I installed the lights and they work fine but everytime I turn them on they throw a bulb out error message. I have the cold diagnosis turned off for the fogs and I still have it. Whats next?

Just installed a set of euro tails with rear fog (non-LED). I also have front fogs on my car. I used the following VDCS changes in Central Electronics to activate the rear fog:
Byte 3 - Bit 1 set to 1 (1 rear fog light)
Byte 3 - Bit 2 set to 1 (1 reverse driving light)
Byte 4 - Bit 6 set to 0 (Rear fog deactivated)
Byte 18 - Bit 3 set to 1 (Cold diagnose rear fog lights active)
All lights work correctly, but I still get bulb out warnings for all four fog/reverse lights, i.e.
Front Left Fog
Front Right Fog
Rear Left Fog
Rear Right Reverse
I have cleared all CECM errors and the warning light disappears, but as soon as the fog lights are used, it comes back.
I had HID's installed in my fogs (before haters jump in, it doesn't look remotely bad, and they're aimed down, so no glare), and I'm getting a bulb out error. I have a VAG, but I'm not seeing any long coding to disable error checking for the fogs. I have the error cancelling add on, but we forgot to install. Just curious if there's a VAG trick to disable that error before I rip the fogs out again.

Faulty bulbs? stock tails and side markers but do have a bi xenon retro in the headlights using the usp hid kit in the projectors.

Wanna keep these bulbs but the error code annoys me .. Need to know the vag-com code to get rid of this? I searched but I can't find it.. I have a 2012 GTI .

View 4 RepliesI have an intermittent error that comes on most of the time I have my headlights on, but sometimes goes off and comes back while I am driving. It shows me the bulb out light, and says on the screen "Number plate Check license plate lighting!" I have never touched the oem factory bulbs on the license plates, and if i get out and look at the plate, both lights are on over the plate.
The only change I have made was about a year ago, I installed an LED bulb in the trunk, and ran a second OEM trunk light in the left side and installed an LED bulb in that too, tee'd off the factory trunk light housing. But like I said, that was 1 year and 30,000 miles ago, and my bulb our error for the license plate has only just started, so I doubt they are related.
I recently performed the MDI update, and now whenever I connect something to the USB, I get a "Check Medium" error message.

View 13 RepliesI picked up a 2016 CSG GTI S 4-door with DSG on Dec 31st. I had an Airbag Error! message come on when I started it this weekend. I went through several cycles of restarts and it didn't go away. I did a quick Internet search and didn't hit on any common problem with airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, etc. I called that Saturday and was given a Monday appointment. I was dreading them having to take out interior dash, seats, trim, etc. to troubleshoot. I just got the call that the problem turned out to be with an airbag sensor connection in the front bumper and it is ready to go. Can't wait to get back to driving!
View 5 RepliesFor the last 3 months I've been bringing in my vehicle in and out of the VW dealership trying to find out why once in a while when I turn off my my vehicle the accessory part turns back on by its self and error message displaying "Error: Brakes service now!" In the middle of the cluster & then the car turns off completely. The first time I brought it to the VW dealership they called corporate and they said to change the cluster so they did. Two days after I pick up my car the error message came back on. Took it for the 2nd time and they said that it was the gateway .
And one day later after picking up my car the error message came back on again. I'm getting tired bringing in my Golf R and not fixing this issue. What it could be? Just an FYI, It is a push start. Here's a quick video link so you can see what I'm talking about [URL] ....
So i have been looking to get some new headlights with the projector housing but noticed that most of them have a fog light which my car does not have. I know in order to get them to work properly i would need the euro switch, but would i need to run additional wires through the firewall?
View 8 RepliesI have got a 5 door 2002 Golf 1.6l petrol, manual transmission with 190k kilometers on the clock. It has been playing up recently and the authorized VW garage is clueless, but still happy to charge for a miserable job...
The "symptoms" are always the same: I can start the car no problem. Plenty of water coming out of the exhaust and EPC light comes on, no power transmission (or very little). In this state, the engine runs irregular. Before all this happens, you can tell there will be a problem (this is not super obvious), as the car does not run smoothly in neutral, especially when it is at a a hill You might get away with another 50k but that's it.
Breakdown 1: Called out road side assistance and got it towed. Volkswagen dealer retrieved the error code P1564 and they replaced the throttle and some of the contacts of the throttle. (Costs 800 GBP)
Breakdown 2: However, 300 km later, same problem as before road side assistance retrieved error code P0638. The memory was reset and it did run perfectly fine for a short while (2000 km).
Breakdown 3: As before, error message P1564 was read. This time they thought there was a problem with the coil in cylinder 2 and replaced it (250 GBP) - also the one in cylinder 1 as "old". Picked up the car and it was not running smoothly in neutral and it eventually broke down after only 90 km.
What to get changed next? What is the real root of the problem here?
I had oem LED taillights installed to my car. Dealer coded the car to avoid error lights on dash. The problem is now the city lights under xenons look dimmed. Not as bright as before. I asked him why did it happen and he said that it's normal as it needs to balance the current flow to supply enough power to the LED taillights. I'm not satisfied with this answer though.

If absent footwell lights are indeed standard for Canadian golfs, I'm thinking about installing them myself. I found a link on another site that details the install on an MKV : [URL]...
So, I'm not entirely sure if this has been covered, but I dealt with the bulb out warning with the LED tail lights. I am not running the fourth wire. I had tried searching for a while but found no answers. Most conversation about this issue are buried in old threads.
The usual DIY disclaimer applies. In the Central Electrics module (09), access Coding, then Long Coding. You will need to make sure that Byte 19, Bit 3 is checked (Diagnosis Rear Parking Lights Active).

I have verified all operations (parking lights, brake lights, turn signals [amber]) and no flickering as well.
Installed the euroswitch yesterday because I want the parking lights to work in the front. All the lights work except for the front parking! In the second click I have the rear but no front. Am I missing something or do I have a bad euroswitch?

After installing the new head unit in my 06 Passat 2.0T, the "Airbag Fault" error appears on the MFD upon startup and the airbag light on the gauge stays on.
View 5 RepliesHad the tail lights coded for at a local shop.. realized as I was leaving that the reverse lights are throwing an error. Can these be coded for? Now that the car recognizes the tails as LED, is the error coming from the incandescent? Should I replace the bulbs with low pulling LEDs without resistors? As for the fog, do I have to replace the bulb as well? No euro switch or wiring done. Basically, how do I get rid of the error.
