I have a possible oil leak as the title said and it's a 5.4 triton. I believe I'm seeing oil under the frame on the passenger side. Where the leak is coming from and I know it's not a severe leak it's still concerning and what it could be. 2000 F150 Lariat 5.4 ....
View 4 Replies2002 F150 FX4 w/ 5.4 Just sprung a new oil leak somewhere and I can't tell where it's coming from. The oil is actually dripping off the frame on the passenger side. It looks like the leak is somewhere at the back of the engine on the passenger side above the bell housing. It's dripping on the frame and running down a little ways before dripping to the ground. I can't get a good visual without removing the inner fenders. It's a pretty good leak that just started yesterday. Not a drop before then. I just had the oil changed within the last couple of days if that works.
View 3 RepliesI have just purchased a 2010 FX4 5.4l on 5/4 and just found a leak coming from above the passenger side frame horn. It looks like it may be from the condensor but im not 100 percent certain. It is an odorless oil not condensate. It is a slow drip that i found after running the truck for a short time. the puddle it left was about the size of a bottom of a drinking glass.
View 4 RepliesMy '02 F150 just developed an oil leak. It appears to be coming from the passenger side front. I'm just assuming here, but could it more than likely be the timing cover? I'm 150 miles from home and I'm debating on getting the timing cover gasket on my way home tomorrow. Also, if it is the timing cover, what other gaskets should I replace? Pretty sure the water pump oring.
View 1 RepliesI have a f150 with a 5.4L with 354,000 miles on it. It started leaking water somewhere on the front of the motor on the passenger side. it looks like it is under where the heater hose connects to the intake. I guess my question is can the water eat a hole in the intake?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2001 Screw 4x4 that had a bad valve on the passenger side. I got the head rebuilt and put it all back together. Now it has a pretty bad oil leak at the rear of the engine. I thought it was the valve cover gasket but when I took it off the gasket was right where it's supposed to be. I pulled the starter and it seems to be leaking out of the new head gasket. What could I have done wrong? The thing runs perfect now but it's dripping oil like crazy so I had to have done something wrong. I used an OEM head gasket from the dealer and torqued the new head bolts to 30 ft-lbs and then went another 90 turn twice just like the book said.

I've traced the leak back to a metal tube/pipe that sticks out of the engine compartment just below the AC housing. I cannot find anything in the Haynes manual or a diagram on the intertron that shows what this is and if it should have a hose on it or...?
I have a leak on the right side of the cross over pipe. I removed one long bolt from the right side and two long bolts from the left side that go through the thermostat housing, and three bolts from the back of the alternator, but the pipe doesn't seem to want to move. I don't want to break anything.
View 2 RepliesMy wife's 97 f150 4x4 had an exhaust leak on the passenger side. 7 out of the 8 bolts holding the manifold on are snapped off. 4 of them are snapped off 1/8" below the top of the hole on the cylinder head . I am I unable to get a drill in to drill these out. The other 3 I've tried welding a nut on these but they won't budge and I wring the nuts off. If I have to pull the head(something I don't want to do)can I just pull that 1 head or do I have to tear the intake and everything off?

Been having a little problem whenever it rains, the carpet on the passenger side gets soaked through and I'm not really sure where the leak is coming from. the only part of the floor that gets wet is the flat part where the passenger would put their feet, but the parts that slope up towards the dash and towards the middle of the cab stay dry. I've pulled up this part of the carpet, and the rubber grommets are intact and in good shape, and there is no rust or anything on the floorboard. from searching here it seems people have had similar problems, one thing being a leak into the seals around the third brake light above the rear window.
a couple things i should mention is that the air conditioning condenser has been broken for about two years, so could water get blocked up and leak in? since its winter here in PA i haven't used the air con since last summer though. I'm not really sure how long the leak has been happening since I've always kept a floor mat over that spot, and the carpet drys in a few days anyway.
Another thing i should mention is that the weather stripping at the bottom of the window on the drivers side door is not perfectly tight and tends to come out of place when the door is closed hard. this has been happening since i got the truck almost three years ago and a new piece was just put in a month ago (the leak had been occurring before the new piece was installed) when the truck was hit and went in for body work. possibly a drain routing to passenger floor? I should add that I'm sure it's not coolant, it has no odor and feels like water.
Might be a good idea to pull up the whole carpet on passenger's side and sit in the cab during the next storm...
I dropped the F250 (30k miles) off at the dealer yesterday- in the last several days I've noticed a small leak puddle under the front drivers side frame member. I asked the service writer if they had had many trucks in for the radiator leak and he said "no". He has heard the waste gate solenoid buzzing the last two times I've stopped in for routine service and had said they would fix it when I left it with them.
View 9 RepliesI've had my camry 3-weeks and discovered lots of clear clean water under the carpet on the passenger side front and rear. Thought carpet was still wet from cleaning when I bought the car.Sucked up over a gallon, then removed the passenger seat and lifted the carpet/padding to find more than another gallon, clean and clear water in front and back floor. Floor drain plugs OK. And no sign/smell of antifreeze. Which eliminates the heater core. Have a moonroof, and no have not left the windows or roof open during lots of recent rain.
View 10 RepliesI drive a 2005 Accent. Approximately a few months ago, I noticed water leaking in the passenger floor and near the kick plate. So I soaked up the water and put a bit of foil over the right side of the windshield, directly on the cowl cover. That seemed to do the trick. I then removed it the next day when the rain stopped. A few days later it rained again, but this time, there was no leak. It rained off-and-on for weeks and the leak never came back. Recently we've had some heavy rain, and the leak has returned.
What could be causing this, especially since the leak only seems to happen in heavy rain? I'd like to take the cowl cover off and look at the fresh air intake, but I snapped off one of those plastic rivets that holds it down, and I don't know where to buy replacements.
I moved my truck before I noticed exactly where it was coming from then after ward looked in the engine compartment. I had a puddle under the passenger side looks like the hoses going into the passenger glove box area (because I saw a few drops on them). The liquid is silvery. Any guess what fluid this is or where it might be leaking.
The antifreeze doesn't seem to be getting lower. I drove it yesterday for about 30 minutes and no crazy leaks.
My 1997 Camry with 2.2 L motor is leaking oil profusely beneath the passenger side of the engine. Over time it looses oil slowly however when the engine runs it really leaks. I've isolated about where it is coming from beneath the timing belt area as shown in picture : [URL] .....

Saw a stain in my driveway where you normally see AC drip. Opened hood and saw degas empty.
Looking around like crazy and find wet area. Where the coolant line turns down beside the passenger fender.
Looks wet near bend going toward running board. Didn't get to inspect much but I pulled back a bit of loom to inspect shape of lines and they look great.
What could be going on?
Water drips in on the passenger side from the headliner just above where the handle is bolted to the frame (next to the windshield) after a good rain.
View 3 Replies2003 Limited 6.0 130K. Just took a 1000 mile trip for spring break. While away, I noticed a small leak near the front passenger side of the truck. It is red so I assumed it was transmission fluid. It is leaking from, the best I can describe, a small housing that looks like it might be a filter near the tire (it looks like the old style canister oil filter housings). All the hoses are clean and where the hoses go into the radiator are clean. Is this an easy fix? I am a bit worried about trying to get the thing off without damaging the hoses.
View 3 RepliesMy 7.3 has a leak on the front diff passenger side. It went into a shop for repair and they did both seal but the passenger side came out with a worse leak than it went in with. So just looked this morning and small pool of oil under the ujoint area on the concrete. Its booked in again to be fixed under warranty repair (place that fixed it, repair came with 2yr warranty) on Wednesday next week - was the earliest I could get.
Question - can i keep driving the truck? I'm making a wild assumption that I can unless I use 4 wheel drive. My intention was to just keep topping up the diff to ensure there is fluid in it. It's the work truck so wouldn't be good to be without....
Patching cracks of the rear window frame? I am talking about the actual glass casing assembly and the cracks are viewable from inside the cab of the truck. I've found two small cracks and that is exactly where the water will stream in.
I was just about to pull the rear window out to replace the butyl seal when I pinpointed the cracks. So is it possible to use some RTV, form a gasket, or JB weld or something else to patch these cracks?
Are the sliding rear windows more prone to cracking? If so I'll probably replace the assembly with a solid rear window. Where I should purchase a replacement window?
