Driving home tonight my 350 starts getting the shakes, vibrating all over the place and all of the sudden the check vsc, check engine light, skid light, and the yellow ! popped up. The check engine light starts flashing and the car looses all power, no acceleration. I pull over, shut her off wait a few mins and same thing.
View 10 RepliesDriving down the road today and all of a sudden the car loses power, starts vibrating and the Check VSC and Check Engine lights came on. I pulled off the highway and got the car stopped and engine shut off. I let it sit for about 5 minutes and started it up and all warning lights went off and I was able to drive the car home with no adverse effects. Seems to be running normal now. Searched the archives and saw numerous posts about a loose gas cap, but this was something far more serious.
View 13 RepliesI recently purchased a low mileage 2002 SC 430. The steering will starts vibrating at about 65 MPH, and it lessens, or even quits vibrating at about 80. I am not sure if it is the tires needing balancing, or the current set of tires not being particularly good. I think the tire brand is Rotalla, or something very similar. I would like, when it is time to put a new set of tires on the car, to get some non run flat tires (I am not sure whether the current set are run flats or not), as I read on this forum that the ride is much better on non run flats. However, I do not have a spare in the trunk. Are the small, temporary spares easy to come by? Does Lexus sell them and how much? Is there any other alternative to consider as I do not particularly want to get a flat when driving in the country without a spare.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 AWD. I've noticed that when I am at a light that the car has a little bit of a vibration, not bad but I notice it. I have put it in D and R and the car does the small vibration. When I put it into N it completely stops and is still. What the heck would that be from?
Also my steering wheel has a bit of a vibration when driving. I've especially noticed it at 20 - 25 MPH. It doesn't do it more when I brake, it is just something that happens and I can feel the whole time. What do you all think that could be?
Ever since I start driving the car I always noticed at like around 5mph no matter how light you touch the pedal from rolling its a bit jumpy. Not sure if its a major problem or not... also the tranny is starting to feel a bit not smooth btw almost at 80k miles 07 GS350.
View 14 RepliesI just spent about $600 on front Lexus Oem struts, Front Strut mounts and labor to try to cure a knocking sound that developed recently. My 2007 GS350 has 84K miles on it. Figured it was time and I had a 50% off labor coupon from Pepboys so it wasn't bad.
Unfortunately that did not cure the problem so I figure it was the upper control arm, but the whole front end was solid. I decided to take one of the Moog sway bar end links off that I just put in and drive around. The noise was completely gone!! So it appears that I had a defective sway bar end link!!!
So before you guys start swapping out front end parts for a suspension noise which is what I've seen when I searched the forum, start with the cheapest one, the end links. Take out the side that makes the noise and drive around to see if the noise goes away. BTW it is safe to drive with one missing. I was able to drive normally with it off.
I own a 2008 GS350.
Noticed this am my right headlight is out. However, when I put on the brights it works.
It appears the piece that covers the bulb is missing.
I just recently got a 2011 gs350. I've heard there is a way to modify it to a f type.
View 13 RepliesI have a 2007 GS350 ML. Recently the CD player has no sound. It plays the cd and you can change tracks, yet no sound comes out. While the cd is playing, you don't have the ability to change the volume. Sound does come out on the radio and XM. When I play a MP3 CD sound does come out and i can change the volume. when i'm playing a cd and hit a small pothole or road marker sound comes back on. Don't know if it's a loose wire or something.
View 14 RepliesThe trunk is not functioning in my 2007 GS 350. The button in the cockpit is not opening it. The key fob will not open it, however, I do hear the beep when I hold down the release button. The latch under the trunk wont pop it open either.
THE ONLY WAY to open it is if I manually use the key. Meaning I have to pop the key out of the key fob and stick it in the hole and turn it. Its kind of embarrassing having to do this in such a nice luxurious car.
- I made sure that the button in the glove box is not the problem
- I checked the fuse beneath the driver side cockpit and it is good.
- I tried unplugging the battery/ resetting the computer.
Still no luck.
What part I will have to replace?
Have checked fuses in front of battery. Have checked fuses at left in trunk. Side mirror heaters are working and about 4 of the bottom rear window lines. What else.
View 4 RepliesI have a 07 gs350 monday morning i woke up to go to work and the car started then shut right off i tried a second attempt and it cranked but died out i tried again and instead of turning on the radiator fan turns on high. I disconnect the battery after and plugged it back in to start and it still wont start only the radiator fan turns on high there also also s check vsc light on after all this no check engine light. My battery is brand new too...

My battery died to this guy try to give me a jump and he connected the jumper box the wrong way, we had a little spark and then we try to connect the jumper the rite way but car will not start. I replaced the battery with a new battery, no start. the horn works but the rest is dead.
I was trying to locate a main fuse but was not able to. Do these cars have a main fuse? What should i look for.
I'm wondering when I should get the spark plugs change.
I have 08 GS350 with 57k.
I own a 2002 and 2011 GS and put the 22" wheels on both. The are very hard to maintain due to put holes, (235/30/22 tire) (22-8.5 rims) flat off set slightly. Very slight rub when turn uphill. I just don't know if it will hurt car such a transmission or engine. Mostly concerned about my 2011.
View 1 RepliesMy 07 GS350 for the second time, gave me a low oil warning light. the car has 114k and had the cam TSB work done. The first time I had low oil was about 2,300 miles ago when my alternator started burning. Got that replaced along with a oil change,brakes, coolant flush and belt change (i know i know I got raped by the dealer). Last night driving to the gas station with car almost on E the low oil warning came on again..I always have them put 5W-30 synthetic but during my last oil change they put in 5w-20. I don't think that this would do anything however. Not due for an oil change. I spent about $1200 on the car in January to fix the previously mentioned issues. I love my GS and do not want to get rid of her.What are my options? What could be wrong?
View 12 RepliesI recently replaced my pads and rotors and when I pulled everything out there were no shims? is that ok run without shims? my rotors were warped bad and I'm wondering if that was part of the cause? my pads had plenty off life left but I changed them anyways? Doing the rear to since I still feel a light wobble when on real smooth pavement...
View 5 RepliesGot in my GS the other day to go to work. Depressed the brake and push button start and car started like normal. Ran for 3 seconds or so and something on the dash flashed, maybe it said "system malfunction"? Car turned off and would not start. It was unexpected and happened so quickly. Car has worked fine since I've had it for 3 months or so. The brakes are now vacuum sealed and barely have any room to depress. The vehicle can only be locked/unlocked by hand and have to use the manual key to open the doors.
The door open light comes on the dash and the dome lights work. The key fob is not detected and does not work when I hold it up closely to the start button, like it is said to do when the car is immobilized. I just put a new battery in the key fob. That didn't work. I put a new car battery in the vehicle. That didn't work. I am not sure what to do anymore!!?? I spoke to the Lexus dealer on the phone and they sounded like it was either the key fob or the car battery. Checked those both out. Could it be the computer system? Maybe needs to be re-programmed? Something isn't triggering the ignition. The dash won't turn on or anything.
I looked in the trunk of my GS350 when my car was parked in the garage and it looked pretty dark in there. I shut off the garage lights and the trunk was just as black as everything else.
Is there supposed to be a trunk light in this car? Every car I have ever owned, Hondas, Nissans, and my other Lexus had trunk lights, so I think this is pretty weird if they didn't include a trunk light.
If there is a trunk light then where it's located so I can check it out?
Ok, so I just purchased my first Lexus (2008 GS 350 - 46K miles) and I'm having issues syncing my contacts with the car. The phone syncs. What am I doing wrong, is there some function on the phone I don't know about?? I've also read there might be issues with the Galaxy S4, is this true, if so, how can I get it to work?? Short of buying a new phone!!
