I have a 77 F250 with a NP 205, when I lock it into 4H the 4wd works, when I lock it into 4L it goes into low range but the 4wd does not work. What the problem could be?
View 1 RepliesTruck is 04 supercrew with 5.4 and 140,000 miles. I have the typical shutter when cruising 55 - 60 and just ease on the throttle to pass someone. I chalked that up to the torque converter unlocking, if I punch it instead of easing into it, it will not shutter. As of yesterday, it acts like the converter is going to full lock up almost immediately. It will bang when it shifts and rpm's drop to lock up range. A few times it has killed the engine when I shift into D. No codes at all, I removed the programmer and installed the stock tune, no change, unhooked battery, no change, fluid is good, and twice after leaving stop signs it worked perfect until the next stop. I believe that it is an electrical control problem.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 f-250 6.0 liter turbo diesel. I was pulling a trailer with a golf kart on it and was not in tow haul. I was going up a hill and it shot up into 5th gear. I pulled into my house and shut it off and refired it and it acted fine. I went on a little test drive to see if it was going to do it again before I went on my trip. As soon as it shifted into third gear the tow haul light started to flash on my dash and went to 5th gear and would not down shift even if I did it on the column.
I scanned the truck with my snap on modus and it gave me these codes. P0706-transmission range sensor A circuit range/performance, P0707-transmission range sensor A circuit low input, and P1702-transmission range sensor circuit intermittent. I put a transmission harness in it and started it up and it ran fine and the codes were gone. I went for a test drive around the neighborhood and as soon as it hit 3rd gear it did the same thing as before. Today I put the old one back in and checked the codes so I could write them down and there weren't any so I went for a drive and it shifted through all the gears great and downshifted fine as well.
I pulled into my drive way to check for codes once again and there weren't any. I was gonna go for a ride in tow haul to see if it would do it and as soon I put the truck in reverse it started to idle high and the tow haul light started to flash again. I put it in drive to pull back into my drive way and it immediately shifted into 5th gear and threw the same codes...
I have an issue in the passenger door lock on my 2000 F250. My key rarely works on the passenger door. If it does work it takes a lot of wiggling and trying.
I have power locks that work normally and the key works great on the driver's door. How it works but I've heard there is an anti-theft feature where if you hit the lock button twice on the fob the door locks no longer work with the key until they are unlocked with the fob again. I figured my lock issue was related to that.
How to work on this system? What might cause this?
I noticed last night while messing with my truck that I have a constant small spark on my throttle linkage on my carb. BTW, it's a 77F250 with a quick fuel Ethanol carb with an electronic choke. That really probably don't make a difference anyway. Is this a common thing and do I need to run a grounding wire from the carb to the rest of the engine?
View 2 RepliesI am again trying to fix my truck. 2005 F-250 6.0 4wd, automatic. Truck now has 89K on it. Truck does not seam to go into lockup mode while driving down the road. it started just after I spun my wheels in a snow storm. No symptom's previous to this. No codes in dash no lights and also no codes when I checked it with an obd code reader.

View 1 RepliesI have a 1999 F250 super duty with the V10 engine. I purchased it when it was @111k miles. When I got it the passenger side lock did not always work and after time they both stopped. I have ready the post on how to repair them for little or no money that is not my question. My question Is there a way that I can tell if the truck had a remote for the locks when it was new and if not could I put it in the truck? Yes my wife likes that I unlock her door first but a remote would be nice when it is raining.
View 13 RepliesI have a 77 f-250 with a 460 engine and a 4bbl Motorcraft carb and its leaking a substantial amount of fuel out of the newly replaced filter that is attached to the carburetor. The fitting is tight and I even tried buying some small gaskets to seat it, but that didn't work either.
View 1 RepliesSo I have had my Platinum for a year now and really love it but there are two things that drive me nuts. First is the range of the romote start, which is the factory installed version. There is no range you pretty much have to right next to the truck for it to work so what is the point? Any way to increase the range?
Second is the audio system, I have the in-dash NAV/Sync system. I use my iPod pretty much all the time. I have it hooked up via USB. Now sometimes when I am listeng to it while driving the turn off the truck do something get back in and stert the truck the iPod does not play, I have to go to the NAV screen and push the USB icon and then it will start to play, other time I just start the truck and it play automatically. I have my system to play automatically but that is not always the case.
Have a 99 ranger 3.0 4x4. No forward unless put in low range and higher rpm to get to go forward, reverse is fine, fluid looks and smells fine.

Mine is currently 30 +/- feet I recently replaced the remote batteries and saw no improvement.
On my Toyota it is 200 +/- feet easily..
I am just trying to determine if a trip to the dealer is needed.
New owner of a 2011 Prius II. I have put 600 miles on it so far.
1. Is there a way to make the car automatically lock when I get out of it without having to dig my key out of my purse and hit the lock button or run my finger over the door sensor? It seems to me that once you get out of key range, it should have an option to auto lock - or maybe after a certain amount of time autolock.
2. On a Prius II (no auto setting on headlights) - is there any problem at all with just leaving the headlights in the on position all the time? They turn off automatically 30 seconds after I leave the car, so is there a downside to doing this?
Just installed 2 new door lock actuators. While at a very long stop in traffic, a door lock clicking sound started to come from the door panels. The actual locks were not moving. Just the sound.

Reason I ask is because long story short My truck did not come with a factory tow package and I have added the hitch and seven pin wiring, I am lacking the HD trans cooler. Recently purchased a travel trailer and am a little worried about getting the tranny too hot. I have an Edge tuner and set the gauge to read tranny fluid temp. Without the trailer I have been seeing temps that range in the 130's to 150's, with the trailer I have been seeing temps in the high 160's, with a spike to 176 when going up a hill. I plan to add the tranny cooler but cash is little tight at the moment. Just wondering how hot is too hot.
View 14 RepliesI have an 06 F-250. I have had this truck since Oct 2013 and had never use 4 wheel drive here in southern Alabama, so my question is i lock my hubs, turn my selector to 4 high and it works. Now selecting to 4 low and I get nothing.

View 1 RepliesI have the factory keyless entry on my '03 F-250 SuperCab. I have always had to be within about 5'-8' of my cab to get the doors to lock/unlock. I thought it was normal for the longest time, but recently learned it's not. I am out of warranty now so I need to try and fix this myself. What is the location of the receiver module, and what it looks like? Also, is there an external antenna w/ the factory keyless entry, and where is it at? Transmitters are fine, as is battery power. Only think it could be is receiver/antenna.
View 14 Replies2000 6.8 v10 F250 supper duty crew cab. 4x4 high switch's on (manual lock hubs installed) but 4x4 low will not engage. Brake input/out put tested good. Trans switch Park/"N" both test good. PCM reads switch output in all modes, (dash 4x4 selector). The only other issue I am having is the Vacuum is bad ( defrost default no blend door operation). Would vacuum loss prevent 4x4 lo range engagement (with manual hubs ) or should I go to the solenoid, relays on the case/ right fender?
View 4 RepliesSo I looked at an 03 Excursion tonight, has some of the usual suspects, but the rear hatch lock doesn't work at all, with the key or with the power locks. This anything other than a "replace its guts" type operation? I've done the foil thing with my F350, actually i cut pennies and replaced the piece with that, but this seems mechanical.
