Is there a replacement for temp and compass (interior center ceiling)?
What is the last year a Ford F150 was made with 16 inch tires?
My dear husband is not computer savvy.
2000 Ford F150 1/2 ton 2x 5.4L... Last year, I started having a problem where when the temp dropped below 50 degrees outside, my F150 would idle really rough and sometimes stall out. The CEL came on and reported some codes that I don't remember but pointed to bad air/fuel mix. I consulted a friend and he suggested changing out the IAC. I did that just towards the end of the cold weather spell we were having and the engine ran great so I assumed it was fixed.
Well, the temps have been below 50 for 8 days now and ever since the temps dropped the problem has come back. I took it to AutoZone to have the codes read and they gave me the following:
P1151 - Lack of O2 switches -bank 2 sensor 1 : ECM could not adjust fuel trim because of a lean or rich condition
AND
P0171 - Fuel trim bank one condition : The powertrain control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the Air/Fuel ratio of the engine. The computer recognized a rich or lean condition on one engine bank only.
Both printouts that they gave me mentioned the following:
Poor fuel pressure
Bad or Malfunctioning MAF sensor - Dirty/defective
Oxygen sensor defective
Fuel injector problem - Leaking or fuel pressure high/low
Vacuum leak on engine
I again called my mechanic friend and he suggested cleaning the MAF and if that didn't work replacing the MAF. I cleaned it and the problem was better but still not fixed.
How to recalibrate the temp on the overhead display?

View 5 RepliesRear view mirror, the tempurature/compass work fine when the vehicle is sitting still.
As the car accelerates, the mirror "temp & compass" begin to flash all sorts of digits and then goes blank. Mirror is plugged in properly.
Is there a temp probe somewhere under the hood that could be loose and starts to move upon driving? It works fine when not in motion.
Can you change the tensioners and guides without removing the chains or getting the cam lock tools ? Doing a in truck repair to fix a squeal sorta noise at start up without the belt on coming from passenger side valve cover that lasts for about 5 sec. oh fyi CRC new freeze off works wonders compared to jb blaster for my tear down so far!
View 6 RepliesI am replacing the high pressure power steering line on my 2000 Lightning and have a question about the fitting that goes into the steering gear. The new hose came with a black rubber o-ring that the instructions seem to indicate goes on the end of the steering gear fitting. The problem is that I did not see any o-ring on the original hose end or in the steering gear itself and the hose did not leak there (it was leaking on the pump fitting). Should there be an o-ring at the end of the fitting or does the fitting go on without it and uses a metal to metal seal? If replace this hose, did you use the o-ring or leave it out? Does it go on like this? Or like this?

View 1 RepliesOn longer trips, over 20+ minutes that the interior temp does not hold the current set climate control temp? If using sync on both sides, the temp in the cabin seems to creep down and you have to keep upping the setting and then reduce it because its too hot.
We have an older 2001 Infiniti I30 and it keeps adjusting to hold the right temp.
The red light on the door interior on a 03 f150 extended cab are they reflectors? Or do they come on because mine don't come on.
View 2 RepliesYesterday I changed two burned out light-bulbs in the a/c control panel. When I tested them after dark they worked as designed. An hour or so later my brother-in-law called me to tell me my interior lights were on. When I walked out to check the lights were off. This morning my wife drove the truck to the store and called me to tell me the interior lights were staying on. Didn't have this problem before replacing those burned out bulbs.

View 14 RepliesA little history first. 1998 F-150XL ... We bought this truck in 2001 and other than some random electrical issues we love this truck. The first thing to go bad was the was the interior light staying on even with the door closed, no big deal I just removed the bulb, the next thing to go bad was the instrument cluster except the speedometer, not too big of a deal just keep track of the mileage so you don't run out of gas. The next problem was randomly not starting like it lost its ground, the lights on the dash would be bright until you hit the starter then the lights on the dash would go dim and the starter would tap like it had no ground. Wait a few minutes and it would start again and it would be a year before it would do it again, until now!
Drove to town came back out did it again except this time would not start again. We pulled the starter switch it was good, replaced the clutch engagement switch on the clutch pedal, no good. Decided to pull it home, tried to pop start it, no dice. While pulling home all the sudden everything lit up on the dash and it started like a champ, drove it the rest of the way home and it wouldn't start back up. Since then I have put in a new battery, new battery wire ends, took lose the ground on the firewall and starter and cleaned them with no luck. I can get the lights to come up bright on the dash again, but as soon as I hit the starter all goes dead again. I am at a complete loss where to go next?
I have a 1997 ford f-150 flareside 4x4 and the interior lights have not worked since I purchased the truck.I checked the bulb and it was burnt out so I replaced it and still does not work.
The truck was hit on the 3rd door on the passenger side before I bought it and I think they may have done something to keep the interior light from coming on by accident when not shutting the door all the way.
I checked the number 14 fuse which is where I think the interior fuse it on this truck, what I could check to be my problem?
Have a 97 F150 4.2 that won't start. The lights come on in the interior. Dash lights all come on, turn the key and nothing. Replaced the solenoid on the firewall and no go. Was able to jump it at the solenoid on the firewall and it started. Not sure what's causing this.

View 8 RepliesI have a '00 Ford ranger and a '99 f-150 , when leaving the doors open , interior lights go off after 10-15 minutes in the ranger but not on my 150. Is there a relay or something aftermarket that makes this possible on the 150 ?
View 3 RepliesI have an '03 Screw which I've noticed now has an intermittent muted beep coming from somewhere in the interior of the vehicle. I've had the truck for 9 years, and this is the first time I've noticed it. It seems to come randomly but no more frequent than 2-3 minutes apart. As I am typically driving the vehicle, I cannot stop to locate the source. It reminds me of the low battery beep on my Blackberry, but like it's tucked away in the console or glove box (I checked - it's not the BB...).
I have a recurring SES light which is attributed to cylinders 1&4 misfire (discussed at length in a different thread), but I don't know what would cause this beep. I have read about the 5x5 "airbag light" beep, but this doesn't seem consistent with that. It does not seem like a repeating pattern - just a single beep, which sometimes varies slightly in length but is consistent in pitch and volume.
It's another thing in the growing list of gripes that are pushing me toward selling it. Just afraid of something big coming along unexpectedly... trying to manage the little things so they don't turn into that big one.
My rear center seat belt receiver(the female side) is broken. I haven't had any luck finding one online and my local dealership only wants to sell the entire assembly. I only need the female....are these available for purchase anywhere?
