I just had the Eurojet TBE installed and I notice the exhaust rattles loud at idle and startup... I want to say the piping is hitting something and causing this.... should i hang the exhaust higher.....

View 3 RepliesMy car is just about to hit 100k . I'm installing coils soon and getting ecs tunings stage 2 refresh kit while im at it. I've noticed some rattles and a few clunks coming from underneath the car. The best way I can describe the rattles are a metal on metal sound, like something is loose when I go over bumps and it sounds like its coming from the front wheels. The clunk is not loud, and not consistent but I noticed it today that when I got on it to merge onto the highway. I can feel it through the floorboard which kind of worries me. I was wondering while I'm replacing the suspension, new wheels etc, what else should I replace? Or what should I look for to be loose underneath, bolts etc. I'm hoping that the refresh kit would provide a more solid feel and take care of some of these annoying sounds.
View 5 RepliesRecently its been pretty cold here, and in the morning or when it sits for awhile i start her up and about 10secs after i start her the little "stop" light comes on and says "check coolant". so went through all that, checked the service manual and dont see any red flags. and if i were to turn it off and then turn it back on it wont show again... but still curious.

View 3 RepliesI have a 94 ranger 4L. I am looking for a more loud exhaust sound in/outside the truck and at idle. I have had a cherry bomb turbo on it and it was ok but not loud enough for my liking. I just picked up a flowmaster 40 2 days ago and it sounds good but again just not loud enough for my taste and kinda a lot more. I was looking for a louder muffler that is not a glasspack and would like to stay under like 80 or so.
I also thought about getting a high flow cat which i think might make some more sound but was not sure. Im running the stock pipe which is 2" and end in back of the wheel on the right. I look at the Hooker Headers Maximum Flow Muffler which i thought would be louder b/c it's more straight through the muffler so it would put off more sound better. What would u recommend for something more loud ?
I've got an 04.5 pg gli and its mostly stock. I think its too quiet. I want to make it a bit louder. I've been looking and I'm not sure if I want to get a full exhaust system or what.

No lights on dash, but I do have emissions here so I'd like to get it fixed early 2016.
Curious what the shop charges for this install. Or if it's worth it to do both at once.

View 6 RepliesSome questions I have regarding he bad gas mileage my car is getting. Up until winter, my car (2005 mk4 gli) was getting 300-330 miles to the tank. I thought was reasonable, about 150 to a half tank. The setup is pretty normal, apr stage 1 tune (87,89,93,100 octane) with bolt ons (upgraded n75, DV, things like that), a cat back exhaust (unsure of brand), 90k miles was just passed last week. Timing will be done in the spring.
The car has no stutters upon acceleration and idle is staying pretty consistent about 900 rpms. I know there is an exhaust leak, at the flex pipe as I seafoamed the car this fall and discovered that. My question is, which down pipe to you suggest to be the best for the money? I've seen a bunch of different brands, weather it be 42dd, ecs, places of the such.
Would it be cheaper and more efficient to just get a turbo back or stick with the cat back and stay happy? Also, I'm assuming if the leak is in the flex pipe, that the down pipe needs replaced all together. The car DID have a check engine light, for the leak. Since winter the cel has gone away and the gas mileage dropped drastically. When I get a new down pipe or fix the exhaust leak, I also want to change the rear O2 sensor. I believe personally this maybe causing my gas mileage info.
Lastly I have a fuel filter to replace the oem one that's been in there. The same thing happened to me last winter and when summer came around, the gas mileage went up to normal 300-330. I drove to h2oi and was getting well over 30 mpg. Now I'm lucky to get 18mpg.
Lately I've noticed an exhaust smell coming into the car when idling. Could it be an gasket. Car doesn't sound different at all or anything.

View 1 RepliesI recently just put a set of b&g rs's on the car and now it appears that my 3'' exhaust is hitting and rattling/striking the bend that goes over the rear axle, I know I can raise the car and keep it from doing such but that kinda defeats the purpose of lowering the car, Just trying to see if there is something out there, like polyurethane hangers or something along those line that might alleviate the problem.
View 20 RepliesI have a 42 DD tb exhaust. And so far I've used a 3" exhaust clamp over the last hanger (after the muffler) which raised the exhaust all the way up against the heatshield, eliminating the rattle over the rear axle beam. But the exhaust was rattling against the heatshield.
So I bought 15 ft of exhaust wrap and wrapped the section that comes in contact with the heatshield. It worked a bit but it still rattles a little! I hate this rattling! How to get rid of the rattling? Should I just use more exhaust wrap?
Literally drove the car yesterday for three hours nothing was happening. Went to turn it on today when it idols a little constant white smoke comes out of the exhaust! Then when I'm driving and my turbo boost lets out a big cloud of smoke comes out. What could this be? Also just filled my car up with gas from empty today if that matters

View 9 RepliesSo I recently swapped out my cabin air filter, no other major changes or issues... but ever since I noticed that when I'm in neutral or at a stop, I can start to smell the faint odor of exhaust fumes. No CELs and it's not coming from the gas tank area like I know some have experienced - only from the vents. It's noticeable to me, but nothing unbearable by any means. I definitely never had this before - and my old filter was really dirty so not sure why a new one would give me any issues of have anything but BETTER air quality. I notice that I can curb the smell by pushing the circulate air button, effectively shutting off any outside air from coming in.
