Golf/GTI VII :: 2015 - Fluctuating Temp Once Reaches 90?

Feb 6, 2015

So today I was driving to work and it was pretty cold out. It was about -22/-30 C with the wind. The drive is about 20 minutes in traffic. I to through drivethru and as I am leaving I notice that the temp dropped from about 90 to around 75/80. I then drive accross the street to work and the temp goes back up to 90. So I decided to sit there and let the car idle for a few minutes. Then the temp dropped again by about 10.

So I called the dealer and stopped by. All they did is take it for a test drive and do a scan to tell me everything is fine. By then the temp had warmed up outside and the issue was no longer present.

Having issues with fluctuating temp once your car reaches 90?

I know with my MK4 Golf 1.8T when I used to be in stop and go traffic the gauge would go down. So I replaced my thermostat and all was fine after that.

Do a modern car can a scan detect temp going below 90? Or could be a sticky thermostat?

It's a 2015 Golf 1.8 TSI

Explorer :: 2007 - Overheating As Temp Gauge Reaches To Max?

2.5 months ago I had a coolant flush in my 2007 explorer Eddie Bauer. The last 3 days last week the temp gauge went from the middle where it usually sits, to maxed out in the red. Stays there for about 45 secs and then drops back down.

Is it coincidence that I had a flush and maybe they didn't fill it all the way back up or is it somthing else ?

One other thing- even when it sits in the middle of the gauge I can sometimes hear the engine sucking in air like a vacuum so I guess at certain times its running hot but just doesn't raise the gauge just yet.

My F250 Will not start once the oil temp reaches about 117 degrees. Once oil temp drops it fires up. In the morning it only crranks for a couple of seconds. What could this be? I am getting over 1300 PSI HPOP while cranking. FICM Volts 48.5. Just no hot start. What do you think it is and how much at the repair shop. I have the Torque App, IPR values are good to I think.

Impala - Chevrolet :: Coolant Temp Fluctuating / Going From 200 Up To 240 Sometimes 260 Degrees

I have a 2002 Chevy Impala with the 3.4L engine. The car has 180K+ miles on the original engine. The coolant temperature started fluctuating recently. Going from 200 degrees up to 240 sometimes 260 degrees.

I recently had the check engine light on with the P0420 code which indicates a bad catalytic converter, I had that replaced and I was hoping that maybe the lack of exhaust flow through the converter was causing the overheating. It is still fluctuating however after the converter replacement.

The coolant temperature seems to go up when the car is idling but when moving it starts to go back down to normal. I had the cooling fan assembly replaced last year after one of the fans failed. These are less than a year old and are both operating as expected.

A little history on the engine. It originally had that crappy DexCool in it that then ate away at the cheap plastic head gasket causing oil to leak into the coolant system. This caused the coolant to turn into 'mud' within the radiator and eventually the head gasket failed completely and I had to have that replaced along with putting in ethylene glycol to replace the DexCool. Now when the coolant system was flushed, I am not completely sure that all that 'mud' was flushed out of the radiator. So the radiator may not be operating at full capacity. In fact, driving through the mountains this summer going up inclines, the car would tend to start overheating.

So thoughts on what might be the issue, radiator, thermostat, sensor, water pump, something else? I'm pretty sure it's not the sensor because sensors don't fail in this manner (they fail either high or low). I'm leaning toward the radiator because once I get some air flow across it, the coolant temp gets back to normal.

Also, the A/C is sometimes working great and blowing really cold and other times it is just slightly cold.

Suzuki - Esteem :: Engine Stalls Out After 3 Seconds At Idle When Car Reaches Operating Temp

I have a Suzuki Esteem on which I have recently had following work done from a suzuki dealer on their recommendation.

1) Throttle body repair and Cleaning.
2) Idle air control valve cleaning.
3) New fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs.
4) Engine tuning.
5) New battery.
6) New power steering belt.

PROBLEM: (Only when AC is OFF)

When my car reaches operating temperature the engine stalls out after three seconds at idle.

Suzuki dealer does not seem to know the reason behind this and they want to keep it for a few more days however i think they will just keep replacing parts one after another.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2012 GLS - Temp Gauge Fluctuating And Overflow Was Really Low

My son recently bought a 2012 GLS. The temp gauge was fluctuating and I noticed the overflow was really low. I added coolant and warmed the car up with no change. After it cooled a little, I cracked the radiator cap and heard bubbling air. Upon complete removal of the cap, I saw no fluid, however, the cap is above the radiator where the hoses connect. I added coolant directly to this opening until I could see it. Closed everything up and warmed up the car. Temp gauge is now steady 1 mark below half way. The question is, did I add enough coolant? and should I see coolant inside the radiator cap when the vehicle is cold?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Powerless And Rough Idle Until Reaches To Running Temp

I have a 05 6.0l. Egr deleted. And my truck has a rough idle and power loss. Ive tested the ipr and the icp and they are reading at specs. I've also replaced the Hpop about 1500 miles ago. It has a real rough idle until it's at running temp. And it has power loss, I'll be driving down road and theres no where near has much power has there should be. And the idle will jump between 1500 rpm and 2000rpm.

Lexus RC F 2015+ :: Idle Seems To Always Be Uneven / Fluctuating A Couple Hundred RPMs

I've been noticing that my 15 RCF idles a bit weird. Regardless if AC is on or not, the idle seems to always be fluctuating a couple hundred rpms - almost barely noticeable. Usually 500-700rpm back and forth. Doesn't really bother me but I wonder if it's just my car or if all the RCF has the same issue and if it was a sign of a bigger issue.

Doesn't matter which mode I'm in either. Of course it's only noticeable when there is the actual needle stick on the RPM gauge (eco mode and the gauge with the yellow doesn't show well).

Lexus IS 2014+ :: 2015 IS350 Clumsy Idle - Fluctuating RPMs

I sometimes have a weird idle. When my car is cold the idle is fine. When the car is warm the idle is fine. The idle only gets weird sometimes when I drive the car, park it for an hour or so, start the car again (temp gauge is about half way from complete cold start to complete warmed up) and I get a fluctuating rpm tach. It bounces around 50-75 rpms for a while. You can definitely feel it in the car and if you stand behind the exhaust you can here it slightly burp/hiccup. The car has 16k miles on it and it's a 2015. The gas mileage and performance has not changed. I don't know if it has done this since day one as I usually have my radio on. I heard it once now I make a point to see if it does it. I also don't have any CEL on.

Golf IV R32 :: Temp Rise In MVB Still Fan Kick On And Temp Drops

Ok, so I'm getting the typical P2181 Cooling system performance. So i replaced my t-stat and ect sensor but no change. When i'm looking at my mvb's in 01 and 17 they're reading the same. I check my hose temp and both upper and lower are similar in heat. I can watch the temp rise in the mvb's till the fans kick on and the temp will drop.

Now, at start up it'll literally take about 9-12 min to warm up in this 20 degree weather. I was driving home tonight and got off I-5 and at the light with the heat on I watched the temp gauge drop from operating temp to almost the notch above cold, and I could feel the heat cool down coming out of the vents.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2015 - Code P0073 For Ambient Air Temp Sensor Circuit High

I'm excited to be a Powerstroke owner again! I had a 2000 with the 7.3L and since bought and now sold a Chevy 1500. Last week I bought a new 2015 6.7L. I am MORE than impressed and love the truck. Today I brought it to get the windows tinted. I have not had one issue with the truck since I have had it. When they finished with the windows, my check engine light was on. The shop I had it done it EXTREMELY reputable. They brought out their snap on scanner and pulled the code. p0073 for the ambient air temp sensor circuit high. Is this a coincidence that this came on after they got done, or could something they did while tinting the windows tripped this?

As I drove off down the road after determining I wasn't going to hurt the truck, the air temp sensor went from showing -40 to the actual temperature. What would cause this? I deleted the code when I got home with my actron, and the MIL has stayed off since, however, it shows P0073 Permanent ...

Lexus RX 2004-09 :: RX330 - High Pitched Hum Once The Car Reaches 30 Mph

My 2005 RX330 has run fine for all 45000 miles to date. One exception is that there is a high pitched hum that becomes noticeable once the car reaches 30 mph and continues to increase pitch until about 45mph. The hum seems to disappear when going faster than 45. If you cruise on a quiet street at 30mph the hum will stay steady if you maintain speed. The hum will increase if you accelerate.

But... if you take your foot off the gas pedal the hum instantly stops. Put your foot back on the pedal and it instantly starts. You can almost "play a song" by taking your foot off and on the pedal. Lexus service clearly heard the sound during a test drive, but could not figure it out.

Camry :: Vibration On Passenger Side When Car Reaches A Certain Speed (around 30-40 Mph)

I have a 2002 Camry (4 cylinders). About two weeks ago, I started to notice vibration on the passenger side of the car, front side, when the car reaches a certain speed (around 30-40 mph). At first I thought it was a wheel inbalance, so I took it to the Toyota Dealership and have them re-balance the wheels.

The problem, however, did not go away. I remember a while back after I got an oil change, the maintenance guy at the dealership mentioned that the motor mounts were going bad. Is it possible that bad/worn motor mount can cause vibration at certain speeds? The problem only occurs on the passenger side.

I do not notice vibration at idle (I think). I will have to drive the car again to double check this. But vibration is much more apparent when the car hits 30 mph+.
