Ford Wiring/Electrical :: How To Dim Led Lights

Mar 3, 2017

I added some of those led light strips in my truck for courtesy lights. I need to cut the amount of light they put out in half. What resistor or what not i should add to dim them down?

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: Reverse Lights Wiring - Adding 2 LED Spot Lights

What I am trying to do it put in 2 led spot light for added backing up light. What i want to do is have them turn on when put into reverse but also have a switch i can use to turn them on when not in reverse. Just need to know what relay I need and if it even can be done.

I was also thinking of just taping into the wiring harness and adding a wire that goes to the spot lights and another wire that goes to a switch that I could turn on and supply power to the light when not in reverse (I know it will light the revers light also) but is it ok to do that?

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: 7 Pin Trailer Wiring - Running Lights Not Working

Just bought an 04 Super duty with the factory plug 7pin and 4 pin plug. Checked the fuses and finally tracked down the 2 relays under the hood but can't seem to find anything wrong. Everything on the trailer works except for the running lights. Is there another fuse or something I have missed? Trailer works fine on my buddies Duramax and worked fine on my old 97.

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: No Fuse From Lights In Cab?

I need to hook up a lamp for my mechanical oil pressure gauge and tested all the fuses, they are either on or on with key in run position, but I found none that went on with the lights, which of course is what I need. So now I guess I start randomly sticking needles in wires under the dash and testing for a possible light switch dependent circuit? Or run a wire through the firewall and tap a wire near a running light? There's got to be an easier way, but my Haynes manual seems useless--one wiring diagram for 1995-2008. I will be forced to run it off a key on circuit which means the lamp will be on anytime I drive, day or night, unless I install a toggle switch--not the best way to do it though.

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: OEM Fog Lights Not Working

Truck is in signature. All of a sudden my oem fogs don't work. I took a volt meter to the connection where the bulb plugs in and no juice. Checked the fuse and its good.I get 12 volts or so at fuse for fogs.. The fog light illuminator lights at the switch when I pull the switch. Is there a relay somewhere under the hood. All the relays in the fuse box checked out good and none of them in my truck guide were labeled for the fogs anyways. Looked for 3 hours and cant find a thing. If all else fails how do I cut the wires at the fog lights and run wire to cab with toggle switch? I know I need a relay right? I am not familiar with hooking up relays..

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: Brake Lights Not Working

My brake lights don't work. Turn signals, tail lights, hazard flashers work, but if I hit the brake, nothing happens. What could possibly be the problem? Could there be a wiring issue?

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: Brake Lights Not Working

I did lower the steering column, onto the seat. Also lowed the dash and the wiring. Does it sound like the Multifunction switch could be bad? I can put it in drive, so I don't think it's the brake light pedal switch, that's bad.

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: Rigid Lights Flicker And Appear To Be On When Off

This AM noticed the D2 driving lights appeared to be "on" the brightness was about 10% of the norm. Went into cab and flipped the switch on and the lights lit up normally. Turned off. Looked again and lights were "on" in a dimmed way with a noticeable "flicker" Disconnected wire from power source. These are 2 months installed. Is this an internal fuse in the wiring harness or the cube shaped relay? other?

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: No Running Lights While Driving At Night

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 lariat with a bit of a problem. My running lights (not sure if correct term, I'm talking about the tail lights' illumination that stays on while you drive at night) are not working. My headlights and parking lights do work, and my brake lights and turning signals also work. I have put in a brand new brake light switch and checked every fuse and relay, but no luck.

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: 1991 F250 - Dash Lights Have Gone Out Entirely

I have a 1991 idi diesel f250. My dash lights have entirely gone out and i cannot seem to figure out why, i checked the fueses under the driver dash and under the hood for that matter and nothing is blown.

At the same time, the dome lights, door lights, cab lights, stereo, windows, ever the light in the ash trey etc, work perfectly fine. Could a wire have come loose behind the dash cluster and shorted out everything in the driver area?

I still get the high beam signal, check engine, engine, wait to start, and water in fuel light in the cluster. but no back lighting (when turning the key to the on position)...

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: 2002 - Two Brake Lights In The Taillights Don't Come On

I discovered today that I have no brake lights on my '02 Excursion. The center brake light works fine, but the two in the taillights don't come on. Stopped and bought new bulbs on the way home and replaced both, but the ones I pulled out were not blown. Checked the fuse - OK. Taillights and turn signals both work fine.

Ford - Electrical-wiring - Focus :: Lights Dim - Pulse Down When Accelerating / Decelerating Always

2004 Ford Focus ZX3. Manual Transmission. Alternator replaced 1-2 years ago for different symptoms/issue.

My problem is that the headlights dim or flash (pulse down to very very dim then back to full) when accelerating or decelerating. Pretty much only when in gear.They will go back to normal when I depress the clutch pedal (usually I think) or am coasting in neutral. The fan in the car and other electrics/indicators seem to suffer from same power fluctuations too.

A little while after seeing this, I noticed a faint then more pronounced clicking coming from left side of dash. (Fuse/relay box?) It seemed to click when the "shift" light would pop on and off about 20% of the time the light did. Otherwise mostly when accel/decel.I started pulling relays and driving around a parking lot to see if it was one. The click seemed to disappear after pulling the horn relay. (And not the "Battery saver" relay next to it. Odd) The clicking issue does not happen all of the time when driving. The power dimming does.

Ford Wiring/Electrical :: 2007 F350 - Parking Lights Won't Work

I am beginning to think that I need a whole forum dedicated to my trucks wiring issues ... I finally got my reverse lights to work but my newest issue Is that while driving tonight i lost power to my parking lights, my instrument cluster lights, and my heat control lights... everything still works inside (gauges all act properly but they won't light up) and i still have turn signals and brake lights, and headlights. I really don't know where to start with this one. I don't have an owners manual so i can't figure out what fuses to check or what relays to look at. It is a 2007 f350 diesel....
