My service indicator is yelling Service Now
Car is at 18K miles and change, I had it serviced at all the factory intervals sticker on my windshield (from VW dealer) says next service at 20,345 so it looks like VW is on a 5K interval and my computer is looking for something else. Should I ignore the nagging until the proper service interval or take it to the dealer, then I can bug them about the laggy gearbox and other niggles ...

I have a 2006 XC90 AWD 2.5L Turbo 85K miles. Tonight my school teacher wife went out after school to start the car and the key will not turn past the first detente. Lights, radio, etc work but the key will not turn.
Only error message on the screen is "Alarm System Service Required" but that has been on and off for almost two years.
I called the dealer and they said to tow it in and they would have to tear the steering column apart as the steering lock is broken...?!?
Touareg :: Loud And Clear Noise From Inside The Vehicle On Startup
Started up the Touareg last night to come home from work and immediately heard a new noise. It is loud and clearly audible from inside the vehicle. I was able to isolate it to something inside the front driver's side fender, something above the wheel well. Sounds like a cross between a blender and a leaf blower (a device that I could certainly use at this time of the year.) Note - the noise goes away when turn off the climate control system (by lowering the fan speed all the way.)

I have a 2013 LS and am getting a maintenance reminder when I start the car. I was curious to see if there was a place to see what maintenance is due in the user interface. I have looked in Maintenance, but none of the dates are set. Does it just automatically trigger from some factory reset at 4500 miles or so for the oil changes?

Every few weeks or so my "service advance track" indicator will come on then after a few cranks of the engine, go off again. 2 Different dealers have serviced this issue over the last 4 months, sometimes replacing modules, sometimes not. I've been having an on going issue where my Pirus will start beeping but there is no indicator light I can see showing any kind of issue. It will start beeping during startup and after driving for a while, no exact time something like after 25~30 mins. It sounds like the seatbelt beep but louder and both will beep when my wife does not have hers on.
I replaced the Aux battery(was old needed to anyway) with a yellow top but that didn't fix it. And again there is no indicator on the dash or display showing issues no red or orange triangles. Checked the prius's diagnostics but no codes appear under the diagnosis check I or II, sycheck mode or LAN monitor.

I have an 05 GLI with many mods, far from stock. In the past i have tried to recode the ABS module with my vag com to ABS only because the traction control does not work when you make 300whp and im sick of pushing the button every time i get in the car. The module will not take the recode so i gave up. Then about a week ago the ABS light came on for no reason and i can not turn off the traction control with the esp button so i checked the code.
It said something about a system test (ill have to check it tomorrow to find out what the code was) i tried to clear it and it would come right back with no other codes. Then i took the car out and beat on it and the traction control still works (or trys to) and i hammered on the brakes and the ABS still works and the fluid is still full. Then i came to red light and i after i stopped i pushed the brake petal hard and the traction control light started flashing (im still stopped and not moving at all) It just kept flashing for over a minute even after i started driving. Then the tc light stayed on and the ABS light went off. As soon as i turned the car off and back on it was ABS light on and tc light off. Still only the same code stored. I tried recoding it to a car with ABS, ESP, and HD suspension and it took that coding. But still had the same code so i recoded it back to my oem one.

I had my a/c checked out as it would not come on nor would my fans come on when the interior a/c switch was pushed and yes the switch lit up.
The mechanic said i needed a new compressor and high pressure switch.
Do I have to have the system evacuated first or can i change out the switch with the system loaded??
