Golf/GTI VI :: Coolant Leaking / Light Constantly Flashing

I was driving home from work on Tuesday and I saw a message flash across the MFD saying that I needed to check coolant and consult owner's manual. Also the coolant light was constantly flashing. I was quarter mile from my house so I just drove home, checking the temp to make sure it was ok. I got home and opened the hood to see no coolant in the reservoir, but there was some in the hose. I was like "ok cool I just bought this car 3 months ago but not a big deal." I also looked on the ground under my car quickly and there wasn't a leak. I happen to live about 500' from a VW dealership so called them up and they said bring it over.

When I got there the SA came out and took a look and said to give him 5 to fill it up and I'd be on my way. As I'm waiting in the lounge, I notice a puddle on the ground under my car. I told him about it and he confirmed coolant leak. But because I didn't buy the car from them, they wouldn't give me a loaner, so I had them fill it up and I took a ride to where I bought the car (30 mins away). Now I'm driving a new Jetta. I got the call from Balise yesterday (the dealership I bought it from) and they said my radiator core was defective internally, they overnighted a part and they started fixing it yesterday morning. Since it's such an involved job, only a master tech can do it and there might not be one there today (which I have to check on around noon) so I might not get it back until Tuesday. But I really can't complain (other than the fact that it's a brand new car), I have a car to drive and it's being fixed properly.

It probably was that damn lowerthanzimmy sticker. I realize defective parts are made, they can't catch all of them before they're installed.

Tiguan :: 2010 - Coolant Leaking Constantly

So I'm about 10 mins from home today when the coolant low/overheating dash light (the key light) came on and started flashing. I got off the next exit and pulled into a Wal-Mart and notice I had no coolant when I lifted the hood. There was a strong coolant smell so I looked under the car and it was pouring out.

I got some more put in to get me home. I was 5 mins away and by the time I got home it was completely empty again. I can't see the leak looking from the top of the engine. When I look up it's coming out on the passenger side at the back of the firewall.

I filled it back up and just pulled the car into the garage. 7 hours later and the coolant is still full so it only happens when I'm driving. There was no oil present in the coolant leak. I pulled the oil dipstick and it looks normal, no milky color.

I'm having it towed to the local VW dealership tomorrow morning but just wanted to see what everyone's opinion on the issue might be.

Only 33K miles on the Tiguan The engine never ran hot. The needle was right in the middle the entire time. No engine mods other than a Chip, Intake, and Catch Can. I've yet to hear about either of those three mods causing this issue.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Coolant Temp Light Came Flashing On - Oil Getting Into Coolant

Okay so recently I was driving my 2000 Jetta and the coolant temp light came flashing on, when I went to check the coolant I was surprised to discover that it was like a mud brown color, almost looks like peanut butter. From everything I have read this can be from a few things, either rust build up that is gunking everything up and oil getting into the coolant somehow. I'm pretty sure its rust build up but I was wondering what everyone thinks about this, I was also not using G12 coolant which I'm told now is the premier brand for VW's.

Golf/GTI VI :: Engine Coolant Light Flashing

The past two days when I went to warm up my car, when I got back in it to leave I noticed the engine coolant light flashing. I checked the book and it just says if its flashing to contact the dealer. I have already done so for my next maintenance anyway. It has been around 10 degrees out both times when i started it. 2012 GTI with 9300 miles. Also, if you turn the car off, and start it back up, it does not come back on..

1999 Passatt ... My ABS system is shot and the "ABS BRAKE!" lights flash constantly, as long as car is on. I have been told to not replace the ABS system as it's incredibly pricey. I was told by another owner that he had heard there was a way to have this blinking stop pretty easily.

Golf/GTI VI :: 2013 - Check Coolant Light Beeping - Leaking?

Had my car since the end of december 12, now after a drive to San Diego from Las Vegas I experienced a check coolant light beeping this morning. I didn't check the fluids the day of leaving but 3 days before and everything was all good. Checked the levels and it looked like there was barely any in the tank. After I picked up some coolant from the local dealer thinking maybe I just needed to put more in don't know why I didn't have them look at it then I should have. As I unscrewed the cap after letting it sit for a while I saw coolant surface in the tank.

I thought that was weird but I said oh well let me put a bit in since it looked like it was just duno if this will sound right storing more inside the engine? Let it run for a bout 20 mins and took off. from the dealership when I didn't get the warning anymore. went driving for some bit and got the same warning when I was heading back to my hotel. now I was tripping :|. I parked the car and let it sit in a spot with n spots of oil came out and found a decent sized puddle after letting it sit for some minutes. wiped a bit of it up with a paper and it seemed kind of dirty but reddish, and it seemed greasy like.

Security light constantly flashing whether running or not. Key fob doesn't work but battery is good (master key), car will start and drive fine though. The power locks don't work, top will not go down, gas door won't open with the button in the cabin (manual release from trunk is ok), trunk won't open unless I use manual release, the electric steering wheel works but not automatically and won't retract to the stored position, auto up/down on windows won't work, pass window control on driver door doesn't work but works on pass door, seat settings won't store, dome light doesn't come on when doors open and doesn't register them as open but puddle lights come on, fuses ok, power mirrors don't work, power seats and everything works individually. I think that covers everything.

I have a 2003 mountaineer v-6 awd drives pretty good but od light is always flashing even if ignition switch is open and truck not started..and check transmission on message display also..the only thing that i feel its really tight on turns as if it wants to lock up but once steering gets straight it runs fine... I just bought a chevy cavalier z24 2.4 liter engine. Yesterday my coolant light kept going on and off at different times so I added coolant to the overflow reservoir as shown in the car's manual. Today the coolant light is on constantly and it was smoking under the hood. I stopped and there was a big puddle of coolant was under the car. The car is not overheating. Did I put too much coolant in it or could it be a problem with the radiator?

Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Coolant Light Flashing On Top Of MFD

I have a question regarding my 06 Passat 2.0.

This morning I started up the car and immediately the car has a coolant light on in the top row of the MFD (thermometer in a few little waves, I assume coolant.)

Temperatures dropped below -10F last night and were about -4F when the car was started. My thought was a freeze plug, but no AF puddle when I parked the car and the AF level in the overflow tank was where it was the last time I checked. It's cold enough the car never reached the normal operating temp during 20 mins or so of city driving.

Am I correct in assuming this is a coolant level warning? I can't imagine I'd be getting a temperature warning when the block is 0F.

Tiguan :: Coolant Light Flashing In Cold Weather (-10˚C)

Today was the worst weather ever since the Tiguan left the factory, it was -10˚C and it was parked outside.

When I turned the car on, the coolant light was flashing with a beeping sound. The indicator was acting normally and it stopped in the middle as usual when I drove about 8KM.

I then stopped and turned the car OFF and then ON after a few minutes and it was gone.

I searched and many people said something about topping up the coolant fluid. To me, this doesn't make sense because it only happened to them and I when the weather was cold.

Is there anything to worry about? the car is still new with 12,xxxKM.

I have a 99 Chevy Lumina. The car periodically flashes the low coolant light. I check it and its fine. I don't know if its related to my recent problem. A couple of days ago, my car wouldn't start. All the lights and stuff come on, but there is no clicking or even trying to start. I kept trying. It wouldn't work. I left it alone to make some phone calls. I messed with it again after a little while and it started. It has been running until today. It started, I got my son to daycare. Then when I tried to start the car to leave, it did the same thing again. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and it started again.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2000 - Coolant Is Leaking

When my 2000 GTI VR6 sits for a week or two the coolant will run low. There are no leaks that I can find. No coolant in the oil. The crack pipe looks dry. Nothing from the thermostat hosing that I can see. The carpet by the heater core is dry. Nothing that I can see. The thing that is funny is I can drive the car with it 100 degrees outside in Georgia and have no problems with the coolant getting low, or any signs of a leak, smoke or smell. The head gasket and every gasket except the oil cooler and oil stand gasket were replaced about two years ago. The heater core was also replaced at the time. I gave the front pulled loose so I can pressure test the system and look more today.

so it started like a month ago my door light would occasionally come on for no reason now it's to the point where my door light is always on and it constantly dings, i know its the door lock module but is there any way to tell which door? it might be the trunk and also is there a way to temporarily fix it soi don't drive my car into a tree from being so annoyed.
