This is on my 05. I assume its for fog lights. Is that correct? If so, where is the fog light switch? I don't have one near my headlight switch. Is this one of those things where everyone gets the harness, but the option is only on the switch if equipped?

We (a relative of mine and I) replaced the gas tank on my 2004 Sante Fe a few months back, as it had rusted through. After a day of swearing and such, we got it replaced and running. During that, the engine light was on, so i figured that it was due to the excessive fuel leaks.
I take it in to work and scan for codes, and it popped up with the P0452 code for the evap solenoid circuit (and the rear o2 code, but that was quickly addressed). Just for giggles, i removed the rear seat and access panel to double check our fuel connections, and found that we forgot to hook up a wiring harness. The only issue is that I am scratching my head as to where it is supposed to plug into, as i do not see any connectors in the area of the tank.
(As you can see from the pics, both wiring harnesses are plugged into the mounting plate for the fuel pump, and included 2 pics of the offending harness)...
Early 2000 vs 2001? Looking for info on replacing wiring harness under the dashboard?
Is there enough clearance to pull the harness without removing the dashboard?
I am going to be pulling a trailer next week. I bought a raybestos voyager XP controller. I expected it to be plug and play but what I got was four wires. I have heard that there is a plug ready under the dash to plug a controller into directly. I found a gray pigtail with male ends. Is this it? Should I take controller back and get one with the correct plug or is there a harness one can buy or is a stop to my local ford dealer in the future.
View 5 RepliesI plan on moving the engine/drivetrain from my 1986 F350 460 to my 1996 F250. I also want to move over the 1986's ignition system with a Duraspark 2 setup.
Although I could just cut in the easiest places to remove the wiring for later reuse I am looking for where to make the cuts, what to take and what to scrap. Alternatively I am also asking if there are aftermarket or OEM replacement sets out there are aren't a ton of money. The current harness in the 1986 has been sprayed with engine oil and cooked for 27 years so I am looking at alternative options if there are any.
My truck horn sounds wimpy and how I can look into for a deeper sound. I am looking for a simple replacement that doesn't need any extra wiring or modification.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 6.0L Excursion. I'd like to do the high idle mod. From looking in the tech folder there are two options.. Option #1 being for 2003-2004 trucks and Option #2 being for 2005+ trucks. The assumption for Option #2 is that there is wiring from the factory for the upfitter switches. My engine build is a 2004 and I could not find any evidence of the orange upfitter wires so I proceeded with Option #1.
I find wire 294 (white/light blue strip) with no problem.. What I can't seem to find is wire 322 (light blue/yellow strip). I can find the 4 dummy (extra) wires to the engine compartment (Red, White, Blue, Black solids) yet I only find 3 blunt cut wires capped with tape... The colors on those are white/orange strip, light green/white strip and yellow/white strip - no sign of the light blue/yellow strip wire.
Is there something unique about the 2005 Excursions?
So I have the option to get a bds 4" lift for about 325 brand new from a friend.
Hard to pass up that deal but I really need like a 6 to 7" lift.
Is there anything i can add to get a few extra inches? Shackles?
I do NOT go off road its just for street use, and I only drive it maybe 4k a year if that.
Need to know the Ford part number for cab light wiring harness? I am wanting to install some LED cab lights but I do not currently have any so I will need the wiring harness.
View 3 RepliesLooking for wiring diagrams for a 97 gran marq. Specifically I want to hotwire, the climate control , to give me heat and defrost for more then 2 minutes an hour. I've got the climate control unit out of the dash, and the relays click just before the heat comes on for a few minutes. Of course that was an invitation to smack things with the screw driver. OOPS If there are no heater fuses hiding, besides the ones over the parking brake, I've now also destroyed the unit. Blocks of wood on the vacumm actuators, and wiring the fan direct will work with my unemployment check just fine. BRrrrrr it cold in the car...

View 6 RepliesAs it turns out my entire dash needs to come out to repair the HVAC so thinking while it's out I should add the diesel supplemental heater. What's involved with this? I need to replace the entire HVAC plenum so imagine the version with the supplemental heater can be bought instead. I know it's an 1800W electrical heater so my main question is the wiring harness on a regular truck setup for it or do I need to change the harness. And then I suspect the HVAC control module would need to be reprogrammed as well.
View 13 RepliesI have been tracking down my ABS light and found that the left front wheel speed sensor has had the wiring harness ripped off from behind the front wheel. I have about 2ft of the harness coming off of the actual sensor.
Question is, since I cannot locate any wires that this seems to be able to be connected to, can I simply cut and splice these wires directly into the Tan/Black + Tan/Lt Green wires going straight to my ABS controller?
First I lost the power window functionality in the rear left door... didn't think too much of it, then I lost the power door lock functionality, which was bad because I was assuming my door was getting locked when it wasn't actually. Pulled open my door this evening and found this:
I think my truck overheard me when I was saying "I like a good electrical problem, those are my favorite." I'll solder it up to get it working tonight, and then I'll see what a new harness costs... although really they should have used ultra-fine-strand wire with silicone insulation for an application that sees lots of flexing.
My multimeter's test leads are such an example of wiring that is intended to see lots of flexing.
I am going to add some led's to illuminate the steps getting into my truck at night. I plan on putting them directly under the door over the steps. Is there a wire under the door threshold I can tap into at each door? If so what color? If not, where to get the power from. I want them to turn on and off with the interior lights when doors are opened.
