On my 2009 F350 the cruise control won't stay on. The slightest bump and it turns off and I have to push the resume button. It's not the brake pedal/stop light as it will do it with me holding the pedal up. I'm guessing there is a vibration/crash sensor to turn off the cruise control in case of a wreck.
View 6 RepliesMy 2009 F350 cruise control has never worked since I bought it used and I'm trying to get it fixed without a trip to the dealer but to no avail unfortunately. I have replaced the cruise control switch on the master cylinder and I checked every fuse connected to the brake system and the brake switch works as far as I can tell. I also tried the diagnostic check where you turn the truck on while holding the off button on the cruise control but the cruise light never flashes. I also thought maybe it was the clock spring or the connection in the steering column being loose but the clock spring makes no noise and the horn and airbag all checkout so I'm at a loss.

Anyhow, on the way home, I couldn't get the cruise control to work. I've read about the brake pressure switch problem before joining today. I can hit the on button and set it, and the cruise indicator lights up in the dash and will stay on, but will not hold the speed.
From what I've read, I can't seem to determine if the brake pressure switch will allow the light to come on or not. Should I be looking elsewhere for the problem?
Next fix - overhead console. That one seems simple.
So, all of a sudden, my cruise control won't turn on.
View 2 RepliesI just picked up a 2000 F350 V10 from a buddy of mine. While driving, I will turn my cruise control on but no light comes on. But it does come on when I hit the set/accel or coast button. But the cruise doesn't activate. I tried the self test and the Cruise light lights up after I hit all 4 buttons.
View 2 Replies2004 F-350 6.0 4X4 Manual transmission. When I drive on the freeway I can turn on the cruise system w/ the On switch. When I then use the Set button the green dash light comes on but immediately goes off when I release the button. Hold the button, the green light flashes until the button is released.
If I push in the clutch peddle while coasting down a hill and attempt to turn on the CC the light does not come on. Similarly with the brake peddle depressed. Periodically the ABS light comes on and I can tell by the brake peddle feel there is an issue with the ABS.
Additionally, the speedo is not accurate. I have an aftermarket GPS. When driving with traffic in a 65 I am reading about 55. My GPS confirms the speed of 65. The speedo flutters with about a 5 MPH span.
Yes, I have tried the Cruise Control Self diagnosis. It does not work on my truck. Key on w/Off button depressed and nothing.
I have checked for codes w/ Auto Enginuity. C1229 & C1184 both come up.
I have replaced the Vehicle Speed Sensor at the top/front of the rear differential.
I have replaced the Cruise Control Cut out Switch on the master brake cylinder.
Both parts are from Ford parts department.
So... What now?
2002 f350 7.3 diesel automatic. The cruise stopped about a 1/2 year ago and i have done the recall and replaced the steering wheel switch. but it still doesn't work. the horn works and speedometer works.

View 3 RepliesMy 2000 F-350 SD 4X4 V-10 has no cruise control, and the A/C controls are not powered. Is it possible that both these power option circuits are run through a fuse link, and better yet, through the same fuse link? A/C has been troublesome in the past, but the cruise quit one day without warning. All fuses are good. Tried jumping the A/C pressure switch to recharge it, but no power is present.
View 4 RepliesFor about 6 months the cruise control on our '09 F-250 has been intermittently failing. One time I'll set it and it will work fine, the next time I try to set it and it fails. No particular rhyme or reason to when it fails to set.
Some of the tests that I did indicated it was the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. It seemed to work perfectly a few times that I drove it after the installation but now it's back to working when it wants to.
I had a problem with the cruise on our '06 Ranger and it turned out to be the module. It acted a bit the same way in that it would set sometimes, other time not. I don't know if the two systems are similar or not.
2009 Ford F350 Diesel ....
I am trying to find my ABS controller because I have an intermittent ABS light on the dash and the code says something about signal loss on more than one wheel. So I assume I have bad wiring or a loose plug somewhere.
I found this (pic attached) on the left hand side under (or a little behind) drivers seat mounted under truck on the frame rail. I think it is the control module but when I tested wiring I found no continuity to any of the ABS wheel sensors.
Is this the control module?
02 E450 Super Duty V10, C class a motorhome, 29000 miles. Cruise stopped working a month or so back. I searched this forum and managed to fix it with the info provided. It turned out to be the pressure switch on the master cylinder, the recall had been done. I replaced the pressure switch and the harness with an aftermarket one from the local auto parts store. It worked well for about 200 miles, it knocked off again on our road trip last week. It was working on the road and we stopped for breakfast and it didn't come on again, no light in the dash or anything.
When I ran the internal diagnostics on the first repair all the lights would flash when the buttons were pressed and the servo would cycle through at the end of the test as it should, based on the diagnostic instructions. This time when I run the diagnostic test the light will flash when I first turn the switch on (holding the off button down) and when I push the on the button but will not flash when I press the other 3 buttons.
I have not been able to find a wiring diagram for this particular truck, I've found 6 or so but none of them match my fuse boxes under the hood and dash.
I have no trouble lights on in the dash CEL or ABS. I'm at a loss what direction to take from here.
I have a 2012 F-350 SRW with a 6.7 diesel. The other day I went to push the defrost switch and noticed it does not work. All the lights work in the switches, and the temp control works, but no matter what I push, defrost or floor, it stay in the vent only. Anything I can check??

View 4 RepliesI've got a '08 F250 XLT that the cruise control has become intermittent. It works most of the time but at times it will "go out to lunch" and not do anything. I've taken the controls from the wheel and didn't see any gummed up coke spills or anything there. It may not be anything but twice when it failed while on a trip I pulled over and shut the truck down. Started it up and the cruise would go back to working. Once I did this and it went back to working only to shut off in about 2 seconds but I was able to engage it again and it kept working. When it stops working there is no green indicator on the dash either.

Suddenly my cruise control dropped out. With some investigation I'm pretty sure it's that sensor or switch stuck to on position. Brake light is on. Checked the brake system and everything works well. Fluid is full all 4 pads replaced 2 days ago. Plenty brake power.
The question is: how can I bypass that switch to get my cruise control back? I see 4 wires coming out of the switch: red, blue, green, red/orange, green/purple. How do I do it?
2008 F350 hubs wont stay locked in when in auto position. everything stays locked while in manual and 4x4 works fine, but in auto the hubs wont stay locked while spinning. I was trying to find the problem when i noticed that one hub stays locked all the time and the other locks and unlocks as it should but it wont stay locked while spinning. My question is do I have two bad hubs or is their a leak that wont let the hub stay locked? Also on the hub that wont unlock is this a leak problem as well or a internal problem?
View 5 RepliesJust noticed today that my cruise control on/off button is sticking. Push to off it stays pushed off, push it up to on and it stays up so i must physically center it myself. Is there a way to remove the button and take it apart to clean and regrease the contacts so it doesnt stick? Kinda dumb actually since i might have used it eight or ten times since buying the truck new....
View 2 Replies2010 f250 cc 5.4 145000 miles. I bought it last fall have not drove it a lot. When using the cruise control and a load is added grade or hill in the roadway. It jerks hesitates or miss then cleans up and runs fine. When using the accelerator it does not do this. No codes.... Thinking about changing the plugs.
