I have ES 350 with 118000 miles. And for the last 6 months I've noticed my car become louder and louder. And now it's beginning to shake and vibrate a little. The Check engine light and check VSC light came on then it went off. I can also tell it doesn't have the same pick up when I hit the gas. So is it time to for new plugs and coils?
View 6 RepliesI was driving my wifes 2005 Lexus 330 on an Interstste between 65-70 mph. Suddenly the steering wheel started to vibrate as if I had a flat tire. I pulled over, checked-no flat. Cautiously started slowly then picked up speed til I was at 65 again. No problem. Drove all the way home (150 mi) next day, no problem. About 3 weeks later, the same thing happened to my wife on an interstate. Sje stopped, checked, no flat. Started up cautiously, then faster. A ll OK. Came home-no repeat of the problem. Took it to our dealer. Up it went on the lift. Diagnosis: 2 tires had steel belts that were out of shape and the car needed a slight alignment. $800+ bucks. A week later, on an interstate, she had a repeat of the problem. Lexus took the car and the service guys took turns drvng it home at interstate speeds. Couldn't get a repeat of the problem. I don't know if this would have any bearing on the situation, but the only thing we've done out of the ordinary is use regular gas about 3 of every 4 fill-ups ...
View 1 RepliesFirst issue I noticed was the brake pedal/steering vibrating - my assumption was "warped" rotors (I use warped in quotations so that this does not turn into a discussion on whether or not rotors can warp.) I checked the front and the rotors and pads seem fairly new, the back pads were pretty much gone so I replaced those. Reduced the problem somewhat. Yes I still need to do the rotors but would rear rotors that are warped cause that much shaking?
Next issue I had noticed was that for a while that the car would shake somewhat when accelerating usually going up hills or when the car is under strain. Then I noticed that when I had the car fully loaded with passengers it would shake fairly noticeably when accelerating every time.
I thought the problem may be worn plugs since it seemed to come from the engine, well after 2 days and many hours of work not the problem.
By the way I bought the car only a few months ago and have very few service records so not too sure what has or has not been done. The lady did keep up with the maintenance though.
Recently bought a 2001 Accent that has been experiencing a 'rough idle' for the last few weeks. Basically, after I've driven the car for a few minutes (from a cold engine position) and then stop at a stop light or stop sign, I can hear the engine get louder and the car starts to vibrate slightly, after I've driven for about 15 minutes at higher speeds and then stop again I can actually see the steering wheel shaking when I take my hands off of it. If i put the car in park when I am stopped and the engine is on, the idle calms down quite a bit. The weird part is that when I first start driving the car in the morning, the rough idle problem doesn't happen until about 5 minutes of steady driving - so when the engine is colder I don't experience the problem, The problem is not that serious, and Ive already brought it into a dealer who cleaned out fuel injection, gave me a major tune up and replaced all the spark plugs, but the problem still persists. I am gonna bring it back to them but they seem a bit lost to be honest. Other than this the car is driving normally when I am not idling.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 LS460 with 79K miles. Everything on the car is great, except this vibration at idle while in drive. For example, when I stopped at a red light I feel this vibration through the steering wheel, in the driver seat and the passenger side. Now, when I put it in reverse, neutral or on park (foot still on or off the brake and vehicle stopped) the vibration goes away.

As I was driving the car to work today the check engine light started blinking and the car started to vibrate as if it were about to shut off. The light eventually stayed on, I took it the the dealer and there not sure what the problem is, they say they've never seen this before.
View 15 RepliesI got my 2011 ES 350 inspected at a dealership in Chicago last week and they told me that the passenger-side (right side) front axle boot was leaking grease. I'd noticed before that my car would shimmy/vibrate slightly when I accelerate, the vibration would intensify if I was accelerating up a hill. However, the mechanic at the dealership said the problem COULD be in the axle, but it could be something else. The car has new Michelin tires, I would assume the problem is tires, but that wouldn't explain the increased vibration that happens when driving up a hill. I talked to a local mechanic and he said he would replace the axle. Do you think the vibration would disappear if I replaced the axle?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 LS. The buzzer for my front parking assist sensors is significantly louder than when the buzzer sounds for the rear sensors. I have adjusted the buzzer volume to the loudest position (#5), but the volume of the buzzer when the rear sensors activate is still much lower than for the front sensors.
The indicators on the nav screen for all the sensors are working properly. Do you find the volume is different between the front and rear sensors or do I have a problem?
I am asking because I inadvertently backed out of a driveway into a car that was parked directly across the street. I do not recall hearing the sensor sound before I hit the other car. At the time, my sensor volume was set on #3. When I checked, I could barely hear the buzzer from the rear sensors, but could clearly hear the buzzer from the front sensors. Resetting the buzzer volume to #5 has worked a bit, but I still wish the buzzer for the rear was louder.

I noticed today while in park standing and waiting for my wife to come out the nail Solon ..the car had this very mild tremble / shake ...and sounded like a belt under the hood was loose .. Something like a rotating fan sound loud but not that loud to make a big stink out of... When I drove off and came to a stop sign I pressed the breaks and RPM's went from 1,100 to 1,300 and back down when the car was at full stop??
My wife was driving this morning and she said that the car engine started to hesitate and shake a lot, engine light came on, started to bling. Called road assistance and they did a great work towing the car in less than half hour. Also noticed a rotten egg smell from the exhaust or engine.

View 1 RepliesI have the stock 16-inch Bioline wheels on my '10 JSW TDI. After hitting a big pothole on the Pennsylvania turnpike (stupid of me, I know), the car started to shake noticeably above 55 m.p.h. Tire pressure was normal. When I replaced the wheel (right front) with the spare, the shaking went away.
Did I damage the wheel? Normally, I would attribute shaking to the alignment being off, but---again---the car doesn't shake when the spare is on. I would have thought it would take more to damage a 16-inch alloy wheel, but what do I know?
I'm trying to decide whether I should pay to have the alignment checked or start scouring the classifieds for a replacement wheel already.
My 2007 Honda CR-V has started to vibrate when I am driving around 45-50 miles an hour. Seems to be in the wheels. Doesn't happen all the time. At first I thought the road was rough, but now happens more often only for brief period then drives normally. The majority of the time, it's when I take my foot off the gas to maintain or slow speed. Car dealer took it for a test drive. They told me my tire pressure was too high and took air out, but the problem persists. They checked the wheel bearings, the joints, etc.

I replaced the spark plugs in cylinders 2, 4, and 6. Not 1, 3, 5 yet since those are harder to get to.
I drove the car about 10 miles and it seemed to operate fine. The CEL stayed off. However, my scanner still says Pending P1707. The scanner showed no errors when I first started up the car, but I decided to do it again about 5 miles in that is when it showed the error.
I've done some searching but the responses for this code are inconsistent. What this error is about?
I have a 2000 Mazda Protege ES, with about 120,000 miles. On February 14th, Valentine's Day, my car broke down and has not functioned since then. Here's what happened, I was driving the car when it started to shake. It continued to shake for about 5 minutes, then it stalled. I was able to start he car again and it began shaking worse than before. Then it stalled again and it has not run since then.
The mechanic I've been working with has tried a new CAM sensor, replaced the computer and checked some of the electrical wiring. But nothing has worked. It's been almost 4 months and I am eager to get my car functioning properly right again.
I have a 2000 Grand AM cylin. Recently I was driving when my car started to shake violently. I drove it to the side of the road to a parking lot then it died. I started it up again and is ran but shacking a lot again. Once I got home, 3 blocks away the car died again. I tried to start it again but it would only turn but not start the engine. I have checked the gas pump, motor mounts, oil and anti freez for oil. I did check the timing chain but I don't know much on how it should be.
View 2 RepliesThe air-con unit has caused the car to vibrate (only way to describe it) quite badly.
It started in January (which is winter in the UK) so I switched it off and it stopped - hence my diagnosis that it was the ACU at fault.
As spring approached and the temperature started to rise, I put it back on and it appeared to work fine no vibration and plenty of cool air.
Occasionally (one or twice over many 1000's of miles) it would do it, but cycle it off/on and it went.
I figured it was probably the serpentine belt that needed replacing - which happened on the service last month, they advised it was worn so I was right to replace.
Yesterday the vibration came back with a vengeance, and my suspicion is that perhaps the belt-tensioner should also have been replaced as these have a limited life so was slipping due to the extra load of a hot day and me switching the ACU on.
A small edit after submitting - I'm assuming it HAS an automatic belt tensioner that is based on some spring mechanism - can't believe you'd have to adjust these manually?
I got the lights retrofitted last week. All from TRS. Now comes the AFS. The mods to the projector were only Clear Lens. My installer said there is only one switch for the AFS, which he showed me.
The first time we installed it, The moment you started the car, the AFS check came on. Lights Adjust the way they are suppose to on Start, But the left light swiveled to the right and then both dropped down. We opened the light again and checked the connector was tight inside the light. Second time around, It does not display the AFS on start. But I took it around the block. As soon as you turn to the left, The lights will swivel to the left, but right after they come back, I get the AFS light, and both projectors go right down. I am able to shut off AFS during start up as there is no issues until I actually approach a turn. The right side is good, no error codes from there. However when hooked up with OBD, it gives me a B2412, which translates to left swivel motor. I will be going back and what my installer suggested is we directly wire the connector inside the light, see if it works out.
That light is ridiculously annoying, flashing every second.

I have a ford f250 with a 5.4l 2v engine and lately it started to shake when it idles. i have changed all the ignition coils and spark plugs, the injector are fine, but i cant seem to pinpoint the problem. the weird thing is that there are no codes. the fuel trim on bank 1 is around -8 and bank 2 is at almost positive 20 and higher.
View 14 RepliesSo, after I lower with BC Coil-over and 20" wheels (Stagger). I feel my car vibrate at a complete stop and in Drive. But when I put in neutral it stop the vibrate. When I take off from a complete stop is fine no vibrate but when I let go of the gas and let it cruise, it vibrate....
AWD GS, after lowering and with stagger wheels but it seem like the driving vibrate after after I put these wheels on. I didn't notice when i have my stock wheels on. or was it just me and 1SLOGS? I did balance all 4 tires again, I have all the hub-centric rings on all 4 wheels too.
