So It's been a while since I've noticed this wearing rusty sound when moving the driver seat forward and back. It only happens at a certain point where I feel most of my family members are positioned when driving.... I took a look it seemed a bit rusted... Will post pics later.
View 3 RepliesWhen you have the key in the ignition and have it so the steering wheels moves up and outta the way too? My seats sounds like 3-5 seconds of some serious farting action. Not good when on the phone and someone asks, "whats was that?" I am sure its the leather rubbing on the side of the console, but god damn will it ever stop!? Only 5K on the touareg, so maybe it will go away sooner or later...

View 4 RepliesI have a 2002 Limited with an issue with my driver's seat. The heater works but I cannot get the seat to move forward/backward etc. The passenger side works and I've switched the fuses around so it isn't the fuse.
View 3 RepliesWhile driving our 1990 toyota corolla (3-speed automatic transmission) on the freeway recently, the car gave a slight jerk, at which point my husband looked at the gas gauge and noticed it was well below "E".. Oops. fortunately, there was an exit right there with a gas station. Filled up and we were off toward the next on-ramp. Got to about 35-40 mph, and all of a sudden the car literally just stopped moving forward after violently jerking back and forth several times. We then tried to put in neutral and push it to the side, but it wouldn't even do that. Everything was locked up, seized solid. Somehow we managed to get it to the side.
The flatbed tow truck took us home, and all we could do by that point was move a foot or two in reverse after it dropped us off... fast forward... After several days/weeks of it sitting around we can now actually drive it forward! reverse! but we haven't taken it out of the driveway to go more than 5 mph.. We had seen some fluid leaking prior to this incident, but could NOT figure out where it was coming from despite checking obvious fluids meticulously every couple of days. A friend said it might have been the diff fluid? We'd like to fix the car, but to repair a tranny on this old car (although it only has 67K miles!!!) is too expensive. My husband wants to make it a weekend project.

Accidently ejected my map dvd...located just under my Nav screen under a piece that has Lexus on it. It slides right up and the dvd came out. Cant get it to stay in now. Only makes clicking sound! So frustrated. How do I get the dvd player out? Removing the dashboard? My dvd player isn't in the dashboard though!
View 1 RepliesI have been able to disable the seat belt buzzer in both my 2007 and 2011 GS 350. But unfortunately, it doesn't 'stay'. Next time I start the car the buzzer is back. I used to have a 2009 RX 350 as well as a 2009 ES 350 and I had no problem whatsoever permanently disabling the seat belt buzzer in those two cars.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2002 Chevy Impala with power driver's seat. The seat has three motors which move the seat forward/back, front of the seat up/down, rear of the seat up/down.
The seat will no longer go up/down in the rear of the seat. More importantly, it will no longer go forward or back. The left side jack screw spins and wants to move the seat forward or back but eventually stops when it can no longer go any further because the right side jack screw will not turn at all.
All of the motors are working properly and turning the flexible drive shafts. The drive shafts do not appear to be stripped at the ends. After removing the drive shaft covers and reinstalling the drive shaft, I can see that they are turning when the motors are activated.
I then removed the drive shafts and inserted a square bit into the end where the drive shaft gets inserted into the gearing attached to the jack screw. The bit just spins and spins and doesn’t turn the jack screw.
I cannot removed the seat because it is in a position where the rear bolts are covered by the seat. I have tried to remove the four bolts under the seat that attach the seat to the frame. I am unable to break these bolts free (they appear to be welded or loc-tited down).
Yesterday, after lifting back my rear seat backrest (40% section) I found out that the seat cushion moved forward and now I just can't find a way to put it back into place.

The seat being all the way back makes it much more difficult to get my son in and out of his child seat in the back. Also, I'm not obese nor do I have mobility problems so the seat moving out of the way is a complete waste for me!

VW Touareg 2007 V6 passenger electric seat problem....
My wife's power drivers seat will only move forward not back. Fuses all look good and the passenger seat operates fine. If this continues and she hits the button again she will need to be shorter than the 5' she is already. No chance at this point I can fit in the car.

View 14 RepliesI just got a 2009 lexus gs 350 everything is perfect except when i go into reverse and back up slowly the brakes make a loud squeaking noise!! Its really annoying and embarrassing. I got the rotors resurfaced and nothing.

Also up and down does not work.. Am I screwed or might this be a fuse? Strange, I would have thought the Driver seat would have failed first.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Camry and the front driver seat is making a rubbing/friction noise when moving it forward and backward- mainly in the back half track, and of course it is worse when sitting on the seat.
I checked closely and it seams that the seat has a little wiggle side to side when moving on the track. Not sure if this is normal (the wiggle) and if it just needs lubrication, or a track adjustment? It started last week and sounded worse yesterday when sitting on it.
The motor and all other seat functions work/sound fine.
I have an 06 Trailblazer with power seats. Moved the pass. seat up to fit something in the back. When went to put seat back into position it would not move back. The reclining function on the seat back is working. Is it unheard of for the seat motor to go bad or is it possibly just off track, or something?

View 2 RepliesDriver seat tilts forward all by itself sometimes when I park the car. I thought I read a thread in the past that someone else has this issue. 2007 Azera Limited and she has 90,000 mile on her. I have never held a car this long. That means I like it.
