2004 F250 - My problem is that it started with no power on LCD (the one that shows the MPG,compass and outside temperature) but if I give toc, toc, toc with my knuckles the LCD works but it went off about 2 weeks ago and stop function,the other things like the sunroof switch and the 2 lights are ok...
View 5 RepliesAt work weve got an 02 F250 Lariat CC, and the overhead console has gone out. I looked in the owner's manual, and there was no fuse listed for the overhead console. Is there anything that I can do to fix it, or should we just go out and buy a new one?

I have recently aquired an overhead console and wiring harness from a 2000 F250 and want to install it in my 2001 F250 which did not come with one. The connector behind the passenger kickplate is different so I assume I'll be doing some wire splicing. After reading all the previous posts, I'm unable to find old bird. Apparently he's not around anymore. Looking for the template/wiring instructions for this retrofit?
View 3 RepliesLike most older superduty trucks my overhead console doesn't work. I removed it and got the thing apart. Low and behold there were 4 of the resistors loose in the plastic housing. Looking for a diagram that shows the location of these so I can resolder them? My truck is an 04 lariat with sunroof which seems to be different than non sunroof trucks.

Any reason a dead battery issue might affect the power locks and windows?

I have a '04 250 with factory tow mirrors that are power mirror and turn signal/clearance light. I want to upgrade to the '08 style. Which of these would work? I would think either, but I'm not sure about the wiring harness?

View 1 RepliesI bought a 2004 F250 SD XLT 4X4 crew cab which was a a roll over. The cab was replaced with a KR cab, its believed this was from a 2 wheel drive truck. My issue, the electric 4x4 does not work on the truck I have to get out and put it on manually.
Also, the ABS light is on the dash is on and the ABS doesn't work. The overhead panel doesn't work either. A friend of mine believes it could be a wiring harness issue but isn't sure replacing it will have any effect on the 4x4 and the ABS.
The sunroof drains on my '02 wagon clogged, causing water to start dripping out of the overhead console. ARF! The repair is gonna cost me a lot. What sounds really strange is that the mechanic tells me that the outlets from the drain tubes are slightly crimped. This makes them impossible to flush and requres removal of the headliner and interior A-pillar trim sot that the hoses can be pulled and replaced. The mechanic then tells me that he will cut off the crimped portion of the tube outlets to enable them to flow freely. Crimping the outlets sounds like a really stupid thing to do. What purpose could this serve?
View 7 RepliesA while ago (1 yr) I read and did the pull the wire thing to keep the lie o meter bright all the time. It worked fine, but all of a sudden it seems dim. I can barely read it in the day time. Fine at night. Could it be that the LED's are starting to fail, or some other weirdness? How to remove the overhead console?
View 12 RepliesBought a 2004 f350 lariat last fall. Overhead console was missing. Finally got around to replacing the display. Temp, compass works fine, but mileage and distance to empty are way off. Display typically shows 13.5mpg but when manually calculating am usually closer to 17. Distance to empty is way off as well. I did some research but didn't find much on how to recalibrate it. No difference with or without tunes.
View 8 RepliesSo I shorted wires out putting a new plug on my mirror, and now I have no turn signals, no backup lights and no overhead display that shows mpg and outside temp. All fuses are good, and I don't think it is my flasher relay just because I also have no park lamps or over head display.

View 6 RepliesI was wondering about swapping out the short OH console on a 2001 F350 Lariat with the longer one that has two doors for a garage opener etc? Are the clips on the base plate the same? I see the longer console shells on e bay for a little over 100 bucks which seems like a no brainer if it snaps in place of the shorty. Looks like the temp and compass slots are identical.
View 4 RepliesI have a 04 f250 with aprox 95k on it 5.4L I knew I was over mileage for a due oil change I haven't been driving it much it crossed my mind, as I am usually very adamant about changing fluids. I went to check my oil and only a smudge of oil on the dip stick. I know this is not good but the truck runs fine, no noises, no knocking, not a chatter from the valve train. Oil pressure was good everything seemed fine did I get lucky? I know it wasn't good I am not going to let that happen again everyone think I dodged the bullet?
