Ok today I was driving my 2004 Gli n noticed when I flash my high beams (pull them back for temporary lights) my interior lights come on. When I release the high beams the lights go back off. I know this isn't normal n wanna fix it.
View 8 RepliesFor my 2013 with HID lights, I'm adding a light bar, and trying to find a good wire to tap into so I can wire in a relay to turn the light bar on with my high beams. As it's going to a relay, I originally thought to use a fuse tap, but the high beam fuse is always powered. Any other wire I can use in the cab?
I'm also looking for an in cab wire for the reverse lights I'm adding. I've been trying to make sense of the wiring diagrams online, but I am not having any success.
After spending weeks ordering parts and doing research on this issue all my attempts have not solved the issue. To reiterate the issue, the high beams work, and the low beams do not. Thus far I have attempted the following without the desired result-
1. Changed the headlights out just in case both bulbs burnt at once.
2. Changed the blinker stalk in hopes of a faulty switch.
3. Changed the headlight switch to a brand new OEM Euro style switch.
4. Checked all fuses (did this first actually).
Didn't find anything on this, but I've noticed that on my GTI the Fog Lights stay on when the High Beams are turned on. Which I find unusual since no other car I've ever owned did this (Including my '12 TDI), and as far as I understood, in the US (At least here in NY), it was actually illegal to have them both on at the same time. ?
View 12 RepliesSo I bought an 01 GTI last week with a decent amount of things pre-modified including a Jetta front end swap? Anyway the guy I bought it from knew absolutely nothing about what had been done to the car other than the fact that there was an HID kit installed and it was set up to run high beams only.
I figured I'd remove the HID's until i drop some cash on a pair of nice projector housings. I removed them and plugged up some nice sylvania bulbs as per the OEM standard 9007, and figured I'd have no issues... They are still stuck on high beam only... What could be causing this?
What steps are needed to modify a 2005 RX 330's fog lights to stay on with the high beams? I found the info on the web & did this modification to my 2010 Tundra but can not find any info pertaining to how to mod an RX.

View 9 RepliesI have a 02 golf and it runs great other then the reoccurring problem i have been experiencing. The problem doesn't happen every time i drive my car, but often. When i drive for a short period of time and i park and go to turn the car off, all the lights on the dash flash on and off, and most of my things restart. Some times i will stop at a stop light or sign and the car will just restart and turn off. I know this maybe something very small.
View 1 RepliesI pulled the TFL pin from the back of the harness plug that goes to the headlight switch (Euro one at that) but not only did it kill the all the dash, console, switch light, but the DRLs stayed. Pin was the 3rd one from the left on the top row if you look at the harness plug as it sits in the car. Thicker gauge red wire.
This is a 2003 Wolfsburg Jetta.
2004 jetta, interior lights & door open light on dashboard intermittently come on and off while driving.
View 6 RepliesIf I have the switch set for the lights to turn on when I open the doors, they don't turn off when the doors are shut they just stay on all of the time. Also, sometimes they don't work at all and sometimes they do. My 12v outlet doesn't work either but I am guessing it's the fuse..
View 2 Replies2001 golf interior lights don't come on if any door opens, car doesn't recognize any of the doors to be open on the dash. I read it could be bad door lock modules, but does that happen to all 4 or could it be an electrical issue?
View 4 RepliesWhen I open the driver's door, the car does not register that the door is open: the dome light and other interior lights don't come on, the red alert light inside the door itself doesn't come on, and sometimes my alarm will go off when I start the car because it does not know that the door has been activated properly. When the passenger door is open, all the lights function properly. I'm thinking this is a fuse? Hopefully a simple fix?
View 12 RepliesSo I know these posts a a dime a dozen but unlike most i know what did to cause the lights to go out.
I unplugged the dimmer switch harness and headlight switch harness to clean the air vents. When i plugged everything back in, none of the red or blue backlighting turns on when i turn the headlight switch. The instrument cluster and all the trim remains dark.
At first my turn signals were not working but they have begun working again. headlights and break lights all work. and my interior dome lights work.
I checked every fuse i could think of that would relate to the interior lighting and everything looks fine there. is there something else i can check?
So I have an 03 wolfsburg, when my car is on and I open either the front driver or front passenger door the lights on the interior don't come on. Is this normal? I could have sworn they did before and on my 01 1.8t GLS, but if I open the any of the rear doors the lights come on...
I just got an LED interior kit, but haven't got it in the mail yet, so it is still on the stock bulbs from the factory, is it a dual filament bulb that just needs replacing?
2008 Camry Hybrid. Normal lights are dim. Auto on position results in no lights. A turn brings the lights on, but appears to be a "parking" position. High beams OK
The dealership has no clue - they wanted to sell new bulbs. They are barely bright enough to drive at night, certainly not 10% dimmer from age as they described.. (plus the auto on does not work ).
I've ran into an issue with my high beams on my 07 Camry SE. All lights are working except high beams. When you switch to high beams the lows only stay on. The dash light comes on and shows high beam indicator, but no brights! Fuses look good, and so do both bulbs. Going to go buy a bulb later today just to try. Like I noted they both just suddenly stopped. I'm leaning towards dimmer switch on column now.
View 11 RepliesYesterday, I went through my car doing a complete LED conversion. I got everything done. And then I replaced my high beams with Silverstar Ultras. I didn't touch my fog lights or my low beams (these will come next.) And then I went and got some wings with the boys, showing off my new LEDs and my bright high beams. We noticed that my fog lights turn off when my high beams were activated. A cool point I never knew about, but, it is extremely relevant in this story.
This morning I went to work, and noticed that my fog lights were not working. So after work, I came home and tried everything to get them working, check fuse in car, and tried every combination of light to activate them. Then I checked the fuse box under the hood, I hadn't actually ever looked in there before. When I did, I noted that the 10amp fuse, Fog R/R was missing... MISSING. I took the spare from the cover and put it in, and bam, fog lights work again.
Like on most Chevrolet's or other cars, when you unlock your car with the remote, your headlights come on for awhile. I've tried to 'unlock' this feature with a scanner but the only option I was able to change was the auto lock door function. Is there any way to activate this feature (if possible)? If its not possible with a scanner. I have a '09 Santa Fe Limited, w/ Auto Lights w/o DRL.

View 40 RepliesI recently noticed that the high beams on my car are actually pretty dim (38k miles with them.) I've looked online and it seems fairly easy to change out the bulb but I wanted to know if there any specific bulb brand recommended and also I wanted to know how to add fog lights since I live in a part of the country where it snow alot and its foggy in the summer.
