1999 F250 - When I open passenger door , dome light and door ajar is not working but in driver's side everything is working. I have read several issues with this but everything seems to be opposite way lights and ajar are always on
Earlier I change passenger side power mirror and same time i release door jamb electric switch to check it but still no light when connector was released...
I just bought a 2009 F250 and when I open the door the dome light does not come on?? Is there a setting I am missing? Could it be a fuse?
View 3 RepliesI just bought a 2006 F250 Lariat. The previous owner did not have a manual for the vehicle. When I open a door the dome light does not come on. Is it supposed to come on in that vehicle? The exterior light above the rear window that illuminates the bed of the truck does come on when a door is opened so it makes me think that there is a wiring issue with the dome light. I can light the dome lamps with the switches on the lamp housing so I know that it is working and the bulbs are good.

View 2 RepliesToday I purchased a 2002 f250 GAS super duty 5.4. The first thing I've noticed wrong is: The driver door doesn't lock with the remote control but the passenger door does. I also noticed: when I shut the driver door, the dome light comes on and stays on but when i open the driver door, it shuts off (as if something's reversed). Do you think these two situations are related, and how can I fix it?
View 9 RepliesI bought a 2002 f250 Crewcab bout 6 months ago. A couple of months back I noticed that after driving it and turning off ignition and opening door my radio would stay on and doors would not respond to key fob or switch on doors. Eventually it would reset and radio would turn off and key fob would work. It also makes the locking sound when press on brake. It doesn't happen all the time though and that's only issue. Truck is in awesome shape only 106,000 on it, belonged to an old man who only used it to tow camper twice a year. I've read a few posts that have similar problems and have heard could be gem or vsm.

Issue: door ajar light stays on, power locks on driver and passenger door don't work, radio stays on after truck is off an door is opened.
Events leading up to issue: went to temporarily hook up a wolo dixie horn to see if it worked. Wanted to do it fast so I took + cable, tied one end to the battery terminal and then connected other end to dixie horn relay. I then grounded both negative wires to the truck. One ground on the frame the other I temporarily wrapped around a one of factory ground mounts under the dash. Immediately after doing this the problems stated above started.
How can I fix this. I need to fix this by tomorrow. I have a guy from Craigslist coming to look at the truck. Now the 4x4 issue.
Truck has zf6 manual and the electric 4wd select ****. Just thought I'd list this if it was needed to be known for solutions.
4x4 high light stays on in while 2wd all the time. 4 low will stay on after switching back to 4 high and 2wd but it goes out if I ether stop the truck shut it off then restart it. or back up and slam on the brakes. Also when in 4 high the front driveshaft won't spin. However It will spin when in 4 low.
Another random issue I'd thought I'd just list while I'm writing this.... Cruise control does not work. And when I press the "on" button and the "coast" button at the same time the horn honks.
Dome light (and bed light) won't shut off. Been browsing the forums for similar problems but most of the time it is the door switch issue. I have my doubts about this since the 'Door Ajar' message in the instrument cluster is not brought up, unless a door is actually open. Similarly, when locking the truck and doing a door check, I get only one beep, means all doors are shut. 2005 Ford F-250 Lariat....

Most of the time, the dome light operates as usual- close the door and the light stays on for a bit before shutting off. But about a quarter of the time, the light goes off immediately after the door is shut. It's done this the entire time I've owned the truck (about 2-1/2 years). Why?

The problem I am having is the dome light stays on, the map lights will not turn on, I have no door ding with the key in the ignition, and the radio wont turn on. If I press the clock button on the radio the clock comes on but the radio will not come on when I press the power button. What it may be? I already hosed the door latches with lubricant and that changed nothing. I checked all the fuses they are good.
View 2 RepliesOk so long story short, my Viper 2 way alarm, instead of the brain being wired to each of the 4 doors individually, the installer ran 1 wire to the dome light. seems to work fine as far as arming/disarming/locking/unlocking, but since the dome light stays on for 10 seconds or whatever after the door is shut.
When I arm it, the 2 way remote says "door open" because the light is still on so it thinks a door is open. this eventually times out and all the sensors arm, but theres a long delay. it arms fine and no alerts pop up if i lock the doors first from the outside keypad on the door, making the lights go off, then hit arm on the viper, and everything is good to go.
can i change it so no matter what, as SOON as i shut the door, the light goes off? i want there to be NO delay, if possible. if not, i may need to just have the installer run a wire to each door and take the single run to the dome light off, as it is sorta annoying to me.
I have a 1999 F350 and the passenger side front door suddenly will not open with the inner handle but it will open if I roll down the window and open it from the outside. The inside seems like it is locked but the locks are all working fine and all the other doors are working just fine .....

What do I need to fix this I am tired of leaning way over and tryind to open that door every time I turn the truck off. I have been told to spray wd-40 into the door catch are i used a whole can an it still isn't working...

My truck has been parked for a few days and we had lots of rain in our area. I notice the floor carpet on the passenger side was wet. I did not use the heater or A/C at any time for the pass month. The water is coming in from under the dash on the passenger side only. I shook the truck and water starts pouring out of this black unit. If you look inside you can see a fan. I'm guessing a heater unit.
Can a drain be clogged on the outside under the wiper guard? I will try to remove the plastic guards tomorrow and see if anything is wrong.
I found water under carpet next to door. Appears to be coming from area above center of vehicle. Only occurs during rain etc. Not from A/C or heater housing.
View 14 RepliesI just bought myself a 2003 F250 XLT with the V10 in it. Low miles, not beat, 6 speed, very happy with it. I noticed today that there was an inconsistent tapping coming from the passenger side valve cover. I searched online and was pointed towards the PCV baffle. I pulled the breather hose off and stuck my finger in the hole, and the baffle is indeed detached. Now I know that I need to pull the valve cover now to at least remove the baffle; is there anyway to reattach the baffle, or do I need to buy a new valve cover?

My truck won't recognize the closing OR opening of the driver door, and the driver door only. Naturally I tried the WD40 soak but it's been a few weeks now with no change.
View 6 RepliesI recently realized when showing a friend my 2012 Superduty c/c that the dome lights didn't come on. I tried all 4 doors and nothing. I am assuming that I may have unknowingly hit a switch. I thought that the only switch was in the door itself.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2001 f-250 that has dome lights that work on occasion. Mostly don't work. The inside dash dimmer won't turn them on. And they will sometimes work with the rear doors opening. Not the front(4 doors). The cargo light comes on all the time. So I don't know where to start chasing.
View 9 RepliesI just bought a 2012 Ford 4x4 F250 6.2 gas, when I get out of the truck the dome light/cargo light stay on for 9 to 10 minutes before they go out, someone said to spray the door latches and this should clear up, I have tried that and the lights do still stay on, there is an error code of left rear door ajar, my guess is something/sensor or switch has to be replaced, wondering what it takes for replacement/repair of the switch
View 14 RepliesAnd now for something completely different....This just started, Close either door and the dome light and cargo light stay on much longer than they used to. Timed it and they do finally go off after about 1/2 an hour. Everything else seems to be functioning ok. I searched the forums and didn't come across anything the same, however I got the impression that there is some kind of solenoid/switch that controls this function. 2002 f250 XL 4x4 Regular cab.
