My front driver side auto door lock isn't working. I thought it was the actuator but I already replaced that and there is no improvement. It unlocks just fine by pulling the handle, but the keypad and door switches don't work.

I bought it with a lot of the lights, i.e. tire pressure, skid control, abs, service engine, air bag, service rcs and some others on and these systems are not working. a module was missing associated to the AWD system, I have put one in but awd still does not work through the 4 high and 4 low work. The automatic door locks does not lock when the vehicle starts moving. Some of the lights on the dash and doors don't work either.

View 2 Replies2005 Grand Caravan with 160K miles. Automatic door locks started not working two years ago and needed to be reset by either disconnecting the battery or pulling the fuse. First this would happen every six months, then about every three months, then monthly, and now about every two weeks. Is there anyway to avoid having to reset the system every two weeks?
View 3 Replies2000 Ford Explorer Limited - door locks not working. When they started to go bad, they would lock but not unlock. Then shortly after they were inoperative, including the lock in the back. I checked the fuse and it is OK. This may be something - when I pulled the fuse I tested on side and got battery voltage. The other terminal was showing just over 8 volts. With the fuse pulled, should it have any voltage at all??? Also, what should the voltage be at the switch in the drivers door?

View 3 RepliesI also have a 2000 boneville and over the winter i discovered that those same three windows/locks/courtesy lamps doesn't work , I have went through all the fuses which are fine , I will call the dealership and check on the BCM. I also have the wet floor problem. But no sun roof, I read that it may be the connector under the pass seat, I see a connector above the carpet, could that be it or is it located under the carpet...

They won't work from any door switch but when I use the key fob to unlock or lock the car the locks will work. However, the windows won't work from any door switch. I didn't see a fuse marked for the windows or locks.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 F150 2 door 2wd 5.4 engine. When I put it in gear the automatic door locks do not activate. The procedure for programming the remote does not work either. It calls for turning the ignition switch on and off 9 times, and the doors should unlock, so that procedure does not work either.
I took it to the dealer to have the BCM reprogrammed, they say there is no BCM in the vehicle. The codes they got says there is a door ajar, and the interior lamp relay DTC. I am not sure what the DTC means, forgot to ask.
The door warning light goes out when the doors are closed, and the interior light goes out. They do not seem to know how the system operates. I bought the wiring diagram.
From what I can see, closed lock switch connects directly to the GEM. The dealer told me there is two switches in the door. There is only one as far as I can determine. Ther are two plugs on the locking mechanism, on is for the remote lock, it works. So the lock closed switch is also working.
Reading this forum, I see several cases where people have changed the GEM, and that did not fix the problem. I can not see any other solution, as the door closed switch connects directly to the GEM, and the door open warning goes out, and the interior light goes out.

Truck is used on a construction site and every time someone moves it and then I need something out of it doors are locked. I hate having to try 3 doors every time until I remember to go to drivers door.
i have an 09 corolla s auto.i wanted to change it so it would not unlock when you put it into park. i read the manual Page 42. it says to
step 1: turn key to on position (engine off)
step 2: shift the lever to p or n(for stick). and press the the lock button for approximately 5 seconds and then let go to activate or deactivate the auto locking. or if you push and hold the unlock it activates or deactivates the auto unlocking.
well they don't say to wait for the seat belt chime, when you hear the chime push and hold the lock or unlock button depending on what you want and release just prior to the end of the chime. -- they don't say this in the book, but this is the only way to get it to work.
I am trying to reset the automatic door locks on my 2000 1500. i have followed the owners manual. it says to pull in the directional and turn the key from off to run twice. then release the directional. Doors should lock and unlock and horn should chirp.
1= my horn does not chirp.
2=the manual says I have the choice of doors locking at 8mph or when i put the car in drive, or no lock. All I can get is the 8mph or no lock. I cant get the lock when placed in drive option.
Is there a programming sequence that will keep my 2002 Camry from locking all doors when the vehicle is put in drive/reverse. I realize this is considered a safety feature but I prefer to lock them myself.
View 10 RepliesTroubleshooting a problem with friend's 2000 F250. His power windows aren't working and are causing problems with his door locks and interior lights. When he tries to use his drivers side power window, his power door locks quit working. If he puts the switch to raise, the interior lights flash. From what I've read, it sounds like the GEM to me, we've inspected the wiring and it all looks good. I pulled it out today and it looks good inside, no sign of water leaks on it. If it is the gem, how much do they cost and do they require programming?

Issue: door ajar light stays on, power locks on driver and passenger door don't work, radio stays on after truck is off an door is opened.
Events leading up to issue: went to temporarily hook up a wolo dixie horn to see if it worked. Wanted to do it fast so I took + cable, tied one end to the battery terminal and then connected other end to dixie horn relay. I then grounded both negative wires to the truck. One ground on the frame the other I temporarily wrapped around a one of factory ground mounts under the dash. Immediately after doing this the problems stated above started.
How can I fix this. I need to fix this by tomorrow. I have a guy from Craigslist coming to look at the truck. Now the 4x4 issue.
Truck has zf6 manual and the electric 4wd select ****. Just thought I'd list this if it was needed to be known for solutions.
4x4 high light stays on in while 2wd all the time. 4 low will stay on after switching back to 4 high and 2wd but it goes out if I ether stop the truck shut it off then restart it. or back up and slam on the brakes. Also when in 4 high the front driveshaft won't spin. However It will spin when in 4 low.
Another random issue I'd thought I'd just list while I'm writing this.... Cruise control does not work. And when I press the "on" button and the "coast" button at the same time the horn honks.
White 1997 Explorer XLT 4 door 4x4 4.0 sohc 220,000 miles. The power windows and locks don't work. I've tried all of them in the whole car and nothing. Replaced all fuses at the inside panel and replaced all fuses and relays under the hood. Replaced master control switch on the drivers side and still nothing.

View 1 RepliesSo on my 2001 excursion v10 my power door locks won't work. The 30amp fuse under the hood is blown and originally thought it was simply the fuse. No biggie picked up a new fuse... yay it works! Well it did for 2 locks and 2 unlocks then blown. So after reading I suspected it was the resistor inside the door lock actuator. So I did the free mod (taking them all apart and using foil instead of a resistor) got done last night popped in a new fuse... 2 locks 2 unlocks and a blown fuse. So I feel like I wasted a bunch of time doing the resistor mod but whatever,and now im back where I started. So right before this problem started originally one of my boys was messing with the number pad on the driver door. Not sure if its related just thought I'd put that in for out there.

The door locks quit working. The previous owner did the tin foil repair... I replaced the four door actuators today. Now all of the doors lock and unlock on the manual buttons. The fob doesn't work on any door.. when i try and use the door code pad, the locks go into a cycle.. the keep trying to operate by themselves. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I can't find the door lock relays. I have most of the dash out. Where these are?
