Tranny loses all gears forward and reverse intermittently. I turn ignition off and on a couple times and everything is fine. It might be electrical because when I take key out of ignition and get out of car my power windows and radio are still working.
View 2 RepliesToday I was driving on the interstate at about 70 mph and my truck seemed like it popped out of gear...no loud noise or anything. I was able to coast off the off ramp and my truck was still running but sounded a little odd when I revved it. No gears work and when i revved it in gear it sounded like something loose in the bell housing area maybe. After I turned it off I was not able to restart it, sounded like the starter was just free spinning. Flywheel maybe?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2009 Prius with 65,000 miles and have recently noticed sensitivity trouble with the touch screen. At times it will not react to my button presses and other times if I touch one part of the screen the touch will be registered in another area of the screen. Usually I turn the screen off (if I am able to get the touch of the off button to register) and restart later.
View 9 RepliesToyota 2004 Camry door locks are working intermitently. I can only get in drivers door with door fob from outside. Inside, I can only unlock drivers door. Took to dealer and they said they tried the door fob and it work 50 times when they tried it. The key only works in the driver's side. The passenger side is very difficult to get to work. They said they couldn't do anything unless it was acting up. It does - when they are not there. Saw on line 2003 doors had a problem. What do I need to tell dealer to get them to fix this?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2004 Prius with 108,000 miles on it. The MFD is starting to spaz out and work intermittently. It just started to stop working, would be listening to some music and all the sudden would die, no temp, no climate control, no avg mpg, no miles driven, no battery info, the base screen would be there without any data. So its sometimes there when I start the car and sometimes not, sometimes it dies and others it cames back. I called my local Toyota dealer they suggested I needed to replace the Multi-Function-Display with a refurb. I am wondering if there might even be a way to fix the glitch in my current unit...
View 9 RepliesI am having issues with my auxiliary relay on my truck. It will work intermittently. It started with me just needing to give the relay a light tap for it to work, and is now progressed to needing me to push really hard on the relay for it to turn on, but then as soon as I let go it shuts off again. I have replaced the relay with a new one and it's doing the same thing, and have even tried some di-electric silicone on the terminals with no success.
I was thinking of pulling out the entire fuse/relay panel and see if the contacts have pushed out, but then I read a thread regarding the panels and issues involving the removal the terminals and breaking the panel. 2004 F350 CCSB 6.0L...
I have a 2005 Grand Caravan, this winter has been a cold one. The GC has always started without problem but after I back out of my parking spot, it sits outside, I put it into Drive and it will not move and after I give it a little gas it would still not move. None of the gears seem to work, but if I wait a little bit and the Van warms a little more it will go into gear and all is good. This does not happen all the time and when it does go into gear and I drive I do not have anymore problems until the next time it will "act up" on me again. Is this a problem or is it a cold problem and not a transmission problem?
View 7 RepliesHaving issues with speed sensors on the transmission in their 2012 Elantra? My Elantra has 201K km. Transmission will intermittently shift harshly or sluggishly between all gears. If I turn the vehicle off and restart it it will go back to normal, sometimes for weeks at a time before another occurrence. Also after long periods of driving when the vehicle comes to a stop, say for instance at a red light, when brakes are applied the car will gently lunge forward or flutter. No engine codes.

It has 150,000 miles....the cars been working just fine untill DEC of last year. I had the dealer check the transmission fluid and they said it was low....so they flushed and refilled the transmission oil...they didnt see any metal but that didnt fix the problem.....
Now i have the car not shifting correctly ....theres a delay when shifting in all gears but it is intermittent, sometimes it shifts hard and sometimes you can just baby the throttle and it wont shift as hard.....once on the freeway the car runs fine......but when coming to a stop you can feel the downshifting.....
I figured it has something to do with the valve body....my concern is the dealerships have quoted me 2000$ to replace the valve-body....the cars paid for and was wondering if i should just move onto a different jetta or fix this one?
If i fix the valve body will this jetta have the same issue later? Also i do have the vacuum pump leaking engine oil....not much can this be fixed while doing the valve body job???
Basically one of my keys will only intermittently work on the doors (always works for ignition and the hatch). As soon as I use the remote, the KESSY re-syncs or something and then it works for a little and then after some period of time (say from when I leave my car in the morning until I go to leave work in the evening) it eventually won't work again. Its not the battery, the dealer already reprogrammed all the keys, and its just this particular key, the other seems to always work.
View 24 RepliesSadly I own a 2010 Toyota Venza. For about 3 months(since May) I have been having problems with the air conditioner and front defroster. It works intermittently. Sometimes it will work for 3 days straight. Sometimes it will stop working while driving(it will blow hot air), but most of the time if I am driving and it works it will keep working for the whole ride. If I need to restart the car after a short stop it tends to fail, and then the next morning is a crap shoot.
It seems to work better when it is hot out, but not always. I had a front end collision in November, and had the condenser replaced and the system recharged. The defrost worked fine all through the winter. Since May I have had the system recharged 2 times. the second time with dye in it (no leak). I was told to change the condenser valve (150.00), and then I was told that was not the problem, and that I needed to change the compressor ($2,000.00 for the part alone). The compressor seems to work.
2015 GTI, my intermittent wipers work intermittently, sometimes yes, sometime no. A days driving in the rain and I had to switch to low speed for wiping many many times, maybe 10th time they worked as they are supposed to. Shut off for refuel and back to non working.

I am having problems getting the gauge cluster lights to come on with the head lights. Sometimes when I move it over a bump or two it turns on. Sometimes the trick is to open and close the doors a few times it shakes the car into turning on the dash lights.
I know I have an electrical short somewhere, and I am not sure where to begin diagnosing this problem. Is it the switch? A bad connection to the gauge cluster? A bad wire? I've already pulled the switch and cleaned all the contacts. What else should I do?
I keep trying to go on ecs tuning and the home page is fine but when I try to go into other parts it takes ages and sometimes says an error occured and does not work...
View 2 RepliesI have a ac compressor that doesn't work all the time. I have read how voltage or low power can effect this. When mine does not start up, if you tap the end of the compressor with a rubber mallet, it engages and runs fine for an extended period. Am I dealing with a power supply issue, or could this just be a bad ac clutch?
View 1 Replies2005 GC. My headlights work some of the time. All all other lights work fine. Turning the switch on and off repeatedly sometimes get the lights on but sometime I just have to wait/drive abit before they come on. They also do not shut off automatically after the alotted time.
View 8 RepliesMy remote locks only work intermittently when I press the buttons on the key fob. The locks on the drivers door and rear drivers side door also only work occasionally. If it turns out it's the module in the driver's door, is there a way to repair it? Or must it be replaced?
View 1 RepliesSince the day I purchased my Touareg, the heated steering wheel has worked inconsistently (usually not at all). I bought it in November of 2003 and thoughout the winter I brought it in 5 times telling them that it would not turn on when I started the truck. Of course, having an early VIN truck I don't have the symbol that tells me the wheel is supposed to be heating, so I have to guess... But with below freezing temps, I turn the truck on, push the button and nothing happens. After 5 minutes I push the button again and still nothing happens. Every time I took the truck in, the dealer told me there were fault codes in the truck saying that the heater was stopping because of a lack of required voltage. Several electrical fixes later (some parts blew out at various times and were replaced), it seemed to work. Then Spring came and it won't turn on until fall when it gets cold again... This past fall, I reported the problem again and they put several updates and fixes into the truck but they have not been able to fix the problem.
Today, I went back into the dealership and they told me this was "normal"... The note they put in was as follows:"Tested steering wheel heater in GFF. Steering wheel heater is not failing. Customer will only be able to tell if the heated wheel is working on really cold days. Steering wheel only heats up to 77 degrees."
When it works, there's no mistaking that it's on and it does shut off when it reaches a warm temperature. But when it's 25 degrees out and it doesn't warm the wheel - it seems to me that it's broken... Have such a hard time telling when their heated wheel is working?
Having problems with their radio buttons sometimes working, sometimes not? I'm wondering if I need to "pop off" the buttons and clean contacts or if I'm going to have to replace the radio. This is in a 2008 Saturn Aura, but I'm sure this radio is in other GM cars.
View 3 RepliesI have the Winter Package on my Treg and when I can get the heated steering wheel feature to work it's awesome. My problem is that it doesn't ALWAYS seem to work... Sometimes when I push the button, nothing happens. Other times, it turns on and off on demand. The salesman suggested that it might only work when the heated seats are on but that doesn't seem to make it work either.

Bought this truck two months ago, the lot had the engine rebuilt due to bad bearings, so fresh motor. They forgot to recharge the AC, so I had them charge it when I purchased it. It blew icy cold every things until a few weeks ago. It wouldn't work, then randomly it would, then it would quit, etc. Today it's 97 and I had it on with my kids in the truck, hot air.
I tried turning it off and on, still hot.
I tried seeing if the temperature was stuck and moved it to hot, it got sweltering hot, back to cold, just warm air. There is no difference between vent and max AC.
I went to the store, picked up a refrigerant filler with gauge and a can of R-134. I hooked it to the low end of the system and was surprised that my pressure was about 60PSI. Great, they over filled it at the dealership. I released the pressure down to 40psi and checked, sill hot. I figured maybe something was weird and they might have mixed good refrigerant with bad and that's why it was intermittent.
I released all the pressure down to 0 PSI. I then put on the can of R-134 and filled it to spec. Sill hot air. I removed the harness from the pressure switch and jumped it, getting sparks when I connect the wire, so it's connecting, but still hot air, probably not the switch.
What's going on here? Could they have over filled it and killed the system or something? What is likely broken here? My heater works like a champ, my AC just blows environment temperature air.
