I already checked for spacers, none found. It is kind of like they're seizing up or something, when parking and moving slowly, like out of my driveway, they make a terrible noise.

View 2 RepliesI recently broke my rear shock mount plate, it is rusted to crap. So I need to fix it, I was gonna weld it but there isn't enough metal to weld. It looks like it can bolt in bolt out. I am having trouble find a replacement.
View 3 RepliesWell about 4 days after my HPOP replacement, the ol Ford is at it again. Apparently, one of my power steering lines has been rubbing on the top of my driver side front shock mount. It let loose in a giant black plume of black smoke and grinding gears as I was pulling into the corner store. Limped her home and inspected it. From what I see, its not a terribly expensive hose and shouldn't be too terrible to replace. One thing after the other [URL] .....

Recently replaced clutch to brand new stock clutch
TT short shifter
First off, everything feels great. very solid mounts especially when compared to the spongy stock ones. definitely gets the job done.
Here's my question, is it normal to hear a lot of noise chatter coming from the clutch when not engaged? when my foot is on the clutch it goes away, and when i take my foot off a lot of noise starts coming from it. as far as i know, some clutch noise is relatively normal but I'm not sure if a lot is. also, when i start the car, the starter has a deeper, louder, more pronounced tone to it. not sure if that is normal or not either.
When turning left , I felt that there was a shock from front wheels. The service person told me that it was a differential problem and the controller unit is needed to reprogrmmed. Is it true? When my Touareg ran over the bump, I felt that the front suspensions were not adjusted well. Is it normal?

7 weeks ago I installed WRD Street Advantage coils. The install went great, no problems. Drove a week or so and decided to replace the strut mounts with 034's density strut mounts and new bearing to get rid of the creaking sound at low speed. Ordered them and put them on this weekend. After driving it I realized the creaking of the old weaker strut mount was gone. However, I inherited a rough clunking or knocking sound (as if something is loose and moving around), which seems to be coming from my passenger side. This happens at all speeds and not specific to turning the wheel. I unistalled/reinstalled everything in the front 4 times and went through everything with a fine tooth comb, but can't find anything loose. All bolts are torqued to spec.
I even removed the sway bar end links and drove it, still there. So it's not the end links. I also tried using the OEM endlinks which are longer than the ones from WRD to increase the space between the axle and the sway bar, possibly thinking it was hitting and causing the noise. No luck, still there. The only thing I noticed is that with the car on jack stands the strut mount is tight to the body but I still have slight play in the spring and it's perch. Is that normal? I'm assuming under load it's tight again. So the only variable in my situation is the new Density Mounts and bearing, can these cause heightened noises due to the increased heardness of the mounts?
I had the struts replaced a few months ago along with the strut mounts and bearings. Since then I've developed a popping and clunking noise from the passenger side spring/mount area. I've greased it and it has quieted it down but I noticed that when the car is not moving and I turn the wheel from lock to lock that very top piece of the strut pretty sure it's called the hat moves along with the wheels while the drivers side does not. What's wrong? Is it something as simple as the nut being to lose or to tight?
View 3 RepliesI have a 1999 cadillac Deville that my mechanic says needs a new front strut mount. My symptoms are mostly in cold weather a very slight groan when parking the vehicle or turning into my driveway. It seems like it happens when the steering wheel is on its return back to center and it can be felt slightly in the wheel and heard as the sound a zip tie makes when pulled together with a slight groan. The car has been recently aligned and rides pretty good but sometimes can be a little noisy over bumps.

View 7 RepliesDue to a leaking shock.. I looking to upgrade the suspension. I am in between wanting to bag it or go coilovers. If I go coilovers I think ill go with the KW v3 if I bag it I am not sure whether to go with bagyard or the air ride from the ecs site.

I've looked at the rubber bushings and can't find any missing but when I hit a bump or pothole it sounds like I have a broke shock what can it be....
View 8 RepliesSo after a few months of having these springs on the car I noticed that as of recently there is a loud CLUNK coming from the front shock area. This specifically occurs in the morning while backing up out of the driveway, after the car has been sitting for a long time. This happens at low speed as soon as i turn the wheel to align with the street. To make matters worst, there seems to be a more persistent noise coming from the rear whenever i go over any sort of rough surface, almost as if something is loose . I took it to my local VW to see if they could replicate the noises and they did. I did not mention I had springs on the car (VWR), should I have ? What could be causing these issues?
View 12 RepliesI just drive my 2011 new Prius class 5 off the lot, and I notice the front driver side or front tire make a lot of noise. Also I turn a low speed I can hear that noise. It sound like a shock noise sometimes and it sound like tire driving on bad surface noise. Pretty much I can hear it all the time the noise is very annoying because my wheel, tire, car is brand new with 49 miles.
I'm asking Prius owner with 17 alloy wheel, do you have the same problem? Or the 15 inch wheel? I test drive the 15 and it was sort of bad but the 17 alloy make a lot of noise. I being to dealer they say it normal because of the big wheel and small tire. The bs to me, on the phone they say they will give me a same car to compare but when I got there there no Model for me to drive.
I lowered my car recently and it makes a wicked rubbing noise when I turn right at a decent speed, I've heard the axle rubs i guess what you'd call the seat of the strut in the front, is this the case? and if so, what can be done to correct this issue, because by no means am i that that low, I've seen much lower.

I would like something that has a positionable arm that plugs into the cigarette lighter and charges the iPhone while it's in there. Whatever it is I would like it to look clean and not have a bunch of wires all over the place. I am aware of the ProClip, but there is no way I'd spend that much money on a mount for the phone.
View 6 RepliesToday when I took my car out as I was turning in the parking lot I started turning right and all the sudden a heard a huge pop from the right front end. It almost sounded like I had ran over something and kicked it up to the fender but I was only going like 3mph. I stopped in a parking spot and when I turned it to the left it made another pop but not as loud.
I looked under at the suspension and didn't see anything visibly loose so I kept going. Now when driving and I hit a small bump I hear a little rattle from the right front. There was no symptoms leading up to this, it was just sitting there and it did it the first thing as I was leaving today, the front end wasn't rattling at all before.
The sound it makes sounds like a spring being released so I was thinking it might have been the strut bearing or maybe the strut is just bad. I haven't actually had to work on the suspension for the .:R so its all new to me.
For the last few thousand miles my 99.5 jetta has been making a popping noise (many pops, not just one) only when turning right under acceleration. (No noise when coasting or decelerating in gear and turning right, no noise under any circumstances). no pulsing in the brakes, and the car appears aligned well as it tracks nicely.
The noise is rotational, the faster you go, the faster the pops happen (again, it will make many popping noises, not just one). Probably once per revolution on the tires, not entirely sure. And it is, with as much certainty as i can have, coming from the front passenger side of the car.
I took it into the mechanic twice, first time they couldn't hear it and sent it back. Second time they said it was likely the CV joint so replaced both on the passenger side.
I have to admit that I didnt notice the noise for about 300 miled after that service, and I did try to get it ot happen. but its back now.
All boots and ball joints look ok and no grease has slung out. I am thinking it might be a wheel bearing at the extremely early stages of going.
Right now i am on a "wait and see if it gets worse " course. For the last 1500 or so miles it has not seemed to have changed.
So after I turn off the car I always hear this for a short time. What is it?
