I am thinking of installing amp in 2010 prius. Question how is the 12v battery keeps its charge. I am assuming the amp will be drawing power from 12v battery. When the engine kicks on during driving it is charging the hybrid battery. I am afraid of killing the power from 12v battery.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010, Prius III. Whenever I plug my blackberry storm into the usb slot, my phone says "there is not sufficient power to charge the phone". I've tried charging with the Storm 1 and Storm 2 but neither seem to work. I have plugged in my ipod and it seems to charge just fine. Is it just the phone that won't allow it to charge or is it the fact that it's a micro usb that the car may not be able to handle? Or maybe the usb port is faulty.

I'm wondering if I would have to bypass the USB port and buy a cigarette lighter charger or can I just use the Apple USB cable at all times.

I was wondering how big of an amp you can put on the 12v battery. I have a 2200w rms amp(won't be getting close to that in the near future) and i'm worried about the onboard electronics and the inverter ( which I assume is like I alternator).
View 7 RepliesI have a 2010 Toyota Prius. The battery went dead, so I jumped it. The car started fine, but the Nav system is all black and says "Please insert Nav DVD". I do not have the original Nav DVD. How I can get around this? I've read some posts saying to disconnect the battery, but I'm not really sure how to do that. I feel like i've been through this before and the solution was simpler. In the past, I remember an option to 'skip nav dvd setup' or something like that. Unfortunately, I don't have that option.

For the second time this year, my 12v battery died after the car was driven very lightly for about 6 weeks (taken out for 20 minutes or so once a week), and now nothing happens when I hit the AM/SAT button. It never changes from AM. How to keep the battery from dying in the future, and how to make the audio system recognize the SAT function again?

Does it matter if cell phone is off? I always carried by Camry remote control in my purse with my off cell phone. Camry is 7 years old and battery still works.
View 2 RepliesCan Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.
View 6 RepliesI Learned on a Toyota Avalon web page that you can force your audio system to reboot itself by pressing the power button for three seconds. On the Avalon, it only works on the "Limited" levels. I tried it tonight on my Prius Four and it worked. Great to use when your audio gets "confused" and you just want to clear it and start over.

But there is one odd thing: Whenever I stop the car, or it seems even pause the playback, it seems to restart so as to replay a few minutes I listened to on the last session.

View 3 RepliesI presently use a 16GB USB drive that has about 240 MB of 2 to 10 MB mp3 files and it works well. The reason I ask is that SirisXM is going to drop my favorite channel (69) and I was thinking of making some large files of audio capture before it goes away. Large because its easier to make and play a few than many. There might be a file size limitation (not USB storage limitation) due to the amount of memory in the audio system.
View 8 RepliesSometimes in the bright sunlight, I cannot see the audio display or the small AC display that shows which vents the air is coming out from. Is there any way to illuminate these displays? Will some LEDs around them work or make it worse? I'm driving a C two. I have no intention of upgrading to an aftermarket sound system; I just want a simple inexpensive way to see the info on the screen.

This happened a couple of weeks ago and then again. ALL the buttons on my steering wheel work, AC, Temperature, Defrost, Recirculation etc , except Audio. ( Dash audio functions work fine! )
The last time, restarting the car and the functions came back to life.
Is there some kind of official "reboot" process for the computers?
I noticed that when I active BT on my phone it connects to my cars phone BT automatically. But has a harder time when I try to connect to the portable audio player to stream music. I have to turn off the BT on my phone and turn it back on and then hit the "connect" button for the audio player and it works. Then I have to go back to the phone screen and hit connect again.
View 6 RepliesWhen I am listening to songs from iPhone there are buttons on my head unit (C2 radio NOT nav system) for play/pause, fwd, rewind BUT the rewind and fwd buttons only forward through the song it's playing (like you used to be able to do with cassette tapes) and it does NOT skip to the next song. How stupid is that? I have never seen a digital audio player that did this, the fwd/rewind always skip back a song or fwd a song BUT the prius head unit only skips through the song itself.

I would like the audio screen to remain on view so I can make changes between various presets. I know I can do this with the buttons on the steering wheel, but this may involve lots of button pushing. I also want to be able to flip between the presets and the text view (which shows me artist and song title.
