I discovered recently that the rear doors no longer lock. Scared the crap out of me when I open them to load something not realizing I hadn't unlocked the truck, and the alarm went off. I haven't tried to open the thing up yet to see what may be broken or loose.
View 5 RepliesI currently have an 05 Limited X and I've also noticed this on other 05 X's as well. The front driver and passenger side doors near the lower end with the cladding doesn't seem to match up with the rear doors. This goes for both driver and passenger front doors. I at first thought maybe it was just on the X I have but this is something I've taken notice of on just about all of the 05 Limited's I've looked at. What I'm referring to with the front doors being popped out a small bit and not matching up or being perfectly aligned with the rear doors?
I've had an 01 Limited and the doors wasn't anywhere near how mis-aligned they seem to be on the 05 Limited's. I haven't checked years between or XLT's. But on almost or pretty much all 05 Limited's I'm noticing this. Some are not as bad as others or as noticeable as others. But for some reason they all seem to pop out a little towards the bottom. When I speak of doors I'm referring to the doors itself, not the cladding/molding sticking out.
My doors are locking and unlocking while driving down the road.
View 9 RepliesI have a 03 Excursion. The door lock buttons work perfectly to lock the doors but nothing happens when I try to unlock with the buttons on the doors. However the key fob and keypad entry work flawlessly. I was sure it was the drivers side master switch but replaced it with a brand new one today still doesn't do anything, no sound from actuators or any relay click nothing but the mechanical click of the contacts in the switch.
View 2 RepliesAbout a year ago I put in a new lock motor and it worked fine for a while but has stopped working. Is it the lock motor or something else? It unlocks but won't lock. There is not latch indicator on the upper hatch so it stayed unlocked without me knowing it.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2007 Santa Fe and recently both rear doors don't respond to the car remote and even to the driver-side control panel on the door. The only way now to lock and unlock the rear doors is to manually do it from the inside. Both front doors are fine. What could be the problem with the rear doors? Is it just a fuse? Or do I need to open the door panel and have a look inside? If I do need to open the door panel, looking for instructions on how to open it.
View 26 RepliesThe rear hatch on our ex, is starting to dig into the fiberglass of the barn doors. Paint is already gone, just white fiberglass. This wasn't an issue was first, however we have been opening and closing it quite a bit more than we used to. How to resolve this issue?

View 10 RepliesGot an issue with the wife's Camry. I CAN NOT get the passenger door and both rear doors to lock automatically. I can manually flip the lock and they stayed locked, but that is the only way to lock them. They un-lock like normal.
Symptoms are as follows:
I do not hear any noise (in the three doors that will not lock) when I press ANY the lock buttons.
Drivers side door:
- with key in door it will unlock drivers door with one turn and all others with second turn. (normal)
- with key in door I can get the drivers door to lock, but the other three doors do NOT lock.
- with inside switch I can unlock all doors with unlock button.
- with inside switch I can lock drivers door but not the other three
Passenger side door:
- with key in door I can unlock all doors
- with key in door I can get ONLY divers door to lock.
- with inside switch I can unlock all doors with unlock button.
- with inside switch I can lock drivers door but not the other three
Key fob:
- with one press I can unlock the divers door and another press unlocks the rest of the doors.
- with the lock button I can get the drivers door to lock but the other three do NOT lock.
I have checked all fuses that I think are related. I don't have a repair manual so I don't know exactly what wires and plugs and fuses are all related to the lock/unlock system. I plan to get a manual soon.
Do the passenger and rear doors have different power to their locking solenoids separate from the drivers door? Could a broken wire in the drivers door (a common problem from what I've been reading on here) play a role in the other three doors not locking? Also I've read about the BCM being faulty in these cars (even though the problem described with that is the doors not unlocking and my problem is the exact opposite).
Ever since I've owned this truck I notice that when I shut the truck off only my rear doors do not auto unlock. Is this normal? It's embarrassing when I have passengers and they need me to hit the unlock switch from my door to get out.

I have tried pushing the door knob down and this wont budge either, took the door card off and can hear a clicking when you press the key fob but thats it lock does not move?
The lock in my right rear door has been temperamental for some time. I had always assumed I just needed a new solenoid, but I wonder if there's something else to this, like a broken clip or something that needs lubrication. All of the other locks work fine.

View 14 RepliesSo yesterday I tried to tackle this project. I soaked the latched in penetrating oil got it all loosened up were I could actually lock it with the key. So tried it with the key fob and no lock or unlock. So I pulled the actuator out and did the "tin foil" trick. Still wouldn't work. Didn't push the lock far enough to Lock the glass. However, it did move the latch. So I went down and purchased a NEW one from auto parts store stuck it in and whip-bang-boom it don't work either. As it don't push the lock far enough to lock the glass.

It's not the lock, it's the linkage. The actuator has been replaced and still can't lock/unlock it. Using the key is really tough to turn, but it will with enough force applied. Last summer I sprayed it with lube and it worked for a while, now we're back to square one. It's really clean, just acts like something is bent/worn.
View 6 RepliesSince I bought the Ex last December the rear lock worked sometimes. The key cylinder wouldn't turn, but the actuator would work from time to time.
So since it is hunting season and I want to lock up the Ex when I am in the field I dug into it tonight.
I want to know how do I remove the actuator from the handle/lock mechanism. It looks like it just snaps on. I pulled the actuator back a touch and the arm feel off that drives the lock mechanism.
So after pulling the handle and trim piece, removing the lock cylinder and hosing it in PB blaster and brake kleen and more PB blaster I now have a lock cylinder that turns freely.
After turning my attention the lock mechanism and flooding it with PB blaster, I now can lock the Ex. That mechanism is not a smooth item! So do I need to remove the complete lock mechanism assembly to remove the actuator? Can I buy an actuator with a metal arm?
After going through a car wash my Prius has started locking all doors when I start the car and unlocking driver's and passenger front doors when I turn it off. Kind of wondering how this could happen, but since I like it that way I don't really want to change it back. Is there a way to toggle this and can I change it so that rear doors and hatchback unlock also when I turn the car off?
