2012 gti, manual, 7k miles.
I've got this tinny buzzing noise coming From the engine bay that only happens between 2800 and 3k rpm. I hear it whenever I'm cruising on the highway and shifting through gears. Also if I have the windows down you can hear it outside the car.
OK started getting a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay on the drivers side. Cant locate it from outside the car, only when sitting in the car stationary with the engine on. Does not do it from cold, only once the engine is warm. ie drive for 30 minutes, park up, run some chores for say 20 minutes, get back in car and then drive off, when i then say stop at some lights, i hear this buzzing sound (sounds like a pump or motor). Normally goes away after about 10/15 minutes. This started happened after last vist to dealership when they replaced my electric harness and also fixed some o rings on the water pump. Wondering if it is related to the last visit or something new maybe on the air suspension or what.
View 9 RepliesI recently noticed some kind of a faint buzzing noise coming from the engine area. basically when the radio is off I can hear some kind of a buzzing noise under medium load, it sound like a loose heat shield or something. I took it to a dealer this morning, did a test drive with the tech who also heard the noise, got a call later on telling me that the noise is normal and is present on the other Tiguans as well.
View 4 RepliesMy 2010 Prius V just past the 24000km mark. I have a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay during startup. It happens when the interior fan is on. You can hear it clearly after you start the car, during the silence of the "boot up", before the ICE kicks in. I can't be sure if it continues to buzz after that because the sound of the ICE drowns it out. However, If I shut off the fan during the boot up, the buzz disappears. Finally, if I leave the fan off and start the car, there is no buzz.
During a recent oil change, a hybrid technician claims that this is normal. It used to happen infrequently but now it is consistent, so if it was normal, I should have heard it when the car was new.
A months or so ago, after turning off my car I noticed a loud buzzing noise coming from the drivers-side lower firewall area. I cranked the car up and the buzzing stopped immediately. The problem began as intermittent but now within 2 minutes of turning my car the buzzing noise always starts, and runs my battery dead! I have taken my car to 2 local shops that have good reputations and they both began guessing and throwing parts at the problem to no avail my last resort is a dealership but it is 100 miles away and I'm not sure if they would do any better. I feel like this is something simple that an expert should have no problem diagnosing.
I have been searching around the internet and never seem to find someone with the exact same problem - until today!

I have about 500 miles on my 2008 R32, and today I noticed while sitting in the car with it running that there was a noticeable buzzing coming from the fuel pump. It sounds like it is coming from the pump under the tank itself. Hear this coming through to the cabin? Rather loud, I wonder if this issue has already been reported with other 3.2 VR6 setups.
View 22 RepliesI just came back from a long weekend and left my 2010 GTI in the garage at home. When I returned the battery was 100% dead. Got a friend to jump it and it refused to start for about 30 minutes. Finally it grudgingly turned over and eventually started. So I drove it around for an hour, came home, turned it off and tried to start it - to see if it had charged at all. Again it turned over very slowly, and eventually started up. Seems very strange that it's so slow to charge.
So now I have it on a trickle charger and with the engine off I noticed a weird humming/buzzing sound. It seems to be coming from underneath, somewhere in front/near the right rear wheel. I waited 30 minutes to see if it would turn off once the car cooled. But it's still running. I've never heard that before and no wonder the battery died. What's going on? This is a mystery.
I bought my RX350 last month and sometimes I notice a strange buzzing sound coming from the car while the engine is off. This noise can come at anytime and usually hours after I have turned off my car. It's difficult to isolate where it's coming from and can last just a few minutes.
View 14 RepliesI keep my 2015 RX 350 in the garage, and last night I noticed a humming or buzzing noise coming from it. I switched the ignition to accessory position and turned it off and the noise stopped. A search here turned up many discussions noting is is the gas evaporation leakage check valve and it is a normal function of the vehicle. My question, is this some sort of pump that is running and causing battery drain?

At first I thought maybe the fan but no it's more of an electrical static buzzing.
View 14 RepliesI am having a strange issue with this vehicle that the dealership can't figure out but it doesn't surprise since here they are a bunch of idiots there anyways....well here it goes....when i start the vehicle there is a fairly loud "buzzing" noise coming from the drl module mounted on the front right side fender, the module feels like the relay inside is clicking extremely fast but not actually staying on, the drl's do not come on however the high beam indicator on the dash is illuminated. This will go away when i turn on the low beams, but i still have no high beams. There is a slight flicker within all the interior lights and headlights which leads me to believe there is a ground issue. I am unable to obtain any schematics for this part of the electrical system to be able to back probe and try to isolate the issue.... The vehicle seems to be fine as long as you turn the low beams on as soon as you start it other then the slight flicker in the lighting inside and out.....

View 3 RepliesOver the last several days I've noticed a faint whining noise coming from the engine when I pull into the garage. Sounds similar to the noise you hear when you keep an elevator door open for too long.
This is the first turbo engine that I've had so I'm not really familiar with the sounds it may or may not produce, and whether this is normal behavior.
I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey that is making an intermitent buzzing noise that appears to be coming from the dashboard. It sounds like an old speedometer going bad but this car should have a computerized speedometer. It appears to be weather related as it does not happen in the winter. When it happens, the buzzing is reduced if you slow down the car a bit. It can vary in intensity and can get very loud. I took the car to the dealer and they want to take the dashboard off....
View 6 RepliesI was warming my truck up this morning and I turned my wipers on to get the bit of snow on my windshield off. The wipers moved a few inches, stopped, and a mechanical buzzing noise is coming from under the wipers. I can move the wipers with my hand and they'll go all the way up and return to the bottom, but do the exact same thing when they move again. I searched the forum but can't find anything about the wiper problem I'm having. I also see a lot of discussion about GEM in relation to wipers...
View 13 RepliesJust got stage 2 tune with tbe and bhs pendulum mount. Loving it so far but there is a loud buzzing coming from the dash area every time I hit the gas. There is more vibration in the car now that will probably stir up some rattles but this one is pretty loud!! Doesn't sound like it is in the engine compartment but more like on or in the dash by the radio or climate controls.
View 5 RepliesI cant recall if these sounds were there when i first bought the car, probably because i have the radio on most times. I think the buzzing sounds were present in the last month at least.
After i start up my car and even after idling for a while, i hear a buzzing sound coming from the engine. It gets louder when I accelerate. When I let go of the gas, the buzzing sound lags for a few seconds and then quiets down a little bit, but still can hear it in the background.
I lifted the hood up to listen more closely. I am not totally sure, but i think i can also hear a faint hissing sound ( sounds like leaking air?). I cant pinpoint where it is, but its around the engine.
I also notice that when I am idle, the MPG number in the dashboard is dropping fairly quickly. Like 0.1 mpg every 20 seconds. This is new and started today. I last drove it 4 days ago and didn't notice it happening then and i watch the mpg very closely every time i drive. Could there possibly be some gas leak?
Recently purchased a 2002 sc430 . After an hour of driving I began to hear a buzzing or humming coming from the backseat on the passenger side . Sounds almost like a fan. Car drives just fine but the buzzing is driving me nuts.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Avalon Limited. A couple of weeks ago I put the car in reverse and I started hearing this loud buzzing noise coming from the rear window area. I narrow it down to the rear window sunshade. It also makes this noise when pressing the button to lower the shade and maybe sometimes rising it. I know it has something to do with the relay or motor when the signal is sent to it to lower it, because a lower the shade signal is sent when the car is put into reverse or button is pushed. How to find the motor or relay without taking the rear seat out. Right now I would rather just disconnect it to stop the annoying buzzing noise. Where can I find a service/maintence manual to maybe find out how to disconnect it.
View 14 RepliesI have an 01 Accent GL 1.6L. It will not turn over. Battery, terminals, and wires are all new. Alternator is also good. There is a buzzing noise coming from beside the cold air intake. I'm not sure what part that is. The part that is buzzing is where the cam position sensor is connected to. It also has wires that run into the firewall.
