Have a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer with power 3rd row seats that have only worked several times, bought vehicle new, can hear motor running but seats do not budge..

View 14 Repliesi have a 2011 fx4 the other day the power seat stopped working and i could hear a clicking sound coming from under the seat. I have searched on google and have found its very common on the older trucks to have a wire splice issue i was wondering if that applies to the 2011 or if there is any other common power seat issues.
View 2 RepliesToday my recline and forward/backwards on my seat stopped working. At the same time the high mount brake light quit as well as the head lights. The CD changer acted like it was changing. After sitting in a dry garage (rain all day) for a hour the headlights would work. Oh, my left license light is out also.
View 3 RepliesHorn just stopped working on my 06 mountaineer. 20 amp fuse is good. All other controls on steering wheel work fine (sound system, cruise control, no airbag problem). Also, when I press panic button on remote FOB the exterior lights flash until i press it again but no horn. Any thoughts?
View 5 RepliesMy dad has a 2000 Mountaineer (Millennium edition) and the Compass/Thermometer display has not worked in months. I looked through the Manual and looked through the fuse block and they do not specify which number on the fuse block deals with this. Its probably tied in with something else but its not clearly noted in the manual.
View 3 RepliesI have a 98 Mountaineer V8 AWD... The other day the power door lock on the drivers door quit working, even with the remote it wont lock the doors. If I press the other door lock buttons, the one in the rear and the other on the passenger side door, all the doors will lock. I have tried to chase down the wire ( pink with Yellow stripe, or green stripe, I forget which one it is now ) I don't have a wiring diagram to know where the wire goes.
I have even swapped the door lock buttons from side to side and it still didn't change anything... Is there something that is a common problem with these that I need to know about??? Looking for a wiring diagram of the doors?? There is no power going to the drivers door lock, but there is to passenger door. I am thinking of running a jumper wire from door to door and see if this will fix it...
The driver side door lock switch on our 1998 Mercury Mountaineer was no longer working. I replaced the switch with a remanufactured unit and it still doesn't work. The rest of the switches and keyless entry work as intended. Is there another likely reason besides a bad switch that would cause this? Which pins on the back of the switch should have power on them? Also, how do you test the switch?

View 2 RepliesOK, replacing the radiator in my 07 Mountaineer. Watched the U-tube video and purchased the sprecta model recommended. Instead to messing with the release on the lines I opted to remove the nut from the radiator. Easy enough, everything going well until I find that the new fittings on the Spectra are a different size. Now I have to remove the lines from the old connect. Bought the Lisle 39660 tool for Ford lines. I've been fighting with them most of the afternoon. I cannot get them off, tool slides in all the way, won't budge. How to get them off, I don't give up easy....but, all my knuckles are banged up.

But theres one problem. when it rains really hard, it leaks in the overhead light above the rearview mirror. We think it has something to do with the sunroof. and It leaks around the back glass. Not sure what is causing that.

I came across some power seats from a 2002 limited. what I need to know is, can I remove the non power seats and put in the seats from the limited, is the wiring already in the XLT model to just plug it in, or im I going to have to do some rewiring.
View 2 RepliesSo I picked up an 06 passat this weekend. Everything is great except that my heated seats aren't working. I'm sure a few of you are experiencing this cold snap. I checked the obvious being the fuse(es). I noticed on the right panel it doesn't accept a fuse. I assume this would be for rear heated seats? The one on the left seems to be unblown. Where to check? Or my next step?

View 4 RepliesI'm curious whether something is wrong with the cooling function on my seats. While a +3 on the control seems to heat the entire seat rapidly and at a high temp, a -3 only gives me a moderate airflow out of the area under my thighs. Is the air supposed to flow out of the entire perforated region of the leather (upper back and inner-side sections) or is what I am experiencing normal?
Was thinking maybe I need to replace a component to get a stronger airflow out of the seat.
My son was driving our 2002 Mountaineer when the P/S just quit. It never made any noise, had plenty of tranny fluid in it, it just quit. When I jack it up, the steering works fine, no hitches or sticky points. So, I replaced the P/S Pump, still no power.
Is there a valve between the pump and the rack itself that could have failed? There are no fluid leaks what-so-ever, never have been. This has me stumped.

I am having a problem with my driver's side heated seats on my 2011 Elantra. When I press the button to turn on the heated seats, the lights on the button turn on for about 1 second, and then turn off. The passenger side and back seats are all heating properly...just for some reason my driver's heated seats don't turn on. I stuck my hand under the seat and it feels like everything is connected. Any reason why the lights on the heated seat button turn on for about 1 second, and then turn off?

I found the fuse for the a/c and seat heaters combined, but no separate fuse.
Both seats are on. Pressing the button shuts them off, but releasing the button powers them back on.
I need a wiring diagram or how-to ???
I was talking to a coworker of mine this morning about the unseasonably cold weather we have been having in Atlanta the last few days, and she said that she left her sunroof open during a storm that we had the other day and now her heated seats aren't working. She has an XLE with leather heated seats. Blew a fuse perhaps? Or possibly destroyed the heating mechanism? Or maybe just the switch itself? Both seats are not working. The clock, radio, nav, etc are all working so its not the fuse. Also, the lights on the switches themselves are working so they seem to be ok.
