What would make the OBD II not read the code that is set on my truck. It says "Communication Error..." Fuse 41 grants power to the Diagnostics port and the cigarette lighter. The cigarette lighter is working. Any other reasons I can look at?
View 3 RepliesOn the way home from my first weekend trip in my '04Screw, I noticed the speedometer did not agree with my GPS, which was sitting ontop of the dash. The speedometer was reading 2-3 mph faster than the GPS.
The truck was taching about 2,000 rpm .. speedometer read 72-73 .. and the Garmin III+ GPS read 2-3 mph less than the truck, tracking 8 out of 12 satellites, and varied between 68 and 69 mph.
My Lariat does have 18 inch tires. I don't have a clue if that caused the difference.
Bought my 2010 Prius with some issues, most of which are now fixed.
The remaining issue is the mentioned A/C error code: B1498 A/C Communication malfunction (A/C inverter local)
What part this is, and the OEM part number? Where is it located in the car?
Previous owner claimed it was some error with the A/C Control unit.
HV battery problem. I have Prius from 2007. In The car occur na error U0293 - Lost communication with Hv ecu.
View 9 RepliesI just bought a F150 with 103,000 on it. The engine is a 4.6. I get a P0605 code every now and then which doesnt effect performance. I erase the code and it doesnt appear again for maybe another 100 miles.
I suspect a loose connector but not sure. Looked up the code and it reads PCM READ ONLY MEMORY (ROM) ERROR. My question is what does the PCM operate? And wheres a good place to start troubleshooting?
I have the error code P0340 and have changed both camshaft positioner sensors, cleaned the air sensor and throttle body and still the engine stalls. I can accelerate at 40, 50, 60mph and it jerks violently. I tried the "locking it in third" trick but it still jerks. Today I unplugged the left cam sensor and the truck idles @ 400rpms, does not stall, and pretty much drives great! Hook it back up and crank it, within 10-15 seconds it stalls. I plan to check the wiring....

P0201 - internet search suggests it's a fuel injection code....
However I can't find anything on code C3203....
I recently changed from a problem-ridden SCT Livewire to a SCT Xcalibarator3, and now when running my custom tune I get a check engine light and a error code P0605. I never got this on the same tune with the Livewire. What causes this and how to fix it?
View 4 RepliesMy wife was driving her truck yesterday and said the MIL light started to flash and the truck felt like "it was about to blow up" . So when I got home I busted out the trusty old scanner and this is what I got:
P0305- Cyl 5 misfire'
P0354- Ignition coil D primary/ Secondary circuit malfunction
P0304- Cylinder 4 misfire
The truck is a 2005 5.4 with ~130,000 on it and it runs very well for the most part. I have done the spark plugs before the summer and replaced them with the motorcrasft sp-515s. I am guessing the problem will be with the #4&5 coil packs. is there a way to troubleshoot these?
My 2007 Ford F150 Lariat (5.4L) with 82k miles popped a P0307 (#7 misfire) code one chilly morning. It began stumbing and hesitating a bit between 25-35mph, and each time it occurred, the engine light would flash on and off. Hesitation clears and light goes steady. Cleared the code and didn't see problems again for a month...until the next cold day (freezing temps). Popped again and hesitation returned. Ford dealer wants to change plugs. I've read coils can also cause the issue. Not sure if I can do either myself.
View 4 RepliesI have an 04 V6, yesterday it was perfectly fine...last night we had torrential down pours, high winds and standing water... not sure if any of that matters, but this morning I went to take the kids to school and my "BRAKE" light, the ABS light, and the exhaust lights were all on. Took it to a local shop and had them check for codes. They said it was U0121... lost communication with ABS module. What should I do? I drove it a couple of miles back to the house and again earlier this evening to see if anything felt different, but all seems the same.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Sports Trac, with a 4.0 SOHC engine ... 165k miles. Last week my check engine (CE) light came on and the code is P0401 ... too little flow on the EGR system. I first tried cleaning the existing valve - but CE light still came on. So I replaced the old EGR valve, cleaned the SS tube from the exhaust manifold back to the EGR valve and the CE light is still on. I have not driven the truck since I replaced with the new valve ... only fired her up in the garage. Is this something that could possibly clear up given a couple of miles?

I'm stuck how do I test the idm all the fuses are good and the relay is good I believe I switched with another one... 341,000 miles I love this truck .....
View 2 RepliesSo of course it has to happen 3 weeks after my warranty expires. My CEL comes on and I have it read and the result is P0440. I find out that my wife has a habit of topping off the gas tank and so I am thinking that she has probably ruined the charcoal canister. It is something easy to replace?
I have an 06 limited edition... Yes, she will not be topping off any gas tank anymore.
So I swapped an R motor into my 20th anniversary GTi. It idles fine as soon as I rev it and the idle comes back down it starts breaking up and I get a code for exhaust flap no communication. Of course, there is no communication since I don't have one. Is there a way to code this out or to trick the ECU to make it think its there? As soon as i clear the code the car runs fine, even if I just turn the car off and back on, it runs fine.
View 24 RepliesI have a 99 town car with 78,000 miles. I filled the tank and have run about 1/4 tank when the engine started to misfire. Got the Service Engine Soon light so went to O'reily. The OBDII code is p0306 cyl 6 misfire. What would you check first?
View 3 RepliesCEL, Triangle Displayed for the second time, Engine goes to READY, ICE starts and shuts down when I assume adequate charging is reached. However, OBD2 code thrown is P1636. Drives very well from what I can tell. But she just reported the CEL & Triangle went on again and she feels it is driving rough, like it is struggling.

View 7 RepliesI can't get an accurate reading on my dipstick of my '08 RX 350. I just tried after it sat all night and the oil is over the full marks. I just had the oil changed at Lexus and they used my 6 quarts of Mobil 1 and I told them not top it off to 6.5 quarts because I wanted to.
The tech said he did not add more than what I gave him. I just called Lexus and they said, yes it is difficult to get an accurate reading for some reason. He said check when the oil is warm and has sat for 5 minutes. Any others have trouble reading the oil dipstick accurately?
