Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Temp Gauge Drop - Car Rolling Back Like It Is Going To Stall

Mar 31, 2016

I have a 2.0 auto city golf. The wife claims when she's sitting at a light the temp gauge drops to nothing, it sounds like it stalled and starts to roll back and then comes back to life when she pumps the gas. Every time I drive it it's fine.

Golf V R32 :: Fuel Gauge Drop Down To E And Then Few Moments Later Back Up

So this morning I was in rush hour traffic, stopped at a traffic light when all of a sudden, I get the bong that signals "refuel" I have just under 1/2 tank, though. Glanced down at the fuel gauge to see it drop down to E and then a few moments later back up to just under 1/2. All the will car was running and seemed fine otherwise. The refuel sign stayed on though ...... even when switched off (while MFD was still on) Restarted the car and refuel message was no longer displayed. What could this be? fuel pump on the way out?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Fuel Gauge Display Normal And Occasionally Just Drop Straight To Empty

Got a Vr6 a couple weeks ago and recently the gauge has been acting strange. Few days ago the gauge went from normal to showing completely empty and did that for a couple days (gauge would just display normal and occasionally just drop straight to empty and sit there until restart) but yesterday it started just sitting on full. Even when restarted just goes to full. I assume its the sender unit ....

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2005 - Engine Temp And Fuel Gauge Both Not Working

I have a 2005 mk4 gli and the other morning I went out to start my car for work and all I got was crank no start. I then realized my fuel pump wasn't priming when I opened the driver door. After work I came back and checked the fuel pump fuse and swapped the relay with another I had, still nothing. A buddy of mine came to me and decided to check the connector at the fuel pump for power, using a power probe I believe he hit all or the majority of the wires with 12v of negative and/or positive power. He then unplugged the connector and plugged it back in and the car fired right up. But I noticed that my fuel gauge, engine temp gauge, and outside air temp readout were all not functioning.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Overheating At Idle - Temp Gauge Starts To Climb To 3/4 Instead Of Halfway

I got a mk4 where the temp gauge starts to climb to 3/4 instead of halfway when I'm idling for a while.

1. fans don't come on
2. if I turn on ac, fan come on and temp stays at 1/2

I tested low and high speed on fans. both operational. Is it the fan control module, temp sensor green top, or radiator s/w?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Overheating / Temp Gauge Starting Raising Pretty Quickly When Driving

I have a 2002 Volkswagen Golf 2.0, I was driving and the temperature gauge starting raising pretty quickly. I stopped, checked the coolant and oil, both were at normal levels. The car cooled down pretty quickly, and I drove a little and it raised again. The heat is coming out cold despite the hot temperature. Overheating, normal coolant levels, no heat.

Phaeton :: Temp Gauge Going Hot Then Back To Normal

So my understanding is the water temp gauge at 200 degrees is pretty much spot on. The last three days I notice the temp gauge go to 200 then up to 240 which is like just one line away from the red zone. I turned on my heat full blast and was on the tollway and the temps went back to 200. The moment I got back into stop and go traffic the temp goes up again 220-240 range. Again, one line away from the red zone. No other alarms or dash messages come up. No smell of anti-freeze.

As well, the oil temp which was always at 200 has done the same thing. Running over 200 in the 220 plus range. Could this just be low anti-freeze? If so, would I not get a dash warning light?

Golf/GTI VII :: Moisture On Inside Of Windows After Rolling Them Back Up

I have had my '16 4 dr S for about a month now, and have had only one issue, well two if you count the fact that my LG G4 will not connect to AndroidAuto. Even when it is dry out and hasn't rained for days, both sides of my windows will be wet after rolling them down and back up. It is almost like the rubber seals act like sponges and coat the windows with water as the window passes through. It is not enough moisture to drip down the windows or cause a musty smell or anything, but it is aggravating.

Chrysler - 300m :: Gauge Will Randomly Drop Down To Empty / Low Fuel Light Turn On Then Go Back To Correct Reading

MY 2000 300M has a problem with the fuel gauge. When over 1/2 a tank and just under the full mark the gauge will randomly drop down to empty and turn on the low fuel light then go back to the correct reading and will do this over and over again. my mechanic has looked at the car believes it's the sending unit. Just wanted a second opinion before I spent the money for a fuel pump module for the car.

Ford - Explorer :: 1998 - Temp Gauge Shooting To High In Just Seconds Then Drops Back To Normal

For reasons I can't figure, the Temp gauge on the wife's Explorer is shooting from normal to high in just seconds. Then, it drops back to normal. When I looked at it this afternoon, I noted 2 things.

1) There was no sign of a coolant leak or overheating.

2) There wasn't ANY coolant in the tank!!!!!!!

The truck has evidently been running fine while this is going on.

Accent MC (2006-11) :: Stall Out While Idling Or Even Rolling In Neutral

I have a 2010 Accent GS, 5 speed. While sitting at a red light, or even rolling in neutral, the car will just die out. 90% of the time, the car will start right back up, no problem. A few times, though, it would not start right back up.. I put my flashers on, and just keep trying. It eventually starts up again, as people honk and get angry at me, but once a nice guy pulled over and offered to give me a jump and it started right up. I drove right to an autoparts store and had them test my battery, starter and alternator. All came back perfectly fine. There is no check engine light coming on when this happens. There is no code produced. A knowledgeable friend recommended i just change the battery since my car is 6yrs old, 104k miles. He said he had a similar experience and just changing out the battery solved everything. Well, i just did that and it stalled again. That obviously was not the problem.

Jetta - Volkswagen :: 1996 / 2.0 - Temp Gauge Falls Below 150 And Heater Gets Cold

My Jetta runs great in the summer and all seasons around town... the temp stays around 195 or so, the heater works ok, etc. When I get on the interstate however (now that the temp has dropped) , the story changes. The temp gauge falls below 150 and the heater gets cold. I assumed the thermostat was stuck open, so I replaced it but it didn't solve the problem. I called a local dealer and on his recommendation, I replaced the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor. That also didn't solve the problem. I have had cars overheat in the past, but never one that overcooled! Wy my car cools too well at highway spheeds? It affects my gas mileage and makes for an uncomfortable ride on cold days!

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Rolling Start / Limp Mode / Dim Dash Lights And About 300 - 400 RPM

I have a Mk4 1.8t , I left a light on and near killed the battery one night , was parked on a hill so I let it roll start.( I know this is where I went wrong so lets get past it....) It started in what sounds like some type of limp mode, dim dash lights and about 300-400rpm. cruised at about 10mph for say a 1/4 mile before the engine returned to normal rpm and lights returned to proper brightness.. now the car has a problem I cant seem to put my finger on. When it gets to about 3000rpms it bucks and begins to throw multi misfire codes making it hard to even get to 30mph.

It reminds me of how it felt when all the coils started failing but I know it cant be that because its all new , (plugs ,coils,) I have also replaced a few other easy parts such as the n75 and the diversion valve next to it, as well as the fuel pump and filter. One thing I noticed when I leave my n75 unplugged (wide open) it seems to run better making it easier to drive but if I go anywhere past 1/4 throttle it bucks and struggles. I've used the Autel to scan it for other codes but the only thing I get is random multi mis codes and mis codes for each individual cylinder.

Honda - Accord :: 1983 - When Rolling To Or At Stop RPMs Drop And Stalls

I have a 1983 Honda Accord (manual with nearly 200,000 miles) when rolling to a stop or at a stop rpms drop below 1000 and it stalls out. I can start it back up without hesitation. No hesitation at initial startup or after sitting short or long time, it idles while in park rpms about 1000.When I feel the engine about to stall while rolling to a stop or at stop, if I put my left foot on the brake pedal, slightly step on the gas pedal with my right foot it prevents the engine from stalling. At stop if I put in park, rpms raise and don’t need to give it gas.

I'm unable [& unqualified] to work on my car. Given I drive only about 1,000 mi year; my alternate form of transportation is a bus or kindness of friends, I’m on a limited income, cannot afford to buy/ spend more than 2,000 -- my question if 2-foId, 1. is it possible that something it is nothing major and worth repairing/replacing (ex. air control/idle air bypass valve, a dirty throttle body or even carburetor)?2. Or, as discussed with one mechanic, since the car is 33 years old, during or soon after repair other problems (dried out vacuum hoses or major) will follow. Plus, parts can be difficult if not impossible to replace as a I spoke to mechanic pointed out.Given the car’s age is it worth repairing?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Car Will Start And Run For About 10 Seconds Then Stall

The car will start and run for about 10 seconds and stall. The engine has been completely rebuilt 20k miles ago. The timing is perfect and the car makes 190psi on every cylinder

I should point out that it is NOT the immobilizer. it has been checked over and over and verified to not be the immobilizer. Here is everything that has been done.

- New fuel pump
- fuel filter
- fuel pump relay
- fuel pressure regulator
- fuel injectors
- fuel pressure has been verified
- spark plugs
- ignition coils
- crankshaft position sensor
- cam position sensor
- MAF sensor
- throttle body
- CU has been tried in another Jetta. worked fine
- gauge cluster worked fine in other Jetta as well.
- brand new battery
- alternator checked and passed
- grounds checked, all fine

The car has been scanned with VCDS. Here are the results:

6 Faults Found:

01330 - Central Control Module for Central Convenience (J393)
53-10 - Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent

00955 - Key 1
09-10 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed - Intermittent

01331 - Door Control Module; Driver Side (J386)
53-10 - Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent

01332 - Door Control Module; Passenger Side (J387)
53-10 - Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent

01333 - Door Control Module; Rear Left (J388)
53-10 - Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent

01334 - Door Control Module; Rear Right (J389)
53-10 - Supply Voltage Too Low - Intermittent

Here is a video of what the car is doing.

I am able to rev the engine but it dies quickly afterwards. vacuum pressure looks completely fine on the boost gauge.

My roommate has a 1.8t jetta as well so I have access to his car for trying things with.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Car Tries To Stall On Humid Mornings?

So I have been trying to get all the issues fixed on this car, and I think I'm getting close. I just gave the car a tune up, minus a new coil pack. (2.0 engine) I've fixed the broken hose on the secondary air pump and all my error codes appear to be gone. However, when I start my car on humid mornings, the car struggles to stay running. Once the car is up to a certain temperature, the car has no problems. But while it is cool and struggling to run, the check engine light will come on and flash. I heard that it could be from a crack in the coil pack that allows moisture to come in. Does that sound right? I would hate to put a new coil pack if I don't need it yet.
