x4 6.0. I just had the fuel injectors & wiring harness replaced and it runs great, but after 30 minutes of driving the complete dash lights/gauges stopped working. I found that the #45 10amp fuse had blown so replaced it and after 20 minutes the same thing happened. While it was working all of the lights & gauges seemed to be working okay. This doesn't effect anything else, still starts & runs okay, turn signals work, head lights work, but the head light auto on/off doesn't.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2000 EX 7.3L ... The power windows aren't working and neither is the interior lights. I am hoping it is a couple of fuses. Problem is that I can't find a fuse diagram and I don't have any knowledge about changing the fuses. Do I need to change them both under the hood and under the dash? Which fuses I need to look at changing?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 Ford F250 lariat 7.3 .... This vehicle has an aftermarket double din stereo pillar gauges for Pyro meter and transmission temp and has also had a snowplow attached but since re moved since I purchased it. It also has H ID headlights, which are run by the passenger side headlight connection.
The problem I'm having is that whenever I turn on the parking lights it is blowing the number eight fuse under the hood. Which is giving me no dash lights running lights parking lights or taillights. Initially the fuse would last for a few minutes and then burn out. I should also add that the trailer wiring harness doesn't work either and the driver side headlight will work sporadically.
I'm at my wit's end trying to install cruise control in my 2009 Corolla. I thought it was a relatively easy install, but then after putting the airbag in place, I find that the horn no longer works. I test out the cruise control, and the green "Cruise" lights up on the dashboard..but it doesn't actually work.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2000 Kia Sportage and the dash lights and running/parking lights are not working. The 10 Amp fuse for the tail/running lights keeps blowing. What could be causing these problems on this year, make and model car and where I should look to find and fix the problem? I am trying to find and fix these problems as fast as I can, but I am not real sure as to where to even start looking.
View 3 RepliesI have a1994 Dodge 1500 Ram Hemi extra cab 4door. The brake lights on the bed of the truck not the high light will blink on and off and sometimes stay on the other day my son-in-law narrowed the truck and a trailer and the trailer also blinked but again not the high light. Also the cruise has stopped working about the same time this started. At one time it was infrequent now is most of the time. Wondering if it could be part of the alarm system or something else it is driving me crazy.
View 4 Replies2004 Lariat ... My cruise isn't working, won't even come (no light on dash). I tried the self test where you turn the ign on with the E-brake on and try holding the cruise off button to enter some kind of diag mode but it didn't work. I found a video on youtube where a mechanic replaced some pressure switch on the master cyl but my master cyl doesn't have what the video showed. I read somewhere about the 3rd brake light having something to do with it. FWIW, my 3rd brake light does not work.

View 2 RepliesI had had intermittent issues with the cruise control not working in my excursion. most of the time it was fine though. after a recent 150 mile trip it stopped working half way through. i didnt worry about it too much..got back into town and checked under the hood. i found brake fluid running down the inner fender well! all over everything under the master cylinder. finally tracked it down to the cruise control switch on the master cylinder leaking. I pulled the plug apart and it was full of brake fluid.
Meanwhile the master cylinder was about half full, so i replaced it with the same switch out of a '96 parts explorer which is the same part luckily. also yes i have had the cruise control recall done. So if you have lost CC and you have a leak replace the switch! seems it can leak..and at a pretty good rate..alittle scary! glad i figured it out before my 800+ mile trip later this week/weekend.
Looking for any pointers on fixing my cruise control Have looked around under hood but what it looks like. I've got the air working again,put Warn hubs on and have ordered the Hellwig rear sway bar,adjusted steering box i/2 turn....
View 14 RepliesThe cruise control in my recently purchased '01 Excursion isn't working. I've done a lot of searches and discovered there was a recall for a wiring harness: 2001 FORD EXCURSION Recalls
I called my local dealer and they stated there aren't any open recalls for this vehicle, so the previous owner must have taken care of it.
Is there any way I can verify that the warranty work was done? Can I visually inspect the harness? What else I can check to fix the cruise control? The lights on the steering wheel are illuminated.
I have a issue with my cruise control not working. The Ford dealer in my home town has had my truck for 3 days now and cannot figure out what the problem is. I finally went by the dealer and wanted to know what the deal is and how can this take so long to figure out when they have to of seen issue like this in the past. The tech that is working on my truck said he has traced wires,etc and think it has something to do with the after market JVC touch screen DVD/backup camera. My question is would this affect the cruise? I cannot find anything on the net that may point in that direction. The steering wheel controls work for the fan and temp controls but not the radio as its aftermarket. Radio adapter for the controls?
View 14 RepliesI have a cruise control issue. I tried the self diagnostics test, and the "cruise" light would not come on. (Also read that 2001 did not have a self test, so maybe that's why it didn't work? Also, when I first start it, all the other lights turn on except for cruise.) I checked the brake master cylinder and it has the double fuse wiring with 2 good fuses. Not quite sure what else to test. I just bought the X knowing it had this problem, but didn't know how much I would miss cruise control until driving without for a week.

View 14 RepliesMy fuel gauge is not working, nor is the cruise control, Had the truck looked at, was told the cruise was not working due to the fuel gauge not working?
Also when he hooked it up was told the dash gauge worked fine and the computer showed 60% which would have been about right based on mileage on the tank. My guess is that I need a sending unit?
One day it work and the next day it didn't. I checked the 15a fuse and it was good. What else should I be looking at?
View 12 Replies2003 X limited 2wd 6.0L ... My cruise control was working intermittently. Could it be the buttons on the steering wheel itself? there is a cluster that I see. Does it pop off to expose the connectors/switches? Can these go bad? Can I buy new switches for the steering wheel?
