Mk IV Jetta. Central locking works fine. All other CCM functions are fine. Replaced CCM recently serial numbers match. When I hit the switch on the door nothing at all happens. When I use the key button the lights flash twice but no other activity. No broken wires between the body and the trunk lid. Actuator works when tested with a 9v battery.
View 20 RepliesMy trunk doesn't seem to open electrically any more - that is, the button on the driver's side nor the button on the key fob will open the trunk. All I hear when I attempt either of these methods is a click near the fuse box. I do not hear the actuator at all. It worked intermittently for a few months, but now it seems to be completely dead. My google searches led me down two paths - either the actuator itself is broken or the wiring going from the latch to the actuator is messed up.
I removed the actuator from the trunk and tested it using a different power supply. It seems to work fine when I apply 12v through the leads. I also connected my multimeter to the connector that plugs into the actuator (the connector is hooked up to the wires coming from the front of the car). When I push the trunk button on my key, it spikes to 11v, then drops back to 0. To me, this indicates that there is no flaw in the wiring.
I even re-soldered the wires where it tends to kink on the drivers side in the trunk (It looks like they have been previously DIYed so I thought something may have come loose there), but that doesn't seem to have worked. As far as I can tell, the wires seem to be working fine by testing through the multimeter, and the actuator seems to be fine by testing from an alternate supply.
So the switch for my fuel door has not been working for a while. I can still manually open it by reaching through the liner in the truck, but it has started to get on my nerves recently. I tried changing out the switch and that didn't seem to work, it was a switch from the junk yard but I tried 2 different ones and neither worked. It might be the fuel door actuator?
2003 Jetta GLS 1.8T ....
I'm unable to open my trunk door with the remote, using the key, or with the switch on the drivers side door. I am also pretty sure it is not frozen shut. Will I need to switch out the complete latch assembly or just need to wd-40 something? This is for a 2000 Passat 1.8T Sedan.

View 2 RepliesMy Phaeton has been in the shop for about a week because the trunk will not open with the switch on the door. The key will open it, but no the door switch. They said it was hard to fix because there is no wire running from the switch to the trunk. Is it just another one of the many "secrets" of the Phaeton.
View 15 RepliesJust picked up a 2005 and the hatch glass will not open. Tried everything that I have read on here and on ClubTouareg. It has to be the fuse or something. Pressing the button on the remote does nothing and neither does the switch on the driver's side door.

View 13 RepliesMy latch wont open at all! When i first bought the car the trunk would open but Im not sure what had happened to it. The key doesn't work at all but every time I press the button on my key too open it or from the button on the floor it makes the noise that it unlocked but its still shut??!!?! Maybe I thought it was the fuse but I had changed fuse 15 still nothing any body experienced this before seems too be a common problem. Should I just go through the front and take the panels off for the hatch and diagnose whats wrong with it?
View 1 RepliesI have myself a hatch stuck shut on my wagon. Wont open with the button and the key doesn't turn. The key fob was actually broken when I bought the car leading me to believe it happened while he tried to unlock the stuck hatch.
View 3 RepliesAbout 4 months ago I was at the gas station and when I tried opening my fuel door, the switch wasn't working. I went home, took the door trim off, and then removed the switch in order to clean it. Once I cleaned it, it worked but about every 3rd time that I clicked it. However, yesterday it finally gave out as I was at the gas station. So I came home and now I'm stuck because I don't want to break the fuel door.
I ran through the fuses in the fuse box but on the diagram none seem to be for the fuel door. The weird thing is that yesterday as the fuel door switch gave out, so did the interior door lock switch. Now I have to insert the key from the outside in order to enter the car. But the key cannot unlock the passenger door.
When I hit the interior door lock switch, I hear a click noise under the dash. I took a look under there and it seems to be a bunch of relays. It's very tough to tell which one is the one clicking.
I have a 2008 Passat Komfort. About 2 weeks ago I went to open the trunk and nothing happened. Tried using the button next to the gas door open and still nothing, remote doesn't work, button doesn't work neither does pushing the emblem. I have tried both sets of keys and nothing.
View 4 RepliesMy trunk won't open with the button on key FOB, interior button, and trunk-lid button. I did check the glove compartment valet button multiple times as well. No luck there. The trunk does open manually with the metal key from the key FOB, just not the other buttons.
EDIT: The key FOB button works in that it makes the long beep noise, but the trunk does not pop. The auto-shut function does not work either. Just checked the driver side panel "TRK OPN" fuse and that's perfectly fine.
Could it be a bad solenoid? Bad latch or fuse?
So yesterday I installed a Kenwood Double Din with a back up camera....that being said I was in and around the car all day, door panels, trim panels, rear bumper etc etc all removed. After completing the install the "Door Ajar" light stayed on, on the dash. No interior lights remained on to show a doors open, and the trunk light goes out when the doors closed. The drivers side door module is no good, and its been no good for a few months now. It doesn't show when the doors open, so i doubt that is the problem. What it could be? Any way to figure out which door is the one that's staying open?
View 9 RepliesI just bought a 2012 toyota camry se with smart key. The trunk button on the remote opens the trunk, but the smart key button on the trunk lid does not open the trunk. I found a brown module unplugged the the left of the seat release handles in the trunk, I checked the wiring to the switch on the trunk lid.

So how can i get the trunk open, I couldn't find the fuse the the release button.
View 11 RepliesWhen I push the button or use the fob to open the trunk, it opens but the trunk lid does not pop up. I have to pull it up manually. Is there some trick I'm missing? I skimmed the manual but didn't find anything.
I found my answer. Apparently they don't pop open on the older models, which is ridiculous. They started putting that option on cars years ago! Unbelievable.
I have a 2008 GS350 AWD. One day, the trunk stopped working. The trunk button next to the drivers seat doesn't work nor does the button on the key fob work. I already pressed the valet button in the glove box, so I know its not that. Every time I try to open the trunk with the key fob, it'll beep but the trunk won't open. The ONLY way to get it open is to many insert the key that's hidden in the fob.
I read a couple of threads regarding this problem. Some say they went to lexus and was charged 1600 while others say they fixed it themselves.
One person said "They unplugged the wiring harness from the ECU (Electronic Control Unit? I guess). Once the harness was plugged back in the ECU reset and trunk works fine now. However they tell me it could happen again."
Where exactly is the wiring harness/ecu? Any diagram that I could follow?
Another person wrote "Took it to Lexus and they told me it would cost over $1600 to fix. Found your post, opened the trunk to disconnect the cable to the ECU. It would require some dissasembly. Leaving the trunk open, I disconnected the main battery ground and waited 5 minutes and reconnected the ground. This also reset the ECU. I closed the trunk and now everything works fine again."
Where is the "main battery ground"? Is he referring to the same battery that you hook up jumper cables to? if so, how do I disconnect the main battery.
Locked the keys to a 2011 sonota in trunk. Locksmith got side door open but trunk will not open with button inside. Other set of keys 1500 miles away!

I just bought an used 2010 RX350. It has a button on the key that automatically opens the trunk, a button on the left of the drivers side that automatically opens the trunk and the button on the trunk that automatically closes it (so you don't manually close it). But after I bought it, I noticed that when I push the button on the underside of the trunk it does NOT automatically open.
