Recently, I've noticed squeaking noise coming from some mounts whenever I accelerate from stand still, brake, or even get in the car. Car has 43k miles and is a CPO. I'm pretty sure it's the motor mounts, but a friend also mentioned subframe bushings. Should I take that to the dealer or is it wear and tear that I will have to do myself?

I noticed the other day, while in the rain, if I let off the gas when going slow, when the car does its little jolt forward, I heard a squeak. Gotta be one of the mounts...
Could it have been the rubber got wet and one of the mounts was simply squeaking when it moved? I noticed it when dry but not nearly as much. Guess I should re-check the bolts, but other than the squeak nothing feels different.
So everything is tight and aligned and all good, but I'm getting this deep squeaking rub noise coming from my front upper strut mounts, but all the bolts are tight, yet it looks like the metal ring inside the strut tower moves a little up and down when you rock the car a bit. And I can feel the rubbing vibration and movement of the mount when I put my hand on/in the strut tower while the car is rocked.
View 1 RepliesI have a squeaking sound that's coming out of my car when I accelerate and it has been persistent for the past few weeks. I'd like to fix it myself if possible. It seems like it's just a loose belt, but I'm not sure. If I don't have a lift, jack, or car mechanic experience is it reasonable to think that I could figure it out safely? I'm relatively good with my hands and at figuring things out. Are there any serious risks of damage to myself or the car from me tampering with the belts?
View 2 RepliesStarted up my car this morning and drove to the gas station. I had the car on low fuel, got the low fuel light last night but didn't have time to stop by a gas station to fill up. Anyways after I did finally fueled up this morning, I pulled out of the gas station and a very loud squeaking noise which sounds like metal on metal occurred. The noise is coming from the rear, but it's really loud, nothing I have ever heard before.
I will mention that I have Koni coilovers installed, tried to peak under the car and see if something broke or came loose but I was unable to see anything since I am sitting pretty low.
I live in Chicago and this morning was very cold. I am trying to figure out what my issue could be. I called up the dealer and he told me to drive it around for a bit and see if it goes away. Another guess would be that something got stuck between the rotor and the break pad. I have the stock break pads. What could it be?
A grinding/crunching noise recently started happening to my 2001 vw vr6 12v.seems to be coming from the front of the car but only when i accelerate. I hear it through all the gears and am a little concerned as winter is approaching.
View 1 RepliesMy driver seat has been squeaking lately whenever I accelerate (at all - not just under hard acceleration). It seems to be any amount of g-force pushing directly backward causes it. I can reproduce it by just pushing back in to my seat when stopped and the engine is off too, so I know for certain it's the seat and not anything drive train or suspension related or anything else. I tried putting a little grease on the tracks that the seat slides fore/aft on, might have worked a tiny bit, but still there. Almost seems like something is loose... not sure. I might end up taking it by the dealer.
View 7 RepliesTruck is a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 2 wheel drive, automatic transmission. When I press down on the gas pedal and accelerate, an audible squeaking noise is made in the rear of the truck. It sounds like it is coming from somewhere near the rear axle or wheels. The sound is a high pitched metallic squeak, as if metal parts are rubbing against each other. The noise only occurs when I am accelerating. While accelerating, if i momentarily take my foot off the gas pedal, the noise stops. Also, once a constant steady speed has been reached the noise stops. Also, the truck makes the same noise when accelerating in reverse.
View 5 RepliesI started hearing squeaking noise around the Serp Belt Tension-er a week ago. I hear it during idling and louder when A/C is on. I took it to my local mechanic. This guy is very good and he is a certified Lexus mechanic.
He told me that the Serp Belt is the problem. He changed it, but squeaking noise still continued. The mechanic then told me that we need to change the Serp tension-er itself. I changed that too. Still the noise didn't go. He told me to change the Tension-er Pulley. I changed too, but the noise is still there.
I have already spent around $600 and I have the same issue as it was there before. Mechanic at some point said he is not able to figure out what the issue is.
I browsed online and could see some complain that it could be water pump or alternator. I don't want spend any more money on getting a new spare part until I know that is the problem.
Experiencing a squeaking noise coming form a VW GTI. I have a 2006 GTI and when the car is cold and I first drive it I hear a squeaking noise coming from under the hood when it's idle. Typically once I accelerate it goes away and it does this till the car warms up. I checked all visible belts and air lines for wear and leaks but nothing obvious. And given my mechanic is 30 minutes away by the time I get there it stops making the noise.
View 2 RepliesWhen I come to a stop there is a squeaking sound that is difficult to localize. It sounds like a combination of a squeaky rubber bushing and/or squeaky bed springs. The volume is magnified when slowing to a stop in a quiet garage but the best I can do is localize it to "the underside of the car".
View 15 RepliesI have a 09 ISF and at times it seems like there is a squeaking noise coming from the cluster. Is this common and whats the fix. I know there was a TSB with the 350s about the felt on the clips from the dash but I haven't seen anything with the ISF.

It was around 30 degrees out last night and driving and there was some squeaking heard the first time from the right front of the car it sounded like when hitting pot holes or certain dips in the road. Couldn't tell if it was the dash or suspension. Sound's like Styrofoam squeaking. Pretty sure its the suspension. First time I've ever heard any noise since I've had the car, bought used with 20k now has 107k on it.
View 1 RepliesYesterday I noticed that there was a high pitched squeaking noise coming from the front of the car as I was driving. It was loud enough to hear over the radio, which I muted to confirm where it was coming from. It sounded as if it whatever was making it was rotating, if that makes sense. It was the most noticeable from speeds 5 mph to 30 mph, but I couldn't tell if it was the wheels or engine compartment. I have 4300 miles on it.

View 2 RepliesI've taken my Camry in several times (service and warranty issues). One of the issues was a squeaking noise coming from the sunroof area. It was driving me crazy especially with the weather changing it was a lot more noticeable. I took it in and they said they fixed the problem by adding insulation to the roof. Well, the noise was still there. I took it again today and the Master Technician came out and wanted me to show him what I was talking about.
We went for a short ride around the dealer parking lot. He heard the noise and told me to drive to the detailing area. He then proceeded to get a paper towel with some cleaner and wiped the metal opening around the sunroof area and the black seal on the sunroof. He then got another paper towel and put some sort of lubricant and voila the squeaking noise is gone! I keep my car very clean and wipe down the sunroof area every time I wash my car. He said to go ahead and put some type of protectant (Meguiars) so it keeps the rubber moist.
I thought it was something serious with my sunroof turned out to be a very simple applying of protectant to a piece of rubber.
It just started and it it only does it at speeds over 40 miles or so. It comes on all of a sudden when driving sometimes. It gets a little louder when coming off the throttle as well.

I also wanted them to check out some squeaking my car was making that was noticeable when coming to a stop in say a parking garage or drive thru, and also the rattling I'm getting from the door panels. When I go to pick up my car, they said that everything was because of my exhaust and that they couldn't do anything about it. They also drove my car over 20 miles and that was the best answer they could come up with? Is it just me or does it seem like they were just joyriding my car? They couldn't even turn off the "service now" reminder. I really dont see how the rattling can be caused by my exhaust when I've brought it in for the same reason before I had the exhaust. What I should do? I mean the door panels rattle when coasting in neutral even, not just when I'm accelerating.
Also have a little squeal when turn the car off? Sounds like a belt to me but not sure.
I just had new pads and rotors puton and I have a constant squeaking noise coming from the front end where the parts were put.
View 1 RepliesI am feeling disappointed just came out of a lemon law suit with a kia optima I bought two years ago. I figured we'll I should buy a better brand this time which my brother recommended cause I was going to buy another Infiniti I always had good things with those cars. But the last 2 nights I have been hearing a squeaking noise in my rear end of my brand new IS 350 F Sport. Only in sport plus mode. I was driving home from work at 2 am and driving through a canyon road cause I want to see how this car does as soon as the road got a little bumpy I was hearing a squeaking noise come out of the rear of the car. Then I get home and I hear it going over my speed bumps in my complex of my condos. So I think we'll that's odd. I take it out of sport plus mode and back to eco and drive around the complex again and it goes away. Remind you I have 484 miles on the car.
View 3 RepliesSo I started hearing these random squeaking noises coming from the front suspension its what it sounds like. This only happens thou when i drive up into a drive way that is slanted. Or any kind of slow making slanted turns (~5-10mph)
I'm not 100% positive but it sounds like the suspension because it only makes noise when the car moves a little when ever i go up a drive way.
