So I finally got my car back after being repaired from the fender bender I was in, and I had to get a new right headlight but I just noticed that the beam pattern isn't right. I just picked up the car and brought it home so I'm not sure if this is a characteristic of a new headlight and bulb. I feel like they put in the wrong bulb or they didn't install it correctly?
View 4 RepliesI hit a bird at highway speed a few weeks ago, and the impact was enough to knock out the sidelight bulb. I thought the rest of the headlamp had survived OK, but now the evenings have turned dark I notice that the low beam pattern on that headlamp is completely messed up.
For those of you that have delved into the headlamp assemblies, is it possible for some part to have become dislodged such that the bulb is no longer correctly aligned with the lens?
I suspect I'm going to have to take off the bumper and dismantle the headlamp, but it would be nice to know what I might expect to find. If I find the low beam assembly damaged. I have the bi-xenons, so I'm aware from previous threads that getting the low beam out of the headlamp is a bear!
My driver's side Headlight Bulb Low-Beam Part of Bulb is out again. Since about a years time every few months the low-beam part of the bulb goes out & I replace the bulb. I have replaced about "4" bulbs in about a years time. The high-beam part of the bulb always still works. At a glance all wiring appears good; connector seems fine & wires all down into engine bay still encased in plastic tubing. I always use grease on the connector-wire contacts as it states in instructions when replacing bulb. The bulb housing shows no signs of problems. I think if I take it to the dealer they will just find that it all checks good. But I think has to be something like a short or something wrong.

View 9 RepliesI drive a 96 Subaru Legacy. What does it mean when one of the high beams is dimmer (less light output) than the low beam? I am using a brand-new bulb. It's not an adjustment issue because I was looking at the bulb when it was outside of the housing and it clearly gets dimmer when you switch to brights. However, they are equally bright when on low-beam, so I don't think its just a crossed wire.
View 2 RepliesWhat could be causing the two dark dips in this headlight pattern? These are supposed to be the LED headlights. The cut-off is pretty good, but the dark area on the left is noticeable on the road. I didn't notice the one on the right until I lined up this shot against the garage door.
View 9 RepliesWhen I use the high beams on my GTI with LP, the pattern goes very high with an oval/round top. The road is lit up fine, but I've never seen a pattern go up so high. Is this normal or a problem.
View 15 RepliesWell I had this issue with my car. Needed a new bumper. I guess the shop screwed around with my re-aiming of the headlights a bit much. I touched it a bit and boom. light faces the ground
I am familiar with this issue and all u have to do is get the white part on the screw to slide back in the black at the top of the pic then the aim will operate correctly.
My issue is the white piece seems stripped from to many turns. it will not go forwards or backwards using the screw aim adjuster.
I had a check headlight system come on today out off no where, on my 2012 Isf, What's the solution?

View 8 RepliesLast night I noticed when I got out of the car my drivers side headlight was off while my passenger side light stayed on for about 20 more seconds.
At first I thought I just needed a new bulb, but tonight I saw both headlights are working when the car is on or when I turn the headlights on manually, but when I shut the car off the drivers side goes off immediately and the passenger side turns off in about 20 seconds.
I really like my auto-off after a little bit instead of it turning off immediately.
I haven't changed anything recently. Other than that I can't see any other problems. I swapped out my 08 headlights for 2014 headlights about a year ago and haven't had any problems.
I recently purchased my ISF from a Lexus dealer in my area. After the first rainfall i noticed there was water starting to build up in my passenger headlight.

I noticed in some forum that "Sylvania 9005SU SilverStar Ultra High Performance Headlight Bulbs" is good, but it has short life of less than 1 year.
On my W8 sedan the passenger low beam is out and it looks like its an HID headlight... How do you change them in these cars? Also is it HID? It's odd sometimes it is on and sometimes it is not, but today I think its out completely...

View 6 RepliesMy 04 Toureag has one headlight (low beam) that flickers on and off. I can shut the door and it will flicker on. This happens both for daytime running lights as well as regular headlights. It also at times registers on the dash that a light is burnt out. Yet all the lights are on and working.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 VW Passat which has been eating low beam bulbs. I've probably replaced this one 4 times in the last 12 months. The last time I replaced was 2 days ago with a Sylvania bulb. Yesterday on my way to work it burnt out. Then on my way home last night I was pulled over by a cop for it. That really annoyed me.
Having issue with Passat burning through headlight bulbs? Do I need to have the wiring assembly checked or possibly replace the entire headlight assembly? I'm getting really tired of changing these bulbs so often.
In December, 2013 I got two new bulbs - according to the invoice they were Xenon D4S. Around July, 2014 the driver side headlight would stay on for 20-30 seconds or so and then go out. I took it to the shop that installed the lights and they said they replaced the headlight and gave me back the car. I noticed that night that the problem wasn't fixed.
I took it back to them and they said it must be the ballast. At this point, I don't trust them, because they didn't stand to gain anything from replacing the bulb as parts and service were under warranty, so I'm not convinced they actually did anything (especially given that they didn't even test it before giving me the car back).
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that the same thing is happening on the passenger side, and they both go off at the same time. I find it hard to believe that both ballasts would go out and the timing would be identical. The problem is, now, I cannot test it by switching the bulbs from right to left because they both do the same thing. According to Xenon Depot there are a lot of Phillips counterfeits - does that apply to Xenon bulbs as well?
Should I buy new headlights and try to install them? I'm looking at Xenon Depot [URL] .... and it looks like the D4S Xenon bulbs, but there are other bulbs. I don't know which ones to buy. Is it likely that the problem is electrical because they both go out at the same time?
My front low beam headlight is out and I only have 2,500 miles on the car. Was it replaced under warranty? If not how can I find out how to replace it myself?
View 8 RepliesI suspect that I already know the answer but will ask anyway. In another lifetime I could adjust the headlights on my car (two spring-loaded screws on each bulb for up-down and side-side adjustment).
The low beam on my 2010 Camry seems to run out at about 30 yards. Some night I am going out and actually measure it. High beam has no problem as it goes forever. It just seems that the low beam does not allow me to see very far down the road. I have not asked the dealer yet and thought I would ask here first. Is there a way to adjust the headlights on these new cars with the total headlight system in one big package?
