Just curious how large of an SD card the MK 7 audio system can recognize, as I believe there were limitation in previous generations. I was hoping to get a 128GB card and throw all my tunes on there instead of using an ipod or my phone.

View 3 RepliesI presently use a 16GB USB drive that has about 240 MB of 2 to 10 MB mp3 files and it works well. The reason I ask is that SirisXM is going to drop my favorite channel (69) and I was thinking of making some large files of audio capture before it goes away. Large because its easier to make and play a few than many. There might be a file size limitation (not USB storage limitation) due to the amount of memory in the audio system.
View 8 Replies2015 Golf TDI s model. When I try to use a SD card absolutely nothing happens. No errors, no reading, like I have put nothing in the SD card spot directly below the CD player in the glove box. On all the radio menus the SD card is dimmed as if nothing is in there. I have tried 4 different brands and sizes of SD cards, different formatting options, different files, still nothing. The iphone cable works fine, so does bluetooth and the CD player. No error codes either with VCDS. I have tried complete resets of everything but no luck.
View 9 RepliesI've been trying to get my music from iTunes to an SD card so I have some traveling music for the long drive home. All the files transferred to the card and I can play them on my MacBook pro, but when I put the SD card into my '10 TDI Sportwagon (which has an SD card slot) the radio says the card contains no data. I tried both a 32gb and a 8gb card. For both cards, the radio says the card contains no data.
View 8 RepliesEver since I've been using my SD card to play music, I have been getting an intermittent error that reads something like "Error reading SD Card" (I can't recall the exact wording). It seems to happen randomly, and sometimes I have to take out / reinsert the SD card a bunch of times before it reads it again...starts playing music for awhile...then gives me the error again.
It was mildly irritating at first, but now it seems to be happening more frequently and is downright maddening. Here are the details:
I have a 2011 GTI with the Premium stereo HU (what is that...the RDS-510?)
I am using a 16gb SDHC class 2 card
The error happens mid-song...not at the beginning or end of a song (so I don't think it's a particular file/s that is screwing things up)
I Learned on a Toyota Avalon web page that you can force your audio system to reboot itself by pressing the power button for three seconds. On the Avalon, it only works on the "Limited" levels. I tried it tonight on my Prius Four and it worked. Great to use when your audio gets "confused" and you just want to clear it and start over.
View 1 RepliesI've been using MP3 CDs in autos for some years. Now I have a 2014 Prius 4 with whatever audio system is standard in that model. Generally all is good. But there is one odd thing: Whenever I stop the car, or it seems even pause the playback, it seems to restart so as to replay a few minutes I listened to on the last session.
View 1 Replies2013 F-250. Sync. No navigation. I am able to pair my Android cell phone to the truck and all works fine. Can send and receive calls using the voice commands etc. I am also able to play music from my bluetooth enabled LG V10 android cell phone. When I start the truck, it automatically detects my cell phone, connects to it and begins playing music from my cell phone through the truck stereo. And therein lies the problem.
My question is, is there a way to tell the truck to go ahead and connect to the cell phone, but don't start playing music. In other words, I don't want the truck to launch the music player on my cell phone. I always have to either turn off the player on my cell phone or give the "pause" command through bluetooth audio.
Is it normal for a clicking and ticking noise to constantly originate from the JBL audio navigation system? I've noticed this noise while the vehicle is in electric mode at a full stop. The noise is also present while driving.
I checked the 4 disc cd changer and they are empty. I usually use the blue tooth system to play the music.

On my '06 XL F350 I want to know if and how I can hook up an auxiliary input. It has the AUX button ,but it doesn't have any aux audio port in the dash anywhere like some of the nicer F-series have. When I push the AUX button, the screen reads "NO AUX AUDIO". Is there an adapter I can buy to plug in the back so I can actually have and auxiliary input?
View 3 RepliesI use my iphone via bluetooth to play my music and podcasts. If it's wireless I have no control over the folders through the audio controls. I have to manually go through the folders on my phone to cue up what I want to play. Which seems counter productive. I can skip forward to the next song and pause/play but that's it. If I have it plugged into the USB I can control the folders when I am in ipod mode. But it wont let me play it. I then have to switch to BTA to play it. Then back to ipod if I want a different folder or playlist.
View 8 RepliesJust got my new 2012 GTI with touchscreen radio, I think it's the RCD-510. I've noticed with my iPod plugged into the MDI, all of a sudden, i can't actually browse by artist or album. I was able to browse by artist a few days ago when I first got it (I know this because I was putting on some beastie boys in honor of MCD passing), but as of yesterday when I try to browse by artist or album, instead of getting the list of artists or albums to select, the radio just goes back to the screen that shows whatever song is currently playing.
For some reason, I'm able to browse by playlist and song, but to by artist or album. I've tried unplugging the iPod (it's an iPod touch) to no avail.
I am looking for a screen protector for the nav system on my 2011 F250.

View 6 RepliesSo i have this whistle/wine through my system when running the Sirius thingy. It seems to correlate with rpm... Higher the rpm... higher pitched the whine/whistle...
The pitch of the whistle almost matches my turbo whistle. The Sirius is powered through the cigar lighter port. Aux audio 3.5mm cord from Sirius to the stereo head.
I have checked egr, hoses to airpump (decided to order new ones), exhaust manifold`s bolts, vacuum hoses etc. I even ducktaped to be clear those hoses. Still waiting for brand new hoses.
I will get this fault:
17497 - Mixture Regulation; Bank 2; Range 1
P1089 - 001 - Lean Limit Exceeded

Seems to be second air injection. The engine is almost new 7000 km mileage after rebuilt. BFH engine code Euro model. First 5000 km i didnt saw the foult then every 500km and now its coming every 20km.

Car is running ok on idle 780 to 800rpms. Is it possible to mix up these # 24 and 25 connectors? How i can check those?
Our red line is at 6k rpm, but I accidentally revved it to about 6500 in second gear today, and nothing kicked in to stop me. I'm surprised that this car doesn't have a rev limiter at red line. Looking for about rev limits on these engines (2.5)?
View 7 RepliesToday I had a wonderful experience at the morning session of the Auto X school at Waterfest 19. It was my first autocross experience and, man, it was a blast. I couldn't believe the car I've been daily driving for three years has so much untapped potential!
Anyway, I had a bit of a technical issue that was holding me back. I got my first two runs in with the instructor on board; I was slow but had no issue. Then, the instructor took the wheel to show me how it was done and ended up spinning the car out on a section of the course with back to back 90's turns, turn #2 having a reducing radius. It felt as if the brakes just locked up and the back end just came all the way around. Once I got back in and had more of a grasp of the car's ability, I experience the same issue and had a few spin outs of my own, in glorious clouds of white smoke.
The feeling is like the car locks the brakes, the brake pedal travels further to the floor, and the throttle is disabled until the car settles again. It even happened once or twice without pressing the brake at all; just engine braking and hard turning in, the brakes locked with no interaction with the brake pedal.
I've been able to duplicate the experience by "panic braking" in the straight line. When the car begins to skid, letting off the pedal will not disengage the brakes and the throttle will be deactivated until the car settles.
What would cause this? ESP was off, but do our cars have a yaw sensor or some system that will still apply the brakes when the car is at its limit? I searched but didn't find much. The car is on stock suspension.
Car shut off while driving to work. ASR and EPC light lit up. Pulled over to the shoulder, car had a really rough idle. Cut the car off and started it back up. Now the pep in my car is gone and it seems like I'm driving with reduced power.
