I've got a 2005 F250, and I found a good deal on a 2013 tailgate in town. Just wanted to make sure a 2013 tailgate will fit a 2005 before I go through with this.

View 14 RepliesI just bought a 'new to me' 2005 F250, Crew Cab with a v10. The Carfax showed up clean but after doing some detailing on it, I realized it had been resprayed and there was a little wrinkle in the bumper. I tried using the ignition key to lock the tailgate but it didn't work, so I'm assuming its been replaced. Need to confirm that the ignition key should be the key that works the tailgate lock or is the tailgate a different key that they guy never gave me?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2008 F250 that the tailgate has always been real easy to open and close until the other day I could not get it to latch so i slammed it and it did latch and it worked a few days but now it won't latch at all. I can open and close the latch with the tailgate down but nothing I do will make it latch in place. I've tried spraying with PB blaster it didn't work. Not sure if its out of adjustment or what.

View 14 RepliesI know on certain years the F250 and F350 really weren't any different. Same axles etc. I guess the F350's got an extra overload spring?
I am more curious than anything what separated an F250 from F350 in this year range.
We got an F250 in June and had an ARE CX series cap installed on the truck yesterday. We didn't realize the installation of the cap would mean we lost the review camera when the tailgate was removed (DUH). We loved the review camera for hooking up our trailer and are wondering if there is any way to reinstall it on the cap. Or, purchase another camera and integrate it into the existing Ford screen......with the guidance lines?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to locate the part number (and a replacement) for the plastic piece that covers the top of the tailgate (when its shut) next to the step. It's about a 12 to 16 inch long piece of plastic which has some broken tabs on it, so everytime I drop the tailgate, it either flies out or starts to... I checked the fische online and I don't even see it in the picture. I did find some one-piece parts called "tailgate spoiler cap" but I didn't find any to fit a 2014 F-250 with the step on the tailgate. Should I just tell the wife to go hot-glue it ?

View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 f250 4x4 with a 5.4 motor the automatic trans is shot. I can get a replacement trans from 2000 f250 4x4 with the v10 motor. I tried my best to research it bell housing supposed to be the same so it should fit. But I'm not sure what they changed in those years internally or electronically.
View 2 RepliesProblem is two fold. First......my grill "Ford" emblem is chipping and fading. Second....there is rust along the inside edge of the tailgate near the weep holes. I have been told the rust must perforate the area in order for it to be covered by warranty. Truck is pretty close to pristine condition and two service reps said rust is coming from the inside of the tailgate. Doesn't make sense to me to wait for the rust to get really nasty before it being covered by warranty. I bet a new tailgate cost more than that!!!! Hey whats the deal with the eroding "Ford" emblem??? Looks like the coating is flaking off and letting the blue paint fade away. I don't think this is normal but that too doesn't seem to be covered by warranty !! Maybe I should think twice about my next vehicle !!!!! Comments ??????
View 14 Replies2013 F250. Wife turned the ignition on to roll up the windows before the storm (good thing), but left the switch on. Both batteries dead. I charged them both (although not completely). Started OK but have a check engine light on. Should I just put the batteries back on charge?
View 5 RepliesMy 2013 F-250 Super-Duty periodically won't start or come out of park. I have tried the ignition trick of tuning it to first position but with no luck. Sometimes I can see the light for the indicating light for being in park flashing on and off rapidly and manage to get it into neutral to start. It appears to be completely random. I potentially happens when I drive it for longer periods or do frequent stops around town.
View 3 RepliesBackground: Some inconsiderate fellow manually collapsed my mirror for me and now it will not fully swing open. I can force it, but will not lock in the full open position. I'm sure the locking mechanism is jammed or worse broke, who knows.
I've removed the mirror from the vehicle but am not sure how to get to the inner motors without breaking something.
I just bought a used 2013 F-250 4x4 and it came with the snow plow pkg. heavy duty front springs. I love the truck, but won't be plowing with it, and I don't need the rough ride (and don't like the look of the front end higher than the rear)
How hard is it to swap out the front coil springs and replace them with the "regular" ones?
I have 1700 miles on my truck and the A/C cycles between cold and warm air. I have taken it to 2 Ford dealers and they agree there is something wrong but their tests are apparently up to Ford specs. They logged complaints with Ford and they were told this was by design with the new trucks and it was normal for the compressor to constantly cycle. New 2013??

Took the shift motor off and freed it up and it worked fin till today. Changed the shift motor and still nothing. This truck has been nothing but problems since I have had it and now this ...
