Recently bought this used 07 model in June of this year. Was enjoying the drive till the cd player ate the cd. Power and eject buttons no longer work, including Scan, Seek, Track buttons. Only the volume and tuner dial works, plus all steering mounted controls for audio. The only way to "turn off" the radio and cd is to toggle it to Aux. Is this deck pretty much shot?
View 3 RepliesMy wonderful three year old put a penny into the CD player. First it played, then it stopped and we got weird loud popping noises, even with the volume off. Now the radio/CD player is off and can't be turned on.
It seems like a good time to upgrade, but what should I be looking for as far as no power to the audio?
Fuse?
I know nothing about this stuff.
I noticed that when I active BT on my phone it connects to my cars phone BT automatically. But has a harder time when I try to connect to the portable audio player to stream music. I have to turn off the BT on my phone and turn it back on and then hit the "connect" button for the audio player and it works. Then I have to go back to the phone screen and hit connect again.

View 2 RepliesSometime while playing music on a thumb drive, the song will stop playing, and even though I can browse to another song, it won't let me switch songs. The only thing that turn off the car, then turn it back on. This is not a good solution if one is driving on the highway. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging in the thumb drive, switching to radio and back to USB, but this does not work. I've tried turning the audio off, then back on, does not work. Is there a way to re-boot the audio unit without turning the car off and on?
View 11 RepliesMy used 2010 IV isn't accepting disks anymore. It happened suddenly where it wouldn't load consistently and then after ejecting all disks nothing loads anymore it keeps pushing against the disk when it's set to load. The car is under the 60-day warranty but I'm assuming it isn't covered under the warranty, but I'll ask tomorrow - I have 75k on it.
View 6 RepliesI bought a 05 prius, the model has the upgraded audio package and came with a cassette player. First time we used it it worked fine, the second time we tried to rewind another cassette and it got stuck. The audio screen says audio off, i'm unable to do anything with any of the buttons and the CD player and cassette stays powered even when the car is off.

View 7 RepliesWhenever I am listening to an audio device, like a phone or MP3 player, via the AUX connection, and I plug the device into a 12v outlet to charge, I get a loud buzzing noise. It matches the ICE in frequency, for example when I accelerate the static noise "ticks" increase in frequency, like it's picking up the engine cylinders firing. When the ICE shuts off, the static persists but it's not as loud.
I've used many different devices and both the console and dash 12v outlets with the same result.
I've tried many different car chargers- high quality, low quality, and even an Energizer battery charger with a USB port, but the noise always comes through.
Is there a solution for this? Or perhaps is there some "power cleaner" accessory I can purchase that isolates this noise from the outlet?
Just got my 06 Prius. The screen shows that Audio Off. The radio doesn't want to turn on. What could be the issue. 06 Prius with nav, Bluetooth, JBL etc. Everything else seem to work except the radio. Fuse perhaps?

View 2 RepliesNavigation system fails to read DVD when it heats up on my Prius IV. Works fine when cold at start up or when air conditioner is running in warm weather. Now that it is cold outside and a heater is necessary, it will intermittently fail to read the DVD. This is an updated DVD. The old DVD had no problems but I have since dumped it. Do I need to replace the new DVD?

I thought it was San Diego but last week, I drove to Orange County and listened to 102.7 which should have strong signal and HD radio was still going in and out.

View 2 RepliesI have an '08 prius, no Nav or JBL, with a little over 50k miles on it. My radio and MFD have recently stopped working. The MFD screen is off and unresponsive. The buttons around the MFD are lit, but pressing them doesn't do anything. Same for the radio, it's off and won't turn on - the buttons are lit and pressing them does nothing (except the button to eject the CD works). The steering wheel controls for the radio have no effect either.

I crank it to 25, and can watch it go up and up. It doesn't always happen, but all of a sudden I'll find it's very loud and check the setting and it's u past 30.
My 3 months is up and I don't want XM. Any way to get rid of the icon so that the mode button doesn't cycle to it?
View 3 RepliesI recently purchased a Prius. I had Sirius set me up with a trial membership and send a signal a number of time to my radio, but it keeps resetting to zero. I've tried turning the radio on off--the "tech support" at Sirius told to take car to an audio shop to check it. I frankly do not think it could be a problem with the radio--everything works on all other channels and channel 1 works with the previews. I don't know what an audio person could possibly do--I think the issue has to be with Sirius.
View 2 RepliesMy Sat radio in my PIP cuts out in a lot of places. My wifes car doesn't do this in the same spots. Is this a warranty issue or does the Sat radio have a smaller internal memory then most cars and can't handle trees, small hills, etc.
View 16 RepliesI have been noticing a more frequent failure in my XM radio. I sucked up the extra $2000 for the GPS and use the XM radio every day, but lately, the radio cuts in and out or does not come on at all. I have to restart the car and then it will come back. The FM and AM don't fail but the XM is failing more and more frequently. My problem is it will be very hard to recreate since it only does it every once in a while.
